Since you have to take Scorch or Fire Sword anyway I'd suggest slotting up Fire Sword (better DPA than Scorch) so you can add that in while Hasten is recharging. Incinerate -> Cremate -> GFS is definitely the top chain but even with purples and LotGs it'll be tough to hit 140% global recharge and still softcap so I'm assuming Hasten and at least some downtime.
If I ever get around to leveling up my Fire/Shield I'll probably just stick to FS -> Incinerate -> Cremate -> GFS and skip Hasten... it frees up a pool and you only lose about 10 DPS fully enhanced with saturated AaO. You'll still be pushing near 220 max DPS without procs and that's darn good.
Granted, 230 DPS is better, but is it a billion inf better? You decide...
Cascade, level 50 Blaster (NRG/NRG since before it was cool)
Mechmeister, level 50 Bots / Traps MM
FAR too many non-50 alts to name

The Scavenger Hunt: 187076
The Instant Lair Delivery Service: 206636
I'm a fan of Incinerate -> Scorch -> Cremate -> Scorch myself. Even lower DPS, but better DPE, lowish recharge, and save an attack. Mind you, I don't have anything but an abandoned lowbie Fire toon, so I'm not speaking from experience.

I'd suggest Incinerate - Scorch - Cremate - Scorch. As Werner said, lowish recharge needed (dont need haste), good DPE and only 3 attacks needed, letting you take other goodies.
As for DPS, its all in the build. I solo'd a Pylon in 4:45 for 262 DPS. http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...=130754&page=9 (Post #168)
The only time I've seen that was faster was Iggy's 4:11 (Also Fire/SD)
Another advantage of the Sc - Inc - Sc - Cr chain is that you get to put a Hecatomb proc in Scorch, which has then a chance to go off every 3 seconds. On my spreadsheet, it pushes the chain above Fs - Cr - Inc - Gfs at low total damage (granted, not by much) and it's not very far behind at high total damage.
What's the recharge needed for Incinerate in the Incinerate-Scorch-Cremate-Scorch chain? (I've done my own calculations, but fear that they might be way off and too laughable to reveal.)
Incinerate: 4.09 sec, +145% rech
Cremate: 4.22 sec, +90% rech
Scorch: 1.71 sec, +75% rech

I currently run Inc-FS-GFS-FS on my fm/sd. Couldn't play him without GFS, and I don't like scorch.

I have FS, Cremate, Incinerate, and GFS on my Fire/SD and taking down AVs and such is boring it's taking so long.
The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.
My chain is Fire Sword-cremate-scorch-GFC repeat. Works well and I always have a attack ready to go. It's fun watching stuff burn and umm get arrested.
What's the recharge needed on that? I have FS, Cremate, Incinerate, and GFS on my Fire/SD and taking down AVs and such is boring it's taking so long. |
FS : +225%
GFS : +140%
Inc : +77%
Assuming a hecatomb proc in FS, it'd do about the same DPS as the other chains, but requires much more recharge.
So this is the build I've got planned out for the Incinerate > Scorch > Cremate > Scorch chain. I tried to keep the endurance cost as low as possible, because I had trouble reaching the softcap without Maneuvers, and don't want to drop enough influence to afford the PvP defense IO. Any critiques that would free up some slots or make it just a bit better are highly appreciated!

Ok, did some rework to your build, dunno if you like it or not, but... here it is...
Tough is now included, no need to take Maneuvers (took CJ instead) also no need to use Hover for Def.
Did have to drop 5% recharge thou... But, managed to get somewhat better regen and recovery. Also a bit more HP and lower end consumption (even with Tough on).
Take a look and tell me what do you think?

Sorry to bring up a dead thread but I didn't see this answer,
How much recharge needed for GFS-Cremate-Incinerate-Fire sword combo?
My fire/wp can't fit hasten, and getting incinerate down to 4.09 sec in the in-sc-cr-sc combo would require two hecas I don't wanna buy, with my 42.5% global. I can switch to fire sword and work in a six slotted GFS if that four power combo is easier to hit.
Greater Fire Sword (5.15 seconds, +134% recharge) -> Cremate (5.94, +35%) -> Incinerate (5.81, +73%) -> Fire Sword (6.07, +0%)

I was unable to fit in Cremate and Hasten in my FM/WP scrapper. Would working in Fire Blast from the Pyre Epic work for a good attack string? Not sure of the order or recharge needed, maybe FS -> Inc -> GFS -> FBl ?
So I'm planning on running a Fire/SD scrapper as my next project. Does anyone know offhand what the optimal FM chain is with the recharge numbers needed for it? I'm sure there's a thread out there with this info, but I'm tired and lazy, and not feeling like searching at the moment. Thanks in advance!
