Scenic Places

There are places and views in City of Heroes and even Villains where the zone's been set up beautifully. Spots where it's hard not to stop and pan the camera around to grab screenshots; or stop and pause and think to one's self ... I'm so glad I found this spot, or how did I ever miss this? Places you can't wait to bring a friend or two to see and share with.

For me, the first time I found the amphitheater in Perez was on of those moments.

Which zones and spots do this for you, if any?

What're the most picturesque locations you've ever found? Which are the most bucolic? The most peaceful? The most romantic? The most urbane?

Out in the middle of nowhere in the Shard Shard. Back in the day, I spent a lot of time trying to clear the fog of war on several characters. The flowing orange, yellow, and reds push my buttons. It took a conscious force of will to stop myself from taking so many screenshots to try capture every color pattern.

I also find the Shadow Shard wormhole interiors one of the prettiest things this game. I'm sure it's a fairly simple construct to set up being that it's only a spiral, but I like staring at it.

Something about the 'farm' areas in Croatoa is very appealing to me.

Still love the Ski Chalet.

Oh I love all three of those spots. I also like the tiny little floating "Islands" that surround Ouroboros. They are a lot like what you see in the Shard but with waterfalls and tiny pools. Very pretty and a cool place to just sit and relax after a busy day battling evil.. or doing it. :-D

The entire Shadow Shard looks awesome, but I particularly like the Storm Palace. All those twisted trees, the purple sky, the Lanaruu floating off in the distance, the little explodey things hitting the Death Star...it's my favorite screenshot place.

I also love the Crey Area 51 and the Longbow holding pens in Nerva. A friend told me about the Crey area, and I immediately had to go tell all my other friends. I discovered the Longbow area completely by accident, on a hunt mission. I'm glad they have exploration badges now, so everybody can go see them.

I like the waterfall area in Eden. Conveniently, a lot of people get to see it because the Unspoiled exploration badge is there.

I think anything with water is restful, and anywhere where you can see the sun setting into the sea is beautiful.

Long ago I claimed a small island off the coast of Talos as my own secluded hideaway. Has a nice little lagoon and interesting rock outcroppings.
I can sit on the beach and look out over the sunset, with the city far in the distance. Very peaceful!

Also the lakehouse in Perez has been the spot of a few pool parties in the past.

I particularly enjoy standing on the hill overlooking the epic fight between Eochai and Jack in Croatoa.

I wish I could do more TFs but my work and RL schedule often preclude such pursuits.

I'll go wiki Faathim's and try to find a way to wriggle my way onto one.

O and to contribute - I'm weird in that I just like being up high, perched on a smokestack or building-ledge - so the more "built-up" zones are the places for me, though I do enjoy the tranquility of PPark and the outlying islands of Talos, in small doses.

I'd created a similar thread a while back... there are some seriously spiffy places in the game. I can't wait for GR, with all new locations to discover!
