I was hoping for Dual Pistols or claws for brutes before the next invasion so I actually gave a damn. I don't have any characters that I care enough about to suffer thru the lagfest that is a Riki invasion.
I appreciate the effort Devs, but can't understand even having these events if your servers can't handle them. Between the rubber banding, D/Cs, and complete lag.....they really aren't any fun. -
Ahh...my bad. I had missed that.
I think alot of people like the idea of a dual pistols character that also uses hand to hand combat in some way, that's why you will always have people asking for dual pistols scrappers. The bottomline is Dual Pistols does not work as a set for a melee AT. Period. I use to be on the side that felt if claws could have two ranged attacks and an AoE, then Dual pistols could work for scrappers as well. I have since realized that line of reasoning to be utter nonsense and I know now that DP for Scrappers is just a bad idea.
All that said, I like my EAT idea because you could take your DP character the more traditional all ranged route, or you could get some cool hand to hand attacks with extra defenses and fill that craving of a DP scrapper type character. SoAs have proven that you can have an EAT with decent defenses, ranged attacks, and melee attacks without being over powered.
Like I said in my OP, I'm 99% sure DP will be a blaster/Corruptor set, but I think an SoA type EAT that uses Dual Pistol would be a much better way to set off Going Rogue with a bang. -
I haven't played blueside in 3 years. Redside is better IMO. Quality over quanity.

Also, not to sidetrack my own thread, but the current TP team from teleporation needs to go. It is ridiculous and really serves no purpose at all. It should definetly be replaced with the version you get as a Vet reward called Assemble the team that actually TPs any teamate on your map to your location.
Just had to throw that in there while I'm talking about the travel pools. -
I think we need a 5th travel power that would give you about 1/3 the speed of Super Speed, and 1/3 the jump hieght of Super Jump. It would be nice for "natural" type characters. I know you can just take hurdle and Sprint and slot them out and get IO bonuses and get the same effect, but then your borking your build to accomplish what one travel power could do. Here's my idea.
Superb Mobility
1. Hook - This is a quick punch that can cause disorientation. Could use the animation of Dark Melee's Smite.
2. Quicken - While active this toggle provides a slight boost to run speed, minor defensive boost, and resist immobilization. Basicly just like Combat Jumping, but a slight boost to runspeed instead of jump height.
3. Advanced Movement - This toggle boosts your run speed as well as your jump height. Your extensive training combined with peak conditioning allows you to move around like an extreme acrobat.
4. Focused - This click power would give you very minor buffs to recharge, accuracy, and damage for 100 seconds with a 300 second recharge. Like Hasten you will lose some endurance when it crashes. Hasten gives 70% boost to recharge, so this power would be like 20-25%, rage gives 80% damage buff and 20% tohit buff, so this would be more like 30% damage buff and 10% tohit buff. Basicly a weak Rage and a weak Hasten combined into one pretty decent power. -
This might be a known issue and I'm not even sure how deep it goes, but let me explain my issue.
I was trying to make a mission with three AVs and and a bunch of Leuitenants. They are all melee based using Dual Blades, Claws, and Katana. What I noticed is they just seem to get stuck on one attack. The Katana AV got stuck on Soaring Dragon, which has a long recharge, so he would just stand there doing nothing for 10-15 seconds and then use Soaring Dragon over and over.
The Dual Blades AV was stuck on Nimble Slice, which has a very quick recharge, so there was no standing around. He just did nimble slash over and over nonstop.
I added some Leuits with Speed Boost to see if this would knock the AVs out of thier repetative loop, but no luck. They all were custom with 6-7 attacks picked. They just wouldn't use them for some reason.
Is this a known issue? It makes AE mission very boring. -

Story wise, why IS there an AE building in RWZ anyways?
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't see how an AE building in RWZ is any stranger than an AE building in any other zone. -
Gotta label this with a big fat WHO CARES!?!
Can we have the new booster pack, issue 16 news, or Going Rogue new plz. Ty. -

How are pistols being considered melee, I can't wrap my head around this, do you smack people with them!? :P Blaster and ruptors o.o
[/ QUOTE ]
Are you refering to the idea in my OP? or someone elses post? The pistols in my idea clearly shoot bullets and are ranged weapons.....so I'm not understanding where your coming from. -

It is funny you should suggest this. Perhaps the devs should just make it a blaster power set in the upcoming Going Rogue expansion. .... .... .... Oh wait they have.

