Quote:umm.... when does it do that? My broadsword scrapper punches with his free hand for Brawl. My katana scrapper and stalker strike the enemy in the face with the sword pommel for Brawl. The only use I have for brawl is with my sword/katana characters..it produces the 'kick' like the mooks in the Family do, and I love that.LOL
Now, my dark/archery defender DOES kick for Brawl. -
Quote:You were. The Cimerorans have a significant defense debuff with their sword attacks. Assuming you have 45% defense, you start out with their odds to hit floored at 5%. As soon as you get hit once, their odds of hitting you get better. This leads to you getting hit more and having your defense further reduced before the earlier debuffs wear off. We call this a cascade failure, although I'm not sure the definition really fits.Kind of sounds like when I took my DM/SR scrapper on the ITF. I could not stay alive at all. It was like I was totally defenseless.
Anyway, you'd be absolutely appalled if you were monitoring your defense numbers. When I did this on my invuln, in a 'mob scene' fight, they could get my base defense to -100% in 20-30 seconds. -
Quote:HAHAHAHAHA Priceless!I don't use any more gas now than i ever did so i don't see teh demand for it to increase every year to the point that working people can't even go shopping once and a while due to gas having to be treated like a regular househould bill now.
*YOU* don't use any more gas than you used to, therefore there has obviously been no increase in worldwide demand. Is your understanding of the CoH market this keen also? -
I don't think so. That's why I plan to put Moonfire and Hess in there also.
-
Two task forces? This is madness!
Anyway, I'll be there. I'm not sure with whom. I'm planning to run my new PB through the six signature TF's, plus Moonfire and Hess, during double XP. By Saturday afternoon, she'll probably be level 30 or so. Maybe I'll bring Ironblade. He's closing in on 3 million prestige. -
Yeah, a few problems.
1) Mission was bugged and the teams ended up in different instances.
2) We got the AV with storm powers.
3) We sucked like a tornado. (Did you catch that segue? storm - tornado, eh?)
Quote:Oops. I don't think I had my Tactics running. My stone tank has Tactics and I often forget to turn it on.I noticed that my base ToHit Bonus was often down at 28% in the red, so I am not sure how often we all were even hitting him. I should be respecced to bring Assault and Tactics next time.

Quote:Not yet.Has anyone found a situation where Shadowy Presence is useful yet?
Bingo! As far as I'm concerned, it's one more emote to use while standing around at a TF contact or waiting for everyone to get inside the mission.Quote:i still give it some thought every now and again, but so far haven't found a use aside from doing emotes -
I asked the exact same question last year. As I recall, the consensus was that Mace was a teensy bit better. (i.e. Close enough you won't notice the difference.)
I ended up going with Axe for thematic reasons. Ironblade is broadsword/regen so Ironshield had to be shield/some melee weapon. I was leaning toward Axe since Ironblade has one also (Ghost-Slaying Axe). -
Having too much defense is like being too rich. My SD tank has Weave. I needed it to get him above 50%. Too much? Sure, until you go up against Cimerorans.

Quote:XP normally comes with influence. Do you think there will be a bunch of extra inf for running the right TF/SF? Especially for level 50's?Quote:It would be a bit strange for this to NOT grant a bonus INF award as well, but I guess anything's possible.um... what? I recall his announcement as going something like this:Quote:The way I interpret it, is that you'll just get a bunch of XP awarded upon the completion of the TF. I guess it'll be like arc bonuses.

Quote:I think you need to turn it up to 11.We need to step up our game. Possibly also take it to the next level, give 110%, and/or think out of the box.
Nothing. He's on a crusade. -
Quote:I take exception to this. I was special and elite before I started playing this game.Even though I don't have the badge, I fully understand why it would really reek if I was able to get it. The players that do have those are special. They chose to sign up for an unknown game. It could have been a gift, or it could have been something they chose to do, but that doesn't matter. They contributed some money in the early goings, and they are now an elite class.

I'm on that one. Please note, the channel name is N P C with a space between each letter. If you joined an NPC channel, you may be the only person on it. To join the N P C (Mentor Project) channel, you would type /chanjoin "N P C"
You need the quotes since the name has spaces. -
Quote:I doubt it. Most internet %%%hats don't have that degree of self-awareness.Seriously, though, I think Night-Hawk07 summed it up. Especially that last line. I LOVE that WoW and CO and whatnot exist, because all the morons with an IQ smaller than their shoe size flock there, and leave us alone. Eventually, they'll get tired of it, and find CoH. They'll see what a Community really is. And they'll look at the things they did in the past, and go, "Wow... was I really like that?".

Quote:muahahahahaaha I got a reply to this post. Now we can wonder (and speculate) as to WHY he deleted those posts. We can only hope it was due to developing a sense of shame as some of them were pretty reprehensible.
(Actually, maybe the worst ones got modsmacked. I never checked.)
"Actually, it's because, after my experience here, I have zero interest in socializing with butthurt *&*&*&. I've deleted all my messages and I'm moving on. You needn't bother replying. "
I censored the same derogatory term he used in this thread. I was going to tell him that I wasn't broken up over his departure after the attitude he demonstrated. But, since he said I needn't bother replying, I didn't.

Quote:Shield is fine at high level. My shield tank tanked an ITF for the Master badge. My ice tank was also great (haven't played him lately - he was my 2nd tank).I'm thinking I gotta re-assess. I've been on good teams with my Shield tank but I think he's going to have late game issues that other (non-defense) tanks won't have. Am I wrong?
I'm wondering if you need to assess playing a tank at all. You've played a few but never taken them past the 30's. If you're really not enjoying them, then maybe tanks aren't your cup of tea.
As for me, I love tanks. I've taken every armor set to level 50 and just started a PB who will be human/lobster and will be my next 'tank'. -
Quote:Interestingly, those powersets are where I don't even bother with regen bonuses. If I already have 600%, another 10 won't be noticeable.I wouldn't focus on the regen rate unless you were a regen associated toon like Regeneration or Willpower.
I only build for regen on a tank (to capitalize on the high hit points) who's already pretty tough due to other reasons (resistance or defense).
Seriously. A difference of 10 or 15% recovery can make or break a build.Quote:The +recovery is where the money's at. Much when it's stacked with other IO bonused percentages to recov, and with a miracle combination. -
I had one just recently that was pretty good.
LotG +7.5% recharge
Blessing of the Zephyr -knockback
Obliteration quad
Numina unique

Quote:No. That has no effect at all on the difficulty.I had set a time limit on the TF for 2 hours, did that make the TF harder?
Mandatory? No. Do they make just about everything in the game easier? Yes.Quote:any ideas why there is such a difference? I have a feeling we didn't have any debuffs on this team ... are they that mandatory? -
Quote:If you have enough def debuff, you could skip accuracy enhancements. You just better be sure that you'll have that debuff available every time you play that toon. Also, what if you have multiple enemies and some are OUTSIDE the debuff area?Reading some of the guides has me a little confused. Does debuffing def help at all if the target has no def to begin with? I'm not sure how debuff def can let you skip Acc/ToHit mods (or IO's). Fewer maybe, but not totally skip. Thanks.
BTW, resistance debuff works fine also on enemies with 0 resistance. It gives them NEGATIVE resistance which means they take extra damage. This is how you can effectively get more damage out of vet powers. You're not buffing your attack; you're debuffing enemy resistance. You can have your vet powers do double damage or more by debuffing the enemy resistance. -
Quote:The second part is good advice and the correct procedure. In the meantime, DO NOT USE IN-GAME E-MAIL TO TRANSFER ITEMS, and if you have any difficulties report them to in-game GMS IMMEDIATELY.
As for using email with attachments, I'll keep doing that like I have been doing. -
Quote:My guess is that it will be permanent, since he specifically mentioned that there will be badges related to them. Will the Target TFs be continuing into the foreseeable future, or will they be shut down when I20 lands and the Incarnate Trials come along?
Yeah, we don't know. I seem to recall a rumor that, not only would some of it be a team activity, some would be a multi-team activity like the Cathedral of Pain.Quote:Also, do we know for sure that Incarnate Trials are team activities? I realize that Trials thus far are, but I can also envision solo Incarnate activities that are called Trials. -
Well, the original post made the side clear when it was listed to start in Talos. The side has not been changed. It's a blue-side raid.
-
Aside from not really understanding what your post has to do with the topic, it is flat-out WRONG. The CoP Trial most certainly DOES have rewards. While there are no rewards from the critters, it gives a huge end of mission bonus to compensate. Additionally, it now also gives an Incarnate Component.
