  1. All I know is that if you combo it with one of these, you can automate the smell of this complete breakfast.

But what I meant was, can you paint layers of plastic on to the model? That's something you can do with like greenstuff for other modelling.

Edit : Now I'm learning about glass transition temperatures! Friendship is science!

Edit 2 : The answer to my earlier question appears to be no (I'm not sure how you would hand-apply a semisolid with any kind of manageable tool), but I'm looking into resin bonding to those plastics. I don't see any obvious problems although it may also require primer.
  2. Speaking of powered plastic, can you hand-paint layers on to the finished models? (Or, you know, fill in the pitting caused by inattentive acetone usage?) I remember a friend of mine was talking about a corn(?)-based plastic with a really, really low melting point...
  3. I pre-treat. Otherwise I'd have to stop typing sometimes.

I think a short-term, organized boycott of the company's products will help us in the latter two of those.

...although on a more personal level, if I find myself playing a game NCSoft or Nexon produced sometime down the road, I think I'll let it lapse every November. Random noise, to the market.
  9. Star Wars is space fantasy. It has a few trappings of a fictional spacefaring time period, but to me, that doesn't separate it from the trappings of a fictional late roman steel and gunpowder era.

(I think it would be really good for teaming because I have all the pets and I took all the heals, except Suppress Pain, which I skipped for concept reasons and it isn't a real heal anyway. I really wanted Shadow Maul for this character, but it isn't available for Masterminds, so I took Flurry instead, which was okay because I needed it to take Whirlwind anyway. Also, I have INVISIBLE ZOMBIES! How cool is that?!)

  13. A month ago, I would have said epic/patron power pools. I know, I know -- it's a really narrow focus. But I love the constrained freedom they offer. I would have done all kinds of crazy (and quite possibly frequently nonoptimal) things with them. Support powers for Scrappers and Blasters! Shield Defense (lite) for Dominators! Tankier Controllers and Controllier Tanks! Knockup for everybody!

    Right now?

I would have wanted to work at making Paragon Studios capable of being a self-sustaining independent entity. ;*p

Pfft, fine. Although I don't have a ton of time to do builds right now, so it's incomplete and there are some weird slotting choices I probably would change as I finalized it. (Also it doesn't really need Agility Alpha, so if you tweak it a bit you should be able to use the much more logical Spiritual Core. Use Assault Radial and, sigh, I hate to say it, but the ubiquitous Reactive Interface.)

  15. Oh, man. I don't even know how I'm going to remember everything I've wondered about. Can't we do "Buy The Devs Drinks And Talk To Them About Lore Stuff"?

Okay, okay, here goes. I didn't play the SSAs or anything on Beta (I didn't even complete DA or the SSAs on Live, I will over the next few months) so apologies if some of this stuff is already answered. Also I numbered them but some of them are really like two or three questions.

    1) Praetorian Weaver-1 and Arachnos?

    2) What was the deal with Spark Blade (well, and the rest of WISDOM)? Nobody ever had those powers; who created a hero that couldn't be represented in-game, and why?

    3) How many of Omega team survived? Were any others Riktified?

    4) Were we ever going to see the Rikti homeworld? Like, as a city zone. (Maybe even peacefully!)

    5) Were we ever going to be able to travel back in time and help out a fledgling Freedom Phalanx? (DUDE I JUST HAD THE BEST IDEA FOR AN SSA/INCARNATE SA)

    6) Was there ever going to be an underwater zone/city? There's always an underwater city. Why didn't we have an underwater city? ...Oh, right, water. Well, fine, the first part of the question stands.

    7) I almost don't want to know the answer to this because in my head it's "yes," but were we ever going to run into Aaron Walker (Lightspeed -- a Praetorian contact) again? Praetorian Penelope Yin was in his head and we already know she saved one guy from death... or, there's that obvious Dark Ward snafu...

    8) So, okay, uh... what was up with Mender Silos? Like, we got confirmation from him that he *used to be* Lord Nemesis. Fine, whatever -- but already in our time Nemesis is supposedly a decrepit old dude who needs his cyborg mech suits to keep him alive. Silos looks like a thirty-something; is he just an android? Or... like... what's up with that? (Was Mender Silos just a Nemesis Automaton who *thought* he was Lord Nemesis?)

    9) Where were the rest of the Menders from? Was it mostly just "random Primals," or did they have cool backstories we mostly didn't see? And hey, what was the *real* story with Twilight's Son?

    10) Speaking of mech armor, was there ever a discussion of a Giant Robot/War Mech EAT?

    11) It basically looked like Scirocco was finally going blueside. What was going to happen to Arachnos? Were they going to get another lieutenant? Or get replaced as the big bad by Wade (+?). Was a hero going to fall? (Like, really fall, not just develop Super Angst, I'M LOOKING AT YOU MALAISE AND MANTICORE.)

    12) How did we stop the Praetorian AVs from teleporting to their hospitals when we killed them?

    13) Back Alley Brawler : Robot hands or piston fist gloves?

I hate quote sigs, but if I didn't already have something there I was attached to, I'd take this one.

And Canny, can't you just like... swim to Korea? It's just *one* ocean. Not even the whole thing!

Oh yeah? I was contemplating just trying to heal through psi (although of course all the pool defense powers will give me a *little* bit of protection) -- is there anything in particular you're using to get such a high value?

    I feel lost

And don't forget, no matter what happens, there are communities forming now for all of us who have been here. You don't have to follow anything religiously, but... you know, keep in touch, and we will too.

There are plenty of groups on Facebook and the like, but the real clearinghouse right now is Titan Network (http://www.cohtitan.com/forum/index.php).

    False Hope

I think you have good intentions yourself, MP. But I think you stopped there. I understand your grief, but frame this for a moment.

There are a few different paths of action going on here. There are quite a few people who are simply, as you allege, in denial -- a natural stage of grief; I wonder what you think this post will accomplish for them?

There are those who are clinging to false hopes and looking to make a deal -- some kind of bargain with somebody, anybody, to keep this thing alive just as it was FIVE DAYS AGO. Another stage of grief, and these people are part of no organized movement and will fade away. And again; what are you hoping to accomplish?

So I know, you're upset. But there's no sense in directing that at fellow-mourners. You're stuck in the same cycle they are.

And then there are those of us who are dedicated to fighting to save Paragon City in whatever way we can -- even if, in the end, it's merely a community of refugees and ex-pats, settling down in new lands. We're simply not leaping to that stage yet. My grief for this game ended two days ago, although I know I'll feel it again acutely when the plug is pulled in three months. In the meantime -- and in the time following that -- I'm dedicated to preserving every great thing about this place I can.

Win or lose, the fight gives us meaning, and our goals are worthy. Or as Canny said elsewhere:

Yeah. There's going to be a lot of doors closed -- politely after tea or rapidly and with great force -- in our faces. Take your love, pick it up, dust it off, hold it up to the next gal or guy.

And practice the big eyes. You're gonna need the big eyes.
  23. Yeah, that's the line I was referring to :

"Leonard: We're always the good guys. In D&D, we're lawful good. In City of Heroes, we're the heroes. In Grand Theft Auto, we pay the prostitutes promptly and never hit them with a bat.
Sheldon: Those women are prostitutes? You said they were raising money for stem cell research."
