    This build is rough and there are a few things I would still change. It also is going to be slightly endurance challenged but overall, its pretty solid IMHO. I hope that it gives you some good ideas
  5. Well, there are a few things that I would personally change if I were making this build... but as I said, your build looks solid enough to do what you intend to do now...
  6. Looks like a pretty decent build. I would think that you should be able to handle a smashing/lethal boss like battle maiden pretty solidly. You will run into some problems with any AV that doesnt use those damage types. All I can say here is that depending on your budget, this is a pretty solid build for your stated purpose.

  10. What about electric armor for a secondary? I haven't played the set so I don't know about its survivability. Although it is a resistance set looking at it, it may have some issues against +4/x8... just further food for thought

    EDIT: perhaps something like this... I tried to add some defenses to the build and its pretty rough but it may be fun to do something other than shields again.....

  12. Of course, there is no reason to argue the truth about it. Spines IS the bottom of the heap for ST damage in scrapper sets. What I said is that a spines scrapper can have a decent ST attack chain (which it can, at least IMO) that tends to do more ST damage than a tanker FM ST attack chain (although that may be debatable since spines really is quite low on the ST attack chain spectrum). I agree that there are other sets that are far more suited to the purpose stated in the original post, What I was trying to do was expose the OP to some out of the box considerations.

    I apologize if I was offensive in my presentation but I wanted to try to satiate the OP's obvious enjoyment of AoE damage to focus on the boss killing stated on the post. If I read too much into it then I am probably wrong and that happens on the internet all the time. I was just trying to post a contrasting point of view.

    Since he has a tanker buddy with him, any small splash agro will not be a problem on a /da scrapper...

    I stand by my original recommendation though.. do firey melee if you want, that has a significantly better single target chain and does great damage, but /da would be a great choice for your duo IMHO.
  14. Why do one when you can do both?

    Spines/DA is a very well known combo for AOE damage but it also can have a respectable single target attack chain. It will not under any circumstances compete with DA/SD but it will definitely belt out much bigger numbers than you are used to...

  15. Looking over your build, I am uncertain what it is that you are trying for. You have a nice batch of defensive numbers but that doesnt say team support to me... You have really low endureance recovery numbers that will make it tough to support a team. A few suggestions that hopefully will not break the bank for you:

    For block of ice, go with 5 pieces of the lockdwon set including the chance for extra mag proc.

    For both shields you can go with only the res, res/end, res/rech from red fortune. this both frees up a lot of slots but gives the same performaces effectively. I an not certain why you are going for the entire set in either of those powers.

    Same basic observation for dispersion bubble except I would add the endurance enh frm red fortune as well.

    Drop the fighting pool, add the leadership pool

    Slot jack with four or five pieces of the expedient reinforcements set.

    Slot repulsion bomb with 5 pieces of the positrons blast set

    Drop resuscisitate down to a single slot and put a rech redux in it. Add an interrupr reduction if you really feel the overwhelming urge.

    Add 2 slots to stamina and get 4 pieces of the performance shifter set most importantly the proc

    slot glacier with five pieces ofthe lockdown set emphasizing pieces that have recharge.

    Remember that frostbite and ice slick should usually be used seperately. I would urge you to drop frostbite and get chillblain instead. It is a boon on teams dealing with AVs.

    If you are trying to make a super defensive build then that really doesnt sit right with your stated purpose of building a team support toon.
  16. IMHO if you are taking much damage on an ill/rad then you are doing something wrong. While the mex protection from the psi pool is nice, I find that on my ill/rad I so rarely am the target that it is largely wasted. I respecced into the ice pool for the fast single target attack and hibernate. I personally really like ice storm but a lot of people do not care for rain type attacks.

    Beyond that, fire is also quite attractive with its resist based shield for taking any splash damage down a few degrees of intensity and the single target and aoe attacks are super fast casting with added damage as a side effect.

    Beyond that, the only other thing I could say is that the primal poolis nice for those who have endurance problems (not likely on an ill/rad.)

  18. yeah for hp I am at 3169 atm seems pretty strong... As for the rest, I have been considering dropping resurgence and SoW for manuvers and assault. I am concerned about carrying that many toggles though (that would make 9 total running all the time)

    oh BTW does anyone know if the healing portion of the recharge alpha slot helps with regen?
  19. Yeah you are right, there... it really is the debffs that get me down. I can be far far above the agro cap on pretty much anything else with this tank and it doesnt even tickle funny....

    I guess there probably is no good way to avoid debuffs except by building for really high defensive numbers which probably costs far mroe recharge in mybuild than I am willing to give up...

    Guess Ill just stick to eating inspirations for the alpha strike...
  20. Hi fellow tankers! I have a really nice WP/fire tank that is my main. I play it on +0/x8 all the time. Most of the time I have very few problems. I just hurl myself headlong into the thickest part of the mob and roll my face on the attack buttons until all baddies are dead. There are a few villain groups that tend to wipe me out -

    Longbow
    Arachnos sometimes
    malta sappers and dark ring mistress give me slight fits but I just spank the hell out of them first now.

    I am alpha slotted for recharge to get my AOE attacks up more quickly but I am game to change it if there is compelling enough reason.

  21. They do IIRC but from an efficiency standpoint they have twice the health of a lieutenant. In the time it takes you to polish the boss off you could be most of the way through the next spawn. On ALL of my farm toons I run +0/x8 No bosss because it if far more efficient on my fire/kin controller my wp/fire tank and my spines/dark scrapper.

    The biggest point to burning through and getting max purple drops is dropping massive numbers of mobs as fast as possible. It's all about kill rate, nothing else.
  22. I would not but mostly because imps are useful in more situations than they are useless IMHO. Without that mindset, you clearly find them to be useless in most if not all situations, I can see you electing to make a build without them. Only one final word on that though. Pets can take different set from anything else in your build, you may be able to find set bonuses that are worthwhile in addition to the occasional use that imps could offer.
  23. I pretty much always run with my imps out but I will not make the effort to resummon them until they are all dead. They are useful to help you buzz through minions but the actual damage they add is fractional at best on a ****.

    I would say you pretty much answered your own question though. Farming +2/x8 efficiently without imps just means that you don't need them. I agree that they are mindless idiots Nd can only be trusted to aground the entire map at the worst possible moment.

  25. Well, I for one really, REALLY do not like hvng endurance issues. I decided to build a scrapper that would never have any sort of problem. I also wanted something that would be able to belt out plenty of AoE DPS. The only thng I could possibly want to add to this build isa tad of global recahrge. I have very little in this build. As of this moment, this build is about 80% complete, only big things I still need is most of teh ragnarok set and the numina's recovery unique. Once it is done I will hbae to see if there is any dark armor build with enough endurance recovery to satisfy me!
