  1. I'm not a big fan of blasters in general, having only one at level 50. However that one is elec/elec and it seems fine to me. I think damage output *in a crowd* is lower, since there's less AoE than some other sets.
  2. From what I've heard, it just sounds tedious. I've never attended the new raid format but I did the old one quite a bit. If it's at a time I can show up, I'd certainly like to see what the new raid is like, just out of curiosity. Then I can decide for myself if it's tedious or not.

Awfully large projectiles, though. I think something a bit smaller would be good, like sporks, for example.

Well, ouch. And his name would be Tauntmaster?
  5. Not worth it.
In my opinion, most damage or status procs are only worth it in an AoE where you have a few chances for it to trigger. My dark/dark tank had a few slots available, so he has 4 different procs in his PBAoE toggles.

The exception would be purples, since they have much higher odds to trigger and much greater effect.

    SG base

One reason it would not list the Supercomputer is if your SG does not have the Supercomputer Badge. This is earned by 5 hours of sidekicking someone.

    SHHHHH!!!!!!!
    There is no Forum Cartel!
  8. Actually, he said in another thread that his time runs out in March.
  9. Yes. Unfortunately, it's not hard to accidentally delete a chat tab or have other unintended things happen. The game seems to have trouble deciding which window you want to click in when multiple windows overlap. Also, if you accidentally hit a 'hotkey', you can bring up a menu and trigger some action without even realizing it.

Unless it has been changed (I have not had this issue in a long time, and I'll explain why), when you delete the ONLY TAB that a global channel appears on, it also removes you from the global channel.

My solution: I have my globals on various tabs and then have an extra tab that only serves one purpose - to 'store' global channels in case I delete the main tab that displays it. This way, deleting one tab can not remove me from any channels.
  10. Yeah, they'll make sure he's not in some weird state and just dump him in Mercy, by Kalinda. I've had this happen blue side (although not in over a year) and they moved my guy to Ms. Liberty.

Tough. When I watch television, I have the option to change channels during the commercials. I am under no obligation to pay attention to, or even SEE, advertising.

However, I would think the percentage of web surfers who know how to block ads is relatively low. I mean, think about it, scammers are still sending 'Nigerian letters' because they WORK. Some people are really that stupid.

Given just a bit of information, you can find anything on the net.
If you go to Google and put in the phrase TonyV used, "Awesomely deep character skills" - in quotes, so that Google searches for the EXACT phrase, you'll get a number of hits. Click over to image search, and you'll see the ad in question as it appears on two different discussion forums. (Oh, and be warned that if you leave off the quotes, you'll be inundated with sexually explicit images so type carefully.)

As you might guess, the forum posters were expressing their low opinion of the ad and the game.
  13. Sign me up for team one.
I'll bring Agent Pitchblende again (earth/rad).
  14. It was Hess. Next week is Citadel.

It seems to me that you answered your own question.
I have an ice/SS tank without Taunt and he does fine. All my other tanks have Taunt, though. Since I have a few to choose from, I just don't use the ice tank if I specifically expect to be facing a lot of AV's or GM's.

hmm..... The problem is that defense is subject to randomness and cascade failure. You can be cruising along, hardly getting hit at all, then be dead faster than you can react. Resistance sets give you the 'slow motion death' you're talking about.

Have you used Burn for AV-melting? It should still be handy for that, right?

Which way would you be inclined to lean?
    umm..... err..... uh.....
Can I say "both"? I actually do have both on my fire/fire. I had to shortchange Burn (only 3 slots) but it's still pretty damn ugly. If I had to pick one.... If it's mainly about the immob protection, I'd take CJ. However, part of my preference is due to really enjoying the mobility in combat - being able to leap up to balconies and such.

If you frequently team with someone with an immob, you really want Burn.

Oh and you also need to 6 slot the rez power with recharge IOs. This should let the rez power recharge within two minutes of it being used.
You're counting from from the wrong point in time. The recharge does not start when you DIE - it starts when you rez from the previous kill.

Base recharge is 300 seconds. That's five minutes. What if you had an attacker who took 4-1/2 minutes to defeat you? What if he took 3:05? What if your recharge was 150 seconds and he took 40 to defeat you?

Apparently not, because there is no simple answer like "slot 3 SO's". In order to achieve the EFFICIENCY you are so concerned about, you need to take into account the rate of incoming damage.

The recharge duration that needs to be considered is not measured from the time of being defeated. It's measured from when when you rez from the previous defeat - that's when the power starts recharging.

You've seen the prices drop due to AFK farming and you can verify that correlation? Great. Provide us the proof then.
No, I wasn't replying to the OP. I was replying to you.

It therefore also cannot be fast because there is a very fixed limit on the maximum number per hour the process could generate.

It is effortless, but that does not necessarily make it efficient in regards to other procurement methods.
The term "fast" is basically meaningless in this discussion. As you point out, there is an externally imposed 'speed limit'. However, it can be fastER than PvP.

As for efficiency, it seems extremely efficient to me. How are you defining 'efficient'. If it takes average of 3 hours of actual PvP (made-up number) to earn a recipe or 3 minutes setting up an AFK farm and letting it run - the AFK method seems EXTREMELY efficient. You can't say that it's not getting drops any faster than real PvP and simply ignore the fact that the investment of the PLAYER'S TIME is dramatically less.

I am not really sure when the actual forums started if it was from the inception of CoH 2004'ish or later? If it was later then that's "really" amazing.

I know that if someone really gets involved in a post by commenting back and forth, that the total number of that persons posts will grow exponentially. So, unless someone doesn't do this for a living or just sits in front of their computer all day, how is it possible? Look at it like this: Lets say the forums did start-up in 2004. We'll say five years or 365 days x 5yrs. = 1825 days. If someone has over 20,000 posts, that's roughly an average of 11 posts per day! 11 x 365 = 4015 per yr. 4015 x 5 yrs. = 20,075 posts!
This makes me go "Hmmmmm". Obviously someone was really bored to do these calculations.

I have had characters logged in for days before.
According to hearsay, you stop getting progress on the mentoring badges if you are inactive for a certain period of time so AFK'ing won't work. I can't attest to this personally, but I have heard it from multiple people. Can't hurt to try, and find out for sure.
