Some sets definitely aim towards the detoggling. Whereas my 50 is a put put upon kat/regen with brawl as his only detoggling power. Not fair *sniff* I have to batter them to death through their shields/defences the whole time
-
Can't you just bind key "powexec_name dwarf step$$powexec_name teleport self" (or whatever the powers are called specifically) and that way it'll activate whichever is available in eithr form. I have a PB so can't test this exactly but it works with energy flight in human form and flare in dwarf form.

Everyone makes a hash of things once in a while but I see SO many tankers UTTERLY failing, obviously graduates of the Statesman school of tanking that I'm at the point where I don't trust a tanker to hold agro let alone pull.
I should point out I play on a lot of PuGs. -

I really dont see why people have such problems with them, as long as you are moving about they cant AS you and when the 50 zone comes it wont be an issue cause they will be seen by almost everyone.
[/ QUOTE ]
The problem is most people HAVE to stop moving. My scrapper stops moving everytime he attacks, as does my blaster and PB. The latter two are fliers which offers SOME immunity (not many stalkers with fly - too easy to bring down and a stalker needs a good getaway) but the scrapper is a jumper and when involved in a fight with someone else is prime stalker target and that's wny I hate them. I'm in a good fight with someone else, along comes the stalker, knocks off over 75% of my health and I faceplant. Fight and fun over, back to hospital. -
Depends on the tanker and depends on the blaster. Although I have never seen a tanker do a decent pull, not since I6 anyway.
If you're pulling around a corner, a fire tanker with blazing aura or stone tanker with mudpots who knows where to stand (i.e. right at the corner) will do the job.
But in retrospect I'll say that for pulling a spawn a tri-form PB or WS is king of the hill. -
It must be said I do wish more tankers would learn how to herd, at least gather of the spawn and ready for nuking.
Or when the blaster is pulling (which make more sense btw) where the tanker should be to intercept the mobs chasing and once again gather them into a nice dense group and ready for nuking.
I have seen some truly awful tanking and maybe, just maybe, if someone shouts "tank" at you, then maybe it's because you're not doing your job very well. It's just an idea and I'm just throwing it out there, largely to see what happens. -
I'd ruled out solar flare because it's not ranged and I like to keep as much distance between me and the mobs as possible. In situations where I can move into position directly above the spawn I had eventually intended to, hit build up, switch to to nova form, launch the cone, the AoE, switch to human, cone, AoE again and then drop down and Nova them. That should be enough firepower to nuke even a large +3 spawn - in theory.
However, loading the cone and AoE attaks in nova with recharge reduxes (I habitually run hasten) is an interesting idea IF there's enough time left in build-up to get a third attack (probably the cone again) off.
If not, then it'll be down to squeezing every last point of damage out the human cone and AoE attack. -

I've got a level 6 BS/SR scrapper on defiant, the accuracy is cripe, but the damage is the same as a blaster accept you have to get up close and personal to deal it. I am still not sure.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, it will be "cripe"you'll be running, at best a couple of TO accs enhan. In fact at the early lvls I ONLY run acc enhancements. Even at the later lvls I run 2 and 3 acc SOs since my regen scrapper tended to find himself facing +4/+5 mobs on a regular basis.
-
Personal taste is of course a factor, as is playstyle. After 50 lvls of building an 1 on 1 specialist I'm now building an AoE specialist and a key indregient to that is Nova form. With build up the AoE and cone attacks are devastating. I intend during the 30s (I'm 32 atm) to slot up the two similar attacks in human form. Since going from nova to human is virtually instantaneous I'm hoping either the AoE or cone attack in human form will catch the tail end of build-up and should allow me to nuke, certainly +1 spawns and come close to doing the same to +2 spawns.
After which, depending on the health of the survivors and how agroed they are at me specifically I can switch to dwarf and ride out the storm having done most of the work in the space of 4 attacks.
All I need is a good tank who knows how to gather the bad guys into a nice tight group and no blasters to open with rain of fire/ice. -
I can only speak from a kat/regen point of view, since it's the only scrapper I've had - although I did get him to 50
But imho, survivability is off the chart. A tank may be tougher but he'll be pulling a lot more agro than the scrapper and not dishing out even half the damage.
I must admit, I'm a bit jaded of him now, since I got my PB - nuke half the room and switch to dwarf form to ride out the agro from the other half whilst the rest of the team mop up.
/em pauses to watch fire blasters turn green with envy
But if you want the job of taking out the most dangerous mob in the room and getting up close and personal to do it then a scapper is the AT for you.
BTW, watching a spines/SR scrapper herd whilst running elude is truly one of the marvels of the game. -