Where did it say Dual Pistols will be a blaster set again? Please, I'd love the link to a redname stating that.
Also, did you read the very first thing I wrote in my OP? Here, try again...."I'm mainly just bored and dreaming cause I'm like 99% sure Dual Pistols will be a power set for Corruptors, Blasters, and Defenders....but IF it was to be a Rogue Agent epic AT to go along with Going Rogue instead, this is what I'd like it to look like."
Reading comprehension FTW! -

I'd be fine with a fast cast time/fast recharging letahl set. I think a combo system would be better, but I'd be happy with both. I see no epic letdown that you speak of.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well I mean I expect it to be Lethal and/or Smashing, possibly with some random damage type thrown in for balance on a certain power like Flamethrower. I was speaking more on how the actual powers were designed and how they perform.
In other words...at this point in the game's life, I don't want to see a Katana -> Broadsword treatment. Dual Pistols have been salivated over for years now and they deserve some distinct flavor...not just an AR knockoff.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ahhh, I see. I agree with you there. I hate how so many power sets use the same exact animations and such. That's why I like Dual Blades so much is it just looks so much different than everyy other set.
I think Dual Pistols will have a very fast "feel" to it. I would also be very disappointed if it just felt like AR with different animations. -
I tried to get in last night on Freedom and RWZ one was full. I only had a short window to play and couldn't get in....but I couldn't help but wonder if there was a big raid happening, or AE action had picked up. Was anyone there that would know? Haven't seen RWZ full in quite awhile.

I think you need like two full teams to do Hami....at least that's how it was last time I did it in 2006.
-
I'm thinking of trying this Wed. night around 8 pm CST. We only have four so far, so I'll need to find many more before tommorrow night....but that is the plan.
-
Are Soul Trapped Gems really going for 21 mil each, or is someone just playing games? Either way it's pretty ridiculous.
-
I very much agree with the OP's idea. I really enjoy street sweeping, but you can never find a full team to sweep with cause it just isn't worth it as far as reward. This would add another viable option for teaming to the game and I think it's great.
Also, I don't see this as farming. Running around cleaning the streets in a superhero game seems like the right thing to be doing...how is that farming? Maybe my version of farming varies from other folks, but to me farming is finding/making the easiest mission possible and then doing it over and over. I'm sure some folks would find some sort of exploit and try to "farm" certain areas, but so what? Farmers find exploits in every fascet of the game.
I like how alive the game feels during Halloween events when there are so many people outside fighting in the streets. I think this would give us a little bit more of that feeling all the time. Good stuff. -
Well, we have two.
If we have enough folks post interest on this thread I'll make the time to lead it. Honestly I've never even ran a redside Hami raid. Last time I did a Hami was bluesdie like 2-3 years ago. Hopefully we get some experienced Hami vets on here.
-
Actually I have a bunch of lvl 1-15 SOs that I have collected off the black market, and I trancfer them to new characters quite often. Even with SOs slotted, lvls 1-12 is not "pathetically easy". I just don't waste so much time missing and resting.
-
I'm horrible at forming things, but I'd really like to get a villain side Hami raid going sometime soon. If your interested please post here. If you'd like to be in charge of setting a date/time and keeping track of everyone who wants in...that would be awesome.
-
I think training Enh are useless and should be taken out back and shot. They should just have DOs go from lvl 1- 25. Training enghancments are part of the problem. I tend to slot my first two attacks with 3 accuracy and 3 end reduction right off the bat....and it's like I slotted nothing at all. I still miss constantly and run out of endurance every fight. Having usless enhancments is not helping the early game.

This isn't CO, and that isn't quite how their end recovery works.
*snip
[/ QUOTE ]
Really? It's pretty obvious this isn't CO, way to state the obvious. Also, I know that isn't how thier endurance recovery works. That's why I said it's KINDA like CO. Giving everyone a low damage/quick recharging attack that boosts your recovery rate is not a bad idea, so I don't really get the purpose of your remark. It seemed negative, but I have no idea why. -
I think everyone's first attack that you are forced into should increase your recovery rate by 100% for 5 seconds. This attack is almost always very low damage with a very fast recharge, so giving it a built in recovery boost would allow you to keep attacking when you get too low on endurance, just do much less damage and at the same time build your endurance back up twice as fast as normal. This would come in handy not just at the low levels, but from 1-50.
It's kinda how CO works, but I figure they are stealing about 90% of the things that make this game cool, so why not borrow one of thier better ideas?
