1) How often do you PuG instead of grouping within your SG or friends?
The only time I seek out PuGs is for zone events (Rikti invasion, etc.). If someone invites me to a PuG, and I'm not already in the middle of something, I'll usually accept.
2) How often do you group with friends and fill the rest of the group with PuGs?
Never, if I'm leading. I'd rather just go ahead and run with a duo or trio than waste time looking for more.
3) How often do your PuG members do what you feel needs to be done without being told to do so?
4) How often do you find yourself telling PuG members what you feel they should be doing (for the good of the current team/session)?
I don't generally tell people what to do. If things get unbearable (i.e., one team wipe after another), I'll just leave.
5) How often do you find yourself adding PuG members to your friends/global friends, and if those lists are full, using other methods of remembering them?
I usually only add someone if I know them from outside the game.
6) How often do you group with complete jerks in a PuG?
I don't think I've ever run into someone who's behavior was so obnoxious that I couldn't just laugh it off. -
Have the devs said specifically why they're putting it back? I have to suspect there's a reason besides player complaints. If griping is all it took, we'd have had an accept/decline button for Speed Boost years ago.

Quote:We need a "Hey! I'm walking here!" emote.I actually instinctively yelled at a car who had seemingly honked at me in game and then felt rather silly for it.

I'll use the search options to narrow it down to missions that are my level and solo-friendly, and then look at the descriptions to see what catches my eye and to make sure it isn't a farm.
-
I'm still getting it too. Try jumping backwards, that usually will get me unstuck.

Quote:At first glance, I read that as "immortal women", and thought you had some kind of Highlander fetish.I'm getting mightily annoyed that starting up the game doesn't trigger a bevy of lovely, immoral young women knocking on my door asking if they can help me out with anything...

Comics writer Gail Simone (Wonder Woman, Birds of Prey) used to play, but I haven't seen her on in a while.

I'm a lazy badge-hunter; I like getting them, but I don't go to extraordinary lengths to do it. I always grab the easy ones, like Exploration and History. If I'm in the right place at the right time for a Zone Event, I'll go participate. If I notice I'm getting close to achieving a Defeat badge, I might farm a little to push it over the top.
I dabbled in AE arc-making when it was first introduced (see sig) but got kind of burned out on it. I do play AE missions a fair amount, since some of them are pretty clever and the tickets are good for things like rare salvage.
I've never PvPed at all. -
- If there's a boss I can't defeat. After 3 or 4 trips to the hospital, it's time to move on.
- Clicking multiple glowies at once, since I solo a lot of the time.
- Finding glowies or hostages in large Oranbega or outdoor maps.
- The "Stop 30 Fir Bolg from entering the gate" mish, and that other Croatoa one where you protect the stonehenge from the Red Caps. Standing around waiting for things to spawn is not my idea of a good time.
- Escorting suicidal idiots like Lady Jane or General Aarons. -
Hero: "So, my old arch-enemy...we meet again. This time, you will not get the better of me!"
Bartender: "Buddy, I've never seen you before in my life."
Hero: "Not you, I was talking to that bottle of tequila."

Quote:By that logic: In PvE zones, you're still playing Player versus Player. It's just that the other player happens to be a computer.Does anyone remember what PvE stands for?
I'll help you out here. PvE stands for Player versus Environment.
In a PvP zone, other players attacking you is PART of the environment. -
Quote:No, they wanted to earn it without PvPing, which isn't the same thing. Nobody has said that getting Shivans and Nukes should be easy, just that they don't like having to deal with PvP to get them. For all intents and purposes, PvP is an entirely different game than PvE, and not everyone wants to play it. It's like having special PvE goodies that are unlocked by solving sudoku puzzles. I'm not here to play sudoku, why are the devs trying to draw me into a sudoku game instead of the one I signed up for? They didn't want to earn the pvp reward, they wanted it given to them on a silver platter.
The Marketplace is another side game that not everyone cares to play. However, the stuff you can get at the market is also available through other means: mission drops, merits, AE tickets, begging in Atlas Parketc. If there was an alternate way to get the PvP zone stuff, the problem would largely be solved. But as long as you can only get the goodies in those zones, you're going to keep getting people in there who don't really want to be there, and both sides will continue to be frustrated.
"Why don't you just leave me alone?" and "Why don't you just fight back?" are both unreasonable expectations, created by the devs' unfortunate decision to try and trick square pegs into going into round holes. -

Quote:That's pretty much my view. I think it was a mistake to put PVE goodies in the PVP zones. And I'll never understand the mindset of someone who will repeatedly gank a target that can't/won't fight back. But as long as those are the rules, I'll live with it. I sneak into the zones to get the explore badges -- don't usually bother trying for Shivans or Nukes, cause I don't want to press my luck. I haven't been attacked yet (thank you, Issue 13, for thinning out the zones!"I don't like PvP, I choose not to engage in it but this is a PvP zone and I'm not going to complain about people using the zone for its intended purpose."
). If I ever am, I'll leave and come back later. It's annoying, but so is hunting for hostages on an Oranbega map, and I cope with that.

I start slotting common IOs as soon as I can, just so I don't have to worry about them going red. (Plus I find DOs really annoying -- the names aren't very descriptive, and I can never remember which one does what.) Somewhere in my 30s, I start shopping for cheap sets. Don't usually have enough inf or patience to go for any of the really expensive stuff. By the time I hit 50, I'm ready to retire the character and start a new one.

So, any predictions on how this will affect the market? With lowbies having more money to throw around, does that mean more inflation?
-
Quote:I'm especially looking forward to these two QoL improvements. Oh, the hours I've wasted, looking for that last glowie or hostage tucked away in some remote corner...UI that shows the last objective in a mission
The ability to send Inf to yourself via e-mail
I do wonder how emailing inf will affect the market, though. With the money flowing more freely, will prices shoot up even more? -

The thing about the zombie invasions is, with a decent-sized team, you can usually get all four badges in one go. And once you've done that, there's not much incentive to do any more of them. I do get a kick out of them, though... it's fun just seeing a giant mob of heroes whaling on bad guys, like a George Perez drawing come to life.
The Rikti invasions still seem popular. At least, I usually don't have any trouble finding a team for them. -
-
Nope, not interested in PvP at all, in any game. I don't mind that it's there for those who like it (although it does irk me that they try to "bribe" us into PvPing by putting PvE goodies in those zones).

ReclusesPhantom gave "How The Other Half Lives" a 4/5, saying "The arc was fun to play through, very solo-friendly and had a good and lighthearted storyline."

"I know the devs are trying to out-do Champions Online, but some of these new travel powers are just weird..."

Thanks very much for the review! So as not to derail your thread too much, I posted a couple of comments in my arc thread:
