Quote:Your statement is ridiculous. by your reasoning every change ever made to the game that was not specifically addressed by the Dev team would constitute an exploit.I think the fact that the devs have NOT commented on the matter is proof enough it's an exploit. If it wasn't the CR team would already be here coving up the truth (being of what you morons are thinking). Replacing logic with rage is a BAD idea
This is a snap reaction to a problem that doesn't exist. People are using nukes now because effective strategies for pugs haven't emerged yet and people are relying on the nukes. Someone at Paragon doesn't like that & is quick fixing a problem that doesn't exist.
Nobody wants to to use nukes to do this trial, they are a pain to collect even on toons that still dominate in warburg. People want an effective strategy that works and doesn't require cherry picking who can come along for the trial. With this nerf the devs are effectively saying no, we want you to use purpose built teams and screw everyone else.
This goes beyond just this trial because incarnate salvage is planned as part of the reward. The devs are directly excluding certain builds and ATs from full participation the the incarnate system because they will only get the salvage they will need by begging a mercy spot from a COP raiding group. Smells like more old LRSF antics to me. -
Quote:The market sets the prices. If you pay it then its worth that much to you. You don't have to. There are at minimum 5 different ways to get anything on the marketI have two words for you guys who are doing this and it isn't "Good Morning"
I was wondering do any of you guys work for the US govt? Stop with the retarded forced inflation. Get over yourselves and stop ripping people off. Thanks.
1. H&V Merits
2. Reward Merits
3. AE Ticket Rolls
4. Random Drops
5. Begging friends
None of these involve or require any influence, beyond the crafting cost, or require you to even approach the market.
I agree that at times the market can be very frustrating. However its not a grocery store, its an auction house supplied and used by the players. Just like Ebay or a live auction in the real world. If you want to pay fixed prices either stick to common SO's or buy the common IO recipes from the crafting tables.
The best way to drive down market prices is to increase the supply. Encourage your friends to list as many of their drops as possible, not to hoard their merits, don't vendor or delete salvage and recipes and the supply will increase and prices will drop. -
Quote:This isn't really a new thing.
I don't like Devs "making things up as they go" just because they can. Obviously they can label anything they want to be an exploit because they wield god-like power in this game. But simply being reactionary via calling something they didn't foresee to be an exploit is, like your response to me, an immature way to react to serious problem. -
Quote:Thats an invalid argument for a superhero game. Many classic heroes relied on any number technologies to either gain or increase their powers. Your basically saying that Batman can't use his utility belt or Wonder Woman her lasso because they give them extra powers they would normally never have.Well first, I think if you read my post in its entirety then it is explained sufficiently. This is a game where you are meant to be playing as super heroes, not pokemon. It should be about your characters and the team, not who can "cheese" a fight with powerful temporary stuff.
Second, it comes down to this:
Do you want the devs to develop and implement challenging end game content?
If no, then this doesn't apply to you.
If yes, then do you propose that all future end game content is balanced around the assumption that everyone has Shivans etc? Because that is what it will come to. I recognise these have worked for years now and that is a mistake of the devs, but I would suggest draw a line under that. Of course it is also the responsibility of the devs to make challenging fights and not just huge sacks of health with lots of regen.
P.S I'm not making accusations of people, it is perfectly legit to use these temp powers because that is how they are/were designed, but the design is wrong. That was my point. -
not quite sure if I would have gone in that direction with a build but hey if it works for you have fun with it.
-
Quote:These items have all been in the game years. Their use IS considered an effective tactic or strategy. You can't hoard them because you can only carry one of each type. Please do a better job of explaining how using them is against the "Spirit of the game."Can I just say, I think hoarding up on temporary powers like Shivans, Nukes, HVACs really goes against the spirit of the game. CoX is the only game I know of that would accept such rampent misuse of powers in order to bypass the tactics/strategies needed to kill an encounter; where tactics/strats are even necessary and its not just a mountain of regen to climb over.

The goal on this build was softcap and 70% recharge by lvl 25. I find that this build plays more like a scrapper while the SS feels more tankish.
Both a total beasts to play.

