Hello folks. I'm inexperienced with Mids and with designing builds in general, so I'd be most grateful for any advice or observations. I was trying to softcap defense and DDR without spending a lot more than 500 million. If I seem to have disadvantaged my brute in any noticable way (damage, recharge, endurance...) I'd appreciate any advice.

Mmmm, i don't really understand why you waste so many Slots for +Def-Sets to reach softcap. Softcapping a SR is so easy that you don't have to use +DEF Sets in your Attack-or Defpowers. I would skip them and focus more on usefull Sets with +End/+HP/+Regen and +Recharge.

On the whole this looks pretty solid to me, but you could make a couple of changes. Elude will be practically useless to you as your defenses are high enough to make it redundant so I'd drop it and allocate the slots saved to footstomp and KO blow, or pick up something more useful, such as hasten.

I'd also recommend dropping hurl - it's just not a very good attack, and you could pick up Gloom from soul mastery instead which is far better if you want a ranged option.

@ Atago: Wow, your build really demonstrates how easy it is to softcap SR! I had been reading about the need to cushion the 45 a little, in discussions of cascading failures due to defense debuffs, so I was eyeing the 47 mark. Still, you have shown me just how easy the 45 is to hit with SR. Thanks!

@ Streetcleaner: I was hanging onto Elude as an "Oh Sh#!" sort of thing. As to hurl, I like it for concept reasons, but is it really that bad in terms of pure numbers? I find it recharges fairly quickly, and the animation time doesn't bother me at all. I think I'll keep it regardless, but I am curious as to why you don't think it's very good.

I find the biggest problem with Hurl is the Knockback. Might be funny, but after a time it gets annoying and it is smashing Damage, which is highly resisted in the later game.

With a Softcapped Build Elude is not really needed. Most Debuffs will not hit you and if you get Defense Debuffed you can use an Inspiration.

45% or 47% doesn't make a real Difference. If you are Debuffed your Defense will fall so much that you have to use an Inspiration in both cases.

Does perma-Rage avoid the -DEF hit from the crash, or does this build take the 10 second hit into consideration?

Is it possible to softcap a brute using generic IOs, the Steadfast 3% IO and maneuvers? Just looking for a budget alternative that will work while building inf to do a different build.

This guy has walked over everything but Recluse in the STF. Haven't tanked the RSF yet but thats cause he is blue side for his accolades. Be sure you are prepared to deal with the frequent End crash that comes with maintaining a double stacked Rage. I originally planned to slot over the Sciraccos and one of the Crushing impact sets with Purps but don't see a need and I like being softcapped without weave by lvl 30.

I do find Fire to have better synergy with SR than SS. Rage crash ignored it allows you to softcap even earlier and with less effort. Either way the power creep caused by the i19 fitness changes will make either build totally disgusting for mid lvl TFs

The goal on this build was softcap and 70% recharge by lvl 25. I find that this build plays more like a scrapper while the SS feels more tankish.

Both a total beasts to play.
