Paragon Market and Incarnate Powers
As far as the market and such goes - the market server for each set of servers (Live, Test, and Beta) are all separate. And Test and Beta are hooked up to "dummy cards" and will not actually charge you anything. So go ahead and buy the points you need.

I am asking questions concerning the Paragon Market. I have looked at it on VIP Beta it has 6800pp (paragon points). The Global Training Room has 0pp, and the live has 1540pp. Also I noticed that on the Global Training Room and the VIP beta does not have the beast master set unlocked like the live does.
1. Does this mean that I need to unlock the beast master set on each server (VIP Beta, and Global Training Room)? 2. Does this mean that since the point total is different that the Paragon Markets for each set of servers is separate and different? Meaning that what I purchase on either the Global Training Room or the VIP Beta will not effect the Paragon Points on the live servers. I can guess or assume the answers. But I would rather get answers instead of doing that. Incarnate: My main is a level 50 dark melee/regen scrapper has all of available incarnate slots unlocked and filled with a power of my choice. I do not have any level shifts. The closest to getting a level shift is the Alpha slot. But I need a notice of the well in order to do that. So here are my questions. I am on the Protector server. If I had to I could change servers, because the SG that I am in is basically dead. Most of the players have moved on and quit playing, from what I am told. 1. When is the best time to do the weekly strike target? I ask this because as far as I know this is the fastest way of getting a notice of the well. I have tried queuing up using the LFG system but was not able to get into the weekly strike target. 2. Does anyone these days do the weakly strike target? I ask because I think that many already have all alpha slots maxed. So they do not need anything from the weekly strike target. 3. Do I have to change servers in order to get the job done? 4. What trials outside of the first two (have done them already) can I take part in. Where I actually would be able to contribute to the league? I do not want to be a dead weight that cannot do a single thing. I like earning what I get in a game. I am willing to fight for it. |
So basically you have access to unlimited points on the Beta and Test environment to make sure that a) people have access to the things the devs want us to test and b) make sure that they are actually purchasable from the market. The devs would never charge players (by making them buy points on Beta/Test) to test things for them.
As far as level shifts going, your Rare and Very Alphas will give you a +1 level shift in all content (assuming you're not exemp below level 45).
For the remaining two level shifts, they only apply when you're in an Incarnate Trials or present in the new Dark Astoria (and its missions)
In regard to which trials to do and when, you will get varying answers to that question.
My opinion is this:
(Minimum Shifts)
+0/+1 = Lam, BAF and Keyes
+1/+2 = Underground
+2/+3 = TPN, MoM, DD
As always, your mileage may vary.
Happy hunting!

everything in the paragon market on beta costs 0 paragon points anyway because its beta, i havent been on test in quite some time though

The LFG system only recently became usable for regular task forces. I don't know anyone who uses it, though. I would suggest going to the forum section for your server and seeing what the active global channels are. There are probably several specifically related to task forces and incarnate content (which the WST is). On Infinity, we have "Infinity Incarnates", "Infinity TFs", etc.
2. Does anyone these days do the weakly strike target? I ask because I think that many already have all alpha slots maxed. So they do not need anything from the weekly strike target.
Oh, sure we do. This week is the 1st respec trial - I ran the villain one 5 times this week and the hero one once. I normally play heroes more, but the red respec is so much less tedious.
Don't forget that the weekly strike target is also great for NON-50s. If you're not 50, you get a massive XP bonus at the end (3-5 bars, depending on TF length), as well as double reward merits. If you're 50, you get the Notice and the double reward merits. I run the WST several times every week (on different characters) since the bonus is so good.
3. Do I have to change servers in order to get the job done?
I doubt it. Ask in your server section what channels you need to be on.
4. What trials outside of the first two (have done them already) can I take part in. Where I actually would be able to contribute to the league? I do not want to be a dead weight that cannot do a single thing. I like earning what I get in a game. I am willing to fight for it.
Personally, I don't like to run any except the first two until I have at least one level shift. I would not want to run Minds of Mayhem or Dilemma Diabolique unless I had 2 or 3 shifts. This varies by AT and powers. A force field defender gets the same effect from his bubbles whether he is 50 or 50+3. A scrapper (like your character) will be doing less damage and taking more damage if he is a lot lower than the enemy.

Thanks for the answers all. I had assumed the answers to the questions on the market would be what I got. But since my dad hated to guess and assume things, I am the same way. That is why I needed to ask to be certain. I would be the same if I were working at the same job as some of you. Those first few weeks I would be a ton of questions.
So again thank you for you help in both areas. Have fun all.

The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.
Another thing that I've not seen mentioned is that you don't have to have a Notice of the Well for slotting your Incarnate Powers. If you select what power you want and scroll down on the right, you will see an alternate set of components that will allow you to Create the power you want without a Notice of the Well.
I've yet to receive a Notice of the Well and I have a T2 Cardiac in my Alpha (also have a T2 Spiritual created but not slotted), a T2 Pyronic Judgement and a T2 Degenerative Interface.
I've also created (but not slotted) a T2 Nemesis Lore, but haven't gotten enough iXP to finish unlocking the slot yet. As soon as the slot unlocks, I'll have the power ready to slot.
Basically all I'm needing is the Rare components to be able to start getting my T3's in my first three slots, and finish opening the Destiny and Lore slots.
All without a single Notice of the Well.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.
Another good way to grind threads and components for Incarnate is to run Heather's arc from DA in flashback mode from Ouroboros. You can basically fly through the 1st and final mission in the arc, with only the 2 in the middle requiring defeats that you need to work for. I've got it down to 21 minutes for the entire arc. You can run it 3 times choosing a different reward each time so in one hour you can earn 10 threads, a random component, and either 2 Astral or 1 Empyrean merit. Then you can run 1 mission from Epharm Shaw(repeatable contact in DA) for 10 more threads and that might take 5-10 minutes, so in about an hour you can get 20 threads, a component, and the mentioned merit(s) which you can trade in for shards or threads. If you have Windfalls, save them for DA(threads) and Task Forces(for shard drops).
Also found that BAF and Lambda yield a ton of Incarnate drops if you are using Windfall and they are both relatively short if you have a good league, around 30 minutes each. You also get the selectable reward table at the end and I believe there is no cooldown timer on this as I have chosen a component almost every time.
I've got all my slots unlocked, T2 in everything but Alpha, which I have T3 in already, and it only took me about 2 weeks of playing 1-2 hours 3-4 nights a week plus one task force/strike target to get my notice for my T3 Alpha, and all that from running through the entire DA story once and then just speed running Heather's flashback arc.
Also if you can run enough trials or get a bunch of threads it's almost easier IMO to just buy your slots open with the Incarnate XP under threads.
Coming back out of the woodwork after a couple years away from the game...