Well stamina is a must so unless theres something else i can get rid of well 3 things i can get rid of im buggerd apart from spending all day in Dwarf... You'd think they'd have made a shield for this sort of thing.
[/ QUOTE ]
Why? Not all ATs come with mez protection, in fact most don't. Both Kheldian ATs have very good protection in dwarf form, which is a lot better than most other toons running about have got. -
[ QUOTE ]
i'll fight the energy/energy blaster with my fire/energy tank on test server and we'll see how low my dmg output isi've beaten many of the best blasters 1v1 on union
[/ QUOTE ]
I think I specifically mentioned "defensive" tanks. -
[ QUOTE ]
20% with lvl 32 power
So that's a one in five chance I have of one shotting a squishie.
[/ QUOTE ]
Fair enough, although I've never managed it. Haven't even seen my big katana attack even do close to 1/2 damage on a blaster. -
[ QUOTE ]
But that Tank or Scrap is pretty much impossible to kill for a solo blaster in the 32+ game. See how it all balances out there?
[/ QUOTE ]
No, because the solo tank is unlikely to kill the solo blaster given his low damage output. I can confirm that with an nrg/nrg blaster my regen scrapper will only win if he has IH available. If he doesn't then he loses. I had the opportunity to run some tests with a tame blaster in Warburg.
Personally speaking, I don't think a solo ANYTHING should be able to beat a tank that's got all its shields at max as in my experiece a defensive tank can't kill anything on its own. It should imho take a couple of blasters minimum.
Consider that 3 scrappers can't take down a granite tanker unless they've got a spare half hour why should a solo blaster be able to manage it? -
[ QUOTE ]
Try going up against a good scrapper in Warburg, and pray he doesn't one shot you with a crit Eagle's Claw, Head splitter etc...
[/ QUOTE ]
It's OK, given there's only a 10% chance of getting a critical you won't have to pray very hard. -
I'm curious. You said you wanted to add stamina to get a lot more out of your human form, but it appears you're not planning on slotting it.
And I would consider adding some accs to your dwarf attacks. -
I think you've highlighted the key difference between PBs and WSs. The former are self relient whilst the latter are mob dependent, and therfore you have your decision. How does either suit your playstyle - I prefer PBs because I like to reach my full potential regardless of the environment. If you don't mind being dependent on mobs then the WS is the only to go for as given the right conditions it will outperform the PB in terms of damage and healing - but *only* (afaik) if the conditions are right. How does, for example mire work versus a single AV compared to a PBs build up?
-
[ QUOTE ]
Only other thing that can withstand a dedicated blaster is someone running unstoppable.
[/ QUOTE ]
Or a regen blaster running IH, or a PB running lightform or... and the list probably goes on. -
Asking for this in a PvP zone is really asking too much, but asking for the option in the arena is conceivable. I could imagine options for physics being available in a destructable environment. options for enhanced or reduced damage, for the mass of a toon being a factor (i.e. enhanced knockback distance for small toons, reduced for huge ones) and then you could carefully sculpt the epic battle you're after.
If this was available what would be REALLY nice is if it came with a recorder so all the action is stored and you could go back through it frame by frame to adjust your camera angle to allow you to create short films that fully captured the action.
Not likely to ever happen but it'd be nice. -
Theres nothing dubious about this power. It's perhaps the best phase shifting power left in the game. That it also comes with the fastest fly in the game built in is just as added bonus.
To answer your question; it'll only really work in the scenario you describe if you know the stalker is about to AS you as you can only run it for, at most, about 90 seconds at a time before you run out of end. -

PB 1 hold - WS 1 hold
PB 1 PBAoE Stun - WS 1 Cone Stun
[/ QUOTE ]
Doesn't the WS alos have an AoE stun? Unchain Essence? -
[ QUOTE ]
WS = damage dealer
PB = (friendly) healer
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry, what? A PB afaik has a single heal other power (which I won't be taking btw). It has the same powers in nova form and dwarf as a WS and whilst it doesn't have mire, which we hear so much about, it does have build up.
I can two-shot an equal lvl spawn with my 31 PB. I think that qualifies as a damage dealer.
