    My most recent (but still oldish) top end DPS comparisons in spreadsheets has Dark Melee/SR doing 5% better DPS than Katana/SR. That IS under fairly ideal circumstances (fully-saturated almost perma Soul Drain), but those are the circumstances we're setting up for Pylon soloing. I suppose the margin might be closer since you're going to have more of a Soul Drain gap with Shields. I'd also rather have the Katana/Shield for general play. It would do better DPS and better AoE in MOST circumstances. I just don't think it would be better than Dark/Shield in Pylon soloing contests. That's my useless (since we'll never see it) and not particularly well thought out prediction anyway.
    Curious what kind of build you have for that dm/sr and kat/sr.

    out of those 3... Katana paired with anything would give you some good survivavility. Inv, Regen and WP would probably be my top choices in that order regardless of what the below quote says

    Actually... took down the Pylon first then finished off the rest
    hmmmm.... might have to record that since I finally got wegame working again after wiping out my computer. no more pron sites i swear

    Keep the 10 enhancement slots, give players the option to turn the other enhancements back into recipes. Crafting cost and salvavge cost as punishment?

    Sure adjustments to builds need to be made so a lot of defensive builds may be sporting less recharge, less regen, less recovery, but it still leaves them plenty formidable. Just FYI, my fully IO'ed (purpled, PvP IO'ed) fire/shield will probably come out of this with about 5% less recharge, a little less regen, a little less hitpoints and a little less recovery. However she'll be gaining a bit more smash/lethal resistance to make up for it due to slotting of a couple of Aegis to make up lost AoE.

    BoTZ are OP with or without Shields...

    Tankers can do damage.Dont listen to players that dont know.Listen to those that do.

    Tankers can do damage... but so can an empathy defender

    Looks to me like...
    GC>GD>GC>SD>GC>FS with a slight gap at the end. Might be able to get around 170 dps out of that though you might not have enough endurance recovery to run that forever.

    1. PF you definetly want. It adds a flat 3.75 defense to you. GC could be skipped, however it adds a defense debuff resists that any defense sets need along with slow resists. 2. OwtS can be skipped, situational power that gives nice resists and hp bonus. If you find that you don't use it at all then skip it. 3. Travel power is over rated. Before Ninja Run all I had to travel with was hurdly+CJ. And to your build... 6 pieces Numina on SL is a no no, it is one of your priced attack with a heal, slot it up with combination of damage, heal, accuracy, endurance red and maybe some recharge. And get MIDS!!!

    This is probably as close if not the same build as it was before. Runs FU>Slash>Focus>Swipe, and putting out around 190 dps. If you go Strike over Swipe, the dps could go up and you could probably lower down the recharge bonusses. This is an old build and who ever says we're starving for slots....

    Don't really need hasten or FA for an AV build.
    With the kind of recharge you're packing, you should be able to run FU>Slash>Focus>Strike without hasten which would probably be 190+ dps.
