Shards are peculiar. It seems that the game checks for each person on the team to see if a shard drops, THEN randomly picks someone to reward it to. This would explain how you can get multiple shards from a single defeat - the check for each player results in multiple shards and they end up going to the same person.

True, but irrelevant. The DEFAULT status is OFF. If the game remembers nothing about the state of the character, then all toggles are off.
I never timed the animations, but I have one character that runs 12 (dark/dark tank with Fighting and Leadership pools). -

Link to patch notes that went live TODAY.
I haven't heard anything about refunds. -
Quote:See my previous post for the reason.you got to be kidding me, another week with no staff fighting? whats the deal with the devs making us wait this long, we have been waiting for staff fighting since last year! and we aleready see that some of the NPC have it already, so whats the hold up? is it the way the staff sounds like thats keeping them from releasing it? thats got to be the dumbest excuse ever, who cares about the way it sounds, as long as its working well they can easily change the sound effects of it after its been out on live servers, seriously if i have to wait another week for something that is CLEARLY ready to go live, im just going to stop playing until it comes out
If necessary, I can edit it to make it more whiny. -
Quote:They did answer, multiple times. It's a marketing decision to space out the powerset releases, rather than releasing them in bunches with long gaps between them.I'm getting so frustratedly fed up with waiting... Honestly..
The set was obviously ready enough to be put into the game in the hands of NPC enemy groups, it's been functional on Beta for ages.. Why was it held back in the first place?
When are we getting it? Why havent it been released weeks ago?
at the VERY LEAST you could answer those simple questions, especially about -when- we're getting it...
As for when, Tuesday (the 17th). -

Quote:With good reason. Now that I have a ton of account/character items sitting in there, the 'you have mail' red text is always active and, therefore, a completely useless feature.Since no body actually uses mail for communicating (at least I don't
),
To the OP: sounds reasonable, but not likely to ever get implemented. Are you aware that you can cut and paste in email, including the address field? If I'm going to send multiple emails to myself, I type my global once, then highlight it with the mouse and Ctrl-C to copy it. After that, you can hit Ctrl-V in each 'To' field to paste your global. -

Quote:<shrug> I guess you need to be defensive, since you DO get attacked. Maybe it's because you sometimes post incredibly stupid things like:1) Yes, I am defensive, but only because the forums are filled with people who believe "I don't have a problem so your problem must not be real, thus I think you're insane".
Quote:or when I have been seriously BLEEPED off by a particular "bug"(more like a "feature" at this point all too often) or the sheer volume of bugs they have let stay in this game or created almost intentionally.

Quote:No one is saying you can't have a good idea. But when you start drawing conclusions about why something was done a certain way, or telling us how easy it is to change, then you are spouting pure drivel. So don't tell me "you can't possibly have a good idea", especially because "it's so obvious that they wold have done it if it was right", because they "miss the obvious" more than you think, simply because "we're all human".
Quote:At least, I have ideas and try to figure it out while you just hand-wave it away as "standard code rant". -
Actually, you're a newb. It's short for 'newbie' and refers to someone who is new to something, and therefore lacking in knowledge/experience. The term 'noob' refers to someone who THINKS they know about something and therefore refuses to listen or learn.
When you say you start the game, you should actually be starting the NCSoft Launcher. Is that what you are doing? Exactly what application are you launching and where is it installed? Right-click the desktop shortcut and select PROPERTIES. Tell us what is in the TARGET box on the SHORTCUT tab.
Also, how did you install the game? Download? DVD? Steam? -

There's also the "N P C" channel, which is a cross-server help channel. For further details, see the 'Mentor Project' link in my signature.