This guy has walked over everything but Recluse in the STF. Haven't tanked the RSF yet but thats cause he is blue side for his accolades. Be sure you are prepared to deal with the frequent End crash that comes with maintaining a double stacked Rage. I originally planned to slot over the Sciraccos and one of the Crushing impact sets with Purps but don't see a need and I like being softcapped without weave by lvl 30.
I do find Fire to have better synergy with SR than SS. Rage crash ignored it allows you to softcap even earlier and with less effort. Either way the power creep caused by the i19 fitness changes will make either build totally disgusting for mid lvl TFs

Quote:already cashed out on them and the end mod chance to disorient proc. Are you actually storing them up, so when all these electric doms and and electric controllers turn 50 and want to purple out their toons, you have cornered the "static field" sleep market?
Cleared almost 2 billion between the 3 for about 30 min "work." The proc was the real coup. picked them up for 50K each, around 30 of them, crafted them with dirt cheap salvage and flipped them back at 15-20 mil a pop.
The sleep set was just dabbling with the idea of controlling the price on 2 IO' in a low demand set that everyone just uses for the recharge. I figured I would get paid on at least one of them since you need 5 for the recharge. Turned out that someone else saw what I was doing and tried to move in on it. So after then had their bids in I dumped mine all back into the market below thier bid but well above what I paid and took it all to the bank. Now the price is back in the tank and someone else can play the delete purples game like the OP -
You can be so much more ebil if you buy up 2 of the recipes because people DO slot the sleep and confuse sets for the cheap recharge. Then you can flip your 3mil purchases for 20mil each.
Eventually some other marketeer with try and step on your action, paying way more than you did, so you just sell them all to them and let them hold the bag of crap until the next guy comes along. -
Hi, I have some beach front property you may be interested in.

omg. I made jade's list. I feel so important now.
Welcome back to the game -
OK so slight thread hijack. I am working on this build trying to get a solid 6 attack chain. This is an I19 build and the slotting in Phys percection is my set for stamina. So please ignore the End for the time being.
The Basic Chain is BB>SB>FB>DD>SB>CS with siphon power or Shield charge as needed.
An thoughts now how well this may workout?

Quote:My Sig is from an article talking about the MA system. I strongly believe that a lack of in house QA by our wonderful devs is why many of these bugs make it live.Only the ones who are purposely using this bug to claim badges they aren't entitled to. Do we have different definitions of the word? I'm not for one minute saying this is some kind of game breaking issue which must result in bannings, but people who are deliberately abusing this are exploiting it. Although according to your sig, exploits are the fault of the devs for being imperfect, and players must bear no responsibility for such things. That logic will get you far in life.
While closed beta does catch a number or major bugs and oversights they are relying on their own players to police themselves. That would be nice in an ideal world but some beta testers are just there to find whats broken and hope it stays that way till it reaches the live servers.
Of course the total lack of feedback from the devs when people find these issues doesn't help. If they are consistently ignored when they are reported its kind of an unofficial rubber stamp that they don't really care until everyone knows it and is abusing it. I can run down a long list of bugs that I and my SG mates have reported over the years, in beta, that later became major "exploits" in the game. Most often the only response we would receive, if any, was that the system was working as intended.
To be honest, being told its fine and then later being called a cheater gets very old very fast. -
You people really need to redefine the term exploit. You toss the term around way to loosely. Do you even care that you are basically just calling your own friends/teammates/fellow players a bunch of cheaters?
-
Not supposed to be fun. Its a time sink which rewards the player with 1/2 price crafting anywhere they want to do it.
Yes. I agree having it global would be great, even if its just the accolade and crafting table, but with the email system its kinda moot. I now use two accounts at the same time, one shopper emailing the recipes and salvage to the crafter. -
I know a group who cashed 27 Billion for prestige. and were going to the RMTers for more. Some insanity about a prestige buying war with another SG for #1 on their server. Craziest thing I ever heard but one heck of an inf. sink. I'm surprised NCsoft isn't selling it direct in micro transactions at this point. Both Prestige and Inf. Of course I'd also like to see this game FTP with a micro-transaction model but thats another topic.
If you have enough to match those kinds of numbers I am sure they would be interested. -

Was there a rollback of the e-mail system? I know I cleared mine out last night but now they are back and friend are reporting that they have lost items.

Quote:Always part of the family. Lets kill some #@$#.First of all I'm sorry. I sorry to my SG members and I hope that after abandoning COH the way I did they will at least talk to me from time to time. I have to say I've missed the game and I hope to find what I used to love about this game again. Other than that I'm glad to enjoy this once again. Cheers.
