Or I can choose not to buy it at all. I have a boatload of points, which has little to no bearing on the fact I think they are too expensive. If they go on sale, I might buy if they are cheap enough.

This can happen on any task force.
Step 1) Have the leader log out and back in. If that doesn't fix it....
Step 2) Have EVERYONE log out and back in. I've never seen that fail to fix it.

You have a choice about not playing the iTrials, too.

'Bargain' is a value judgement and entirely subjective. I have "many characters on many servers" and I think it's too expensive.

Let me explain something. Every aspect of everything in existence has people who don't like it.

Also, your reference to "the paying subscribers" is quite arrogant. Do not presume to speak for all the subscribers.

Perhaps those were actually Christmas tree COSTUMES.

I have a USB mouse plugged into a USB to PS/2 adapter. Why? Because I have 2 computers and a KVM switch hooked up.

No. All the server does is send a message to your computer saying, "Play this sound file." The music is generated on your system. I haven't noticed anything odd, but I'll pay particular attention now.
  10. Okay, we missed this SF the first time through because there was emergency maintenance that Saturday. I didn't want to do it the following weeks since the next two SFs were also the Weekly Strike Targets. So, now we'll go back and get this one done.

Pirates of the Sky - AKA Silver Mantis SF

    Requires 4 players.
    Contact is in Sharkhead Isle

    2.
    3. Buckshot 71 - Sorak (blaster, I think)

A lot of creatures do this now. CoT Behemoths grunt when you beat them down. I've noticed it on a couple others also.

Sounds like it was poorly phrased. Each unlock will unlock ONE slot on ONE server. You can unlock one slot each on 7 servers, or 7 slots on one server or any combination thereof.
  13. On a related note, you can also purchase unlocks *PER TOON* from the Astral Merit vendor in Ouroboros. It puts the unlock email in your mailbox and you can claim it from whatever toon needs it. I had a character where I had to have an aura at level one, before CoH:Freedom launched.

    VIP to Premium

Firstly, you've obviously done your research. Every place you stated how you think it works, you are correct.

What happens to IOs slotted in characters I keep playing? Are they grayed out and inactive until I buy the IO license?
    Yes, yes and yes.
To be clear, the IO's will not function AT ALL. You don't just lose any set bonuses or special effects, the enhancements will do nothing at all.

Yeah, for some people this is true. Anyone who doesn't care about Incarnate stuff, for example, doesn't lose much if they drop to Premium. Let's see, you would also have to buy each Signature Story Arc individually. There are some other minor things that I don't recall offhand.

And the business sense thing doesn't fly, when Champions offers their subscribers all content for 'free'.
It flies just fine. This is not a F2P game and this game is not that game anyway.

It's like a magazine subscription, I subscribe for the year, I get a lower price than if I buy each issue at the newstand.
Yep, works the same way here. It only costs me $11 per month since I buy for a year at a time.

The current model is counter to that, doesn't repay loyalty, which is not good business sense.
Well, that part about not repaying loyalty is false, so the comment about business sense is irrelevant.

Because you buy them from the Astral vendor in Ouroboros. Some things are sold there, some in the market.

And? You can't afford to buy everything in Target or Walmart, either. How is this a problem?

Perhaps. There are a number of arcs in the game that can be started at a level but the contact will not allow you to complete the arc until you are a higher level. Maria Jenkins' old Praetorian arc, for example.
  21. It has robots and it has punching. That's always a good starting point.

The means exists. Whether or not it is "reasonable" is entirely subjective.

    Pretty much.

The answer isn't a pretty one, but giving free transfers, overall, is going to take less money out of their pocket than giving 800 more points. The transfers are useful to some people, and they have a specific price when you actually buy them, so they can say, "Look how generous we are."

Sure, most people would rather have the points as it would be of more value to them. However, for simple business reasons, I would venture to say that is not an option. The equation is not Server Transfer vs 800 Points. The equation is Server Transfer vs Nothing (or something else of value to only a limited group).