1. When is the best time to do the weekly strike target? I ask this because as far as I know this is the fastest way of getting a notice of the well. I have tried queuing up using the LFG system but was not able to get into the weekly strike target.
The LFG system only recently became usable for regular task forces. I don't know anyone who uses it, though. I would suggest going to the forum section for your server and seeing what the active global channels are. There are probably several specifically related to task forces and incarnate content (which the WST is). On Infinity, we have "Infinity Incarnates", "Infinity TFs", etc.
2. Does anyone these days do the weakly strike target? I ask because I think that many already have all alpha slots maxed. So they do not need anything from the weekly strike target.
Oh, sure we do. This week is the 1st respec trial - I ran the villain one 5 times this week and the hero one once. I normally play heroes more, but the red respec is so much less tedious.
Don't forget that the weekly strike target is also great for NON-50s. If you're not 50, you get a massive XP bonus at the end (3-5 bars, depending on TF length), as well as double reward merits. If you're 50, you get the Notice and the double reward merits. I run the WST several times every week (on different characters) since the bonus is so good.
3. Do I have to change servers in order to get the job done?
I doubt it. Ask in your server section what channels you need to be on.
4. What trials outside of the first two (have done them already) can I take part in. Where I actually would be able to contribute to the league? I do not want to be a dead weight that cannot do a single thing. I like earning what I get in a game. I am willing to fight for it.
Personally, I don't like to run any except the first two until I have at least one level shift. I would not want to run Minds of Mayhem or Dilemma Diabolique unless I had 2 or 3 shifts. This varies by AT and powers. A force field defender gets the same effect from his bubbles whether he is 50 or 50+3. A scrapper (like your character) will be doing less damage and taking more damage if he is a lot lower than the enemy. -
Quote:I recall a statement by Benjamin Bernanke, along the lines of: If my comments seem particularly clear to you, then you have probably misunderstood me.It seems pretty obvious to me why they have not fixed a lot of issues, especially ones they claim are "low priority", given the nature of humans.
It seems "obvious" to you because you have no actual knowledge of the systems you're discussing. -
Were you on a team? There's a known bug where the badge doesn't award correctly (consistently) unless you are solo. A fix is already in the works.

Okay, this is our last task force before we go back to the beginning.
Saturday, April 14 at 1PM Eastern
The Praetorian Offensive (AKA Tin Mage II Task Force)
Level 50
Requires 8 to start.
Contact is in the Rikti War Zone.
This is a co-op task force so all alignments can participate.
NOTE: For this task force, you need to have your Alpha slot unlocked AND SLOTTED (even tier 1 is enough). Otherwise, you suffer a -4 level debuff which makes you essentially useless against level 54 enemies. In order to have an active Alpha slot power, you must be VIP.
BTW, we will NOT be trying to get every badge. As far as I can tell, 'Hacker' and 'Midnight Dodger' are just about mutually exclusive. Getting Hacker leaves people scattered all over the warehouse, making it almost impossible to take out Director 11 before his invisible mine-layers start blowing people up. We can try for one OR the other. We'll see who needs which badge.
1. Ironblade - Capt Tom Tachyon (time/rad defender)
2. AngelicaVenger - Shadow-Ripper (brute?)
3. Elllls - Neuropotence (???)
4. Asgardian Blade - same name (scrapper)
5. Saint Jon - Heated Exchange (blaster)
6. DaShuk2381 - Emerald Lass (emp/rad defender)
7. GATE-keeper - Anita Hero (tank)
8.
Doctor A Science may (or may not) grace us with his presence. -
Well, that was a badgey day.
We got Master of Apex TF on the first run.
Such a short TF, so we did Death From Below - and got all the badges.
Then we did Drowning in Blood - and got all the badges.
Since we didn't get Gata and Turbospeed in the first run, we did Apex again and got the Master badge AGAIN.
Bam! -
Quote:Just like I said in another thread; you're spouting nonsense again. You don't know why they make the business decisions they do - you're just making things up.They just haven't done it already for the same reason that stops them from fixing bugs that don't completely break an important part of the game...."it doesn't make us more money, so it isn't high priority".
That is what is going to bite them in the end with every part of this game. They neglect things in favor of new things for more money. -
Quote:umm......Contrary to popular belief, people don't need "experience as game developers" to know when the code of the game is a steaming pile of crap. They just have to see the evidence in the visible output(i.e. the game doesn't play right).
There would not be all the bugs and inefficiencies if the game was properly coded, especially given its age.
Well, don't spout such nonsense and people won't jump on you. Geeze!
Seriously, most of your posts are flat-out, nerd-ragey rants. Make more constructive posts and you won't get such negative reactions. -
There was an entire SG of people who all used the name Parallel Illusion. With all those I's and L's, that's a lot of possible names.
