Quote:FALSE.It's not that. It's that every other thing available has been made available to existing players through an item pack. The only exception I know of is the Collectors Edition Power Slide and Cape for City of Heroes; even the City of Villains pre-order helmets are available to veterans.
So, this is a break with what has happened in the past.
Can we move on to the next rant now?
You make your silly rant and specifically mention the items that make you wrong - the pre-order helmets. Oh wait, I forgot, you can see the future and you already know that this stuff will never be available by other means in the future.
Right, because they told everyone that the pre-order helmets would be vet rewards. Oh, wait, there were no vet rewards back then.Quote:Something only available to preorders from a specific company, and no apparent plans to make them available to existing players.
The only disturbing thing is all the entitlement and 'not fair' whining.Quote:That's disturbing. Even as other MMORPGs are moving towards the "make everything available to existing players" model that City of Heroes has, City itself is hinting that they're moving away from it. -
Quote:Please take your own advice and "get over it". There was nothing unethical or immoral about this move on NCSoft's part and certainly nothing to justify all the whining like they have been kicking puppies.I am shocked people are actually surprised and disappointed by this move. NC Soft is here to make a buck...bottom line. It seems many MMOs have used this same type of business model to soak as much cash as they can from you. What shocks me even more is that some people think NC Soft views them as more important than the buck in their pocket. Nope. They don't. They're a business and, sadly, that's how business tends to work. Ethics, morals, scruples and their fellow man mean about as much to them as the gum stuck to the bottom of your shoe. Get it over it, people. If you're really ticked over this then stop giving them money...it's the only way they will hear your voice

I like the waterfall area in Eden. Conveniently, a lot of people get to see it because the Unspoiled exploration badge is there.

Are they really? I'm not sure about this. Just slapping your flag down in some unclaimed land doesn't make it an independent nation. It has to be recognized by other nations. Are the Rogue Isles officially recognized?

Quote:It's also worth noting that you should not quit any arc or TF until you are certain the last task is completed and the leader has called the contact - *IF* you care about getting the souvenir (these show up on your CLUE tab).On a side note, the most common reason for not getting the badge at the end is quitting before the end of the SF. Beating Reichsman is NOT the last mission. The SF is not complete until somebody visits Lord Recluse in the tower. We usually remind the team not to leave so everybody gets the badges correctly.

Quote:It is recommended to *NOT* use the wikia site. It accepts ads from gold farmers and has been known (at least once) to be infected with malware. These badges were a lot harder to get because the requirements were much higher. http://cityofheroes.wikia.com/wiki/Immortal_Badge.
Instead, use ParagonWiki at http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Immortal_Badge -

Quote:Bingo! You can also drag them in from other areas... as long as the kill occurs in the Misty Woods they count.
This technique is incredibly useful to grab lower level trolls for the "kill 10 under the Red River Bridge" mission in the Hollows...
Remember this tactic whenever you need to kill stuff in a specific area. -
Quote:I would disagree. Some of the badge missions are extremely short and easy and should NOT award the challenge badges since it's not really a challenge.Rather than spend a lot of time and effort on micro-managing this, I'd suggest the simplest solution be that, irrespective of a mission's "story arc" status, any time players successfully complete any Flashback mission while accepting voluntary disabilites, they should get the badges for successful completion operating under those disabilities.

Quote:And here we see that NCSoft can never win. People have been screaming bloody murder for marketing to do something to promote the game. Now we get that wish, with a major retailer and a peripheral seller getting involved, and all people can do so far is carp and whine. It's not often that I'm negative on these forums, but considering that a signifigant percentage of the playerbase prepurchased Going Rogue, I think this is a terrible idea. It wouldn't be as bad an idea if it was advertised as one of the purchasing methods way back when, but letting us know at this point leaves me with a bitter taste in my mouth.
Edit: To be fair, after reading more of the thread, not everyone is whining and some have actually acknowledged that Paragon Studios is taking steps to promote GR. -
Quote:sheesh. Whine whine whine.Good going as usual devs, way to screw over your loyal fan base who pre-ordered back when dual pistols first came out.
By pre-ordering, you got to play with the sets early. That was YOUR CHOICE. FYI, I did not pre-order because I wasn't willing to spend extra. I'm patient. The free month of game time was more important to me than getting to use the sets early. And that was my choice. -
Quote:Bloody hell. Does that mean we're getting the stupid pop-up prompt back? From the Patch Notes for the latest patch on Test:

Oh, well, some of us still do things for the content or the teaming. It's not all about the rewards. You know, like doing arcs with someone even though it means only the arc 'owner' will get any merits.

Quote:Okay, not sure what you mean there. Are you asking:Thxs Ironblade very helpful. Just 1 more question, what in your expereince in the primetime for this server?
1) What, in your experience, is the primetime for this server?
2) What is your experience in the primetime for this server?
1) Primetime seems to start some time after 7PM EST and extend past midnight. I'm not sure how late it extends because I'm not on that late on weeknights.
2) My experience is that I never have trouble finding a team, but my situation is not typical.
- I run a top 40 SG (and associated alt SGs).
- We're in coalition with (and I have toons in) an SG that has scheduled events 4 nights per week.
- I'm on 3 of the biggest global channels and am an operator on one of them. -

Quote:I lost all by Good Rep, now kind of feeling like no one want me around these day on the Forums.Quote:
Why do i want good Rep, well i wanted to be like and trying hard to get Some freaking good rep, If you're this worried about what random strangers on the internet think about you, you really need to work on your self-esteem.Quote:Well these Days i am getting kind of Scared to even post anything on forums or write on it.
To rip off and paraphrase George Carlin: The average person is often kind of a jerk. So half the population is even jerkier than that. -
Quote:NEVER!I would like to see the Sewer and Eden redone so they have value.
The Eden trial is one of the best trial/TF's in the game!
The Sewer trial is pretty damn good, too. And it's one of the few situations where you might actually run out of time (if we exclude that mission with the 10 minute timer that you're supposed to fail). -
And so a new player is potentially misinformed.
Sounds like a big whoop to me.
Particularly in a section dedicated to providing useful (and accurate) information to players with questions.
Face it, you screwed up. The snark doesn't make you seem cool. -

Quote:Do people not bother reading before complaining?I don't know what the hold protection on the greens is in the zone raids, but in a mission where you are limited to 8 players, mag 50 is just too much.
We know it's too high. The devs know it's too high. Castle has already fixed it. It just hasn't gotten to the live servers yet. -
Quote:I guess that's because you're looking for a conspiracy.NC used to be a bit more forthcoming with sub numbers but not lately. That smells a little fishy to me...
NCSoft used to reveal more detailed information than their competition and eventually decided it wasn't a good idea. Rather than smelling anything fishy, I found that decision totally unsurprising. -
<ahem> The patch notes say:
"The original Positron's Task Force is available in "The New Recruits" flashback arc. Completing either the new Task Force or the original will grant the Positron's Ally badge."
