  1. I know, caused me a bit of a pang when I read about it. I used to have ISC and it's one of the most graceful attacks in the game, and good damage for a dom AoE. I originally respecced it out because of the pause but to be honest I feel that the all single target attacks principle is working pretty well for me. Less aggro and more slots to spare too. And also because Ice doesn't have the same kind of 100% damage mitigation powers that some other sets do. Say, my Plant could throw Seeds and hold the few that it could have missed and then jump in and PbAoE at my leisure. When I had Ice Sword Circle I'd jump in the middle of my Ice Slick with Arctic Air on and there would all too often be someone getting up at the wrong moment and murdering me with their huge melee attack that stuns. Especially when fighting higher level mobs, when Ice Slick is less effective.
  2. You mean the pet window? You can enable or disable it in your options. Also you won't actually be able to control your Fly Trap like a MM pet.

As for any hints, get and 6-slot Strangler and Seeds of Confusion as soon as you can. Along with Carrion Creepers, they will be your most important control powers throughout the game. I also really recommend Skewer from the secondary, it's a quick melee attack that does good damage.

If its the same as Flash Arrow its supposedly around 8% unslotted (hence 15% slotted). Which means combined with some pool defense be up to about 25% damage mitigation. Not bad for the Aggro happy Domi.

Flash Arrow stacks with itself since Issue7, any update on Smoke?

If it's that good, I'm going to have to reconsider it. It would be pretty sweet combined with Combat Jumping and the DEF based Scorpion Shield from the Mace PPP. Seems very hard to find exact info.
  5. I think I will keep Stamina for my fire/kin even now that I have Transference. Before Transference I was constantly out of endurance, even with 3-slotted Stamina. It goes through endurance at an amazing rate. I'm also not sure I'd want to spam Transference every 15 seconds, the set is just too busy for that.
  6. I was having a horrible time leveling my ice/ice dominator from 40-41. Strange really because I felt quite strong all of the 30s. Most of it was laggy and spider-infested Grandville, with more outdoor deaths I've had quite possibly ever, even with my first ever character in Hollows. But I was also having a surprisingly bad time in PUGs. It got to the point where playing the character felt like a chore, so I sold out, chose Scirocco as my patron and respecced a bit out of concept. Since then I've had a great time and am now halfways to 43.

It wasn't a huge change, just swapped Swift, Flash Freeze, Recall Friend, Hover and Flight for Hurdle, Combat Jumping, Super Jump, Hasten and Super Speed. I was initially thinking Acrobatics instead of Super Speed but decided the stealth in Super Speed would be better for my overall survivability. It seems to have worked, I only have had one outdoor death since the respec and that was completely unavoidable. I will still get Acrobatics at 47 or 49.

So here's the build, feel free to comment. The respec was a very spur of the moment thing, so I'm surprised I didn't screw it up completely.

The bottom line for me was that Flight and Hover just weren't up to par as sole movement powers. 3-slotted Hover was too slow in fights and I couldn't afford to slot Fly at all. I didn't have any stealth powers so when approaching missions in tricky places and freezing out because of lag, I would get web grenaded and ganked by +6 Arachnos. Also, getting Hasten made an incredible difference to my controlling ability. I am still bitter about having burning hands, though.

It's PvE but meant to be PvP capable too. Once I get Power Sink I will switch the endurance reductions in attacks for second accuracies. Shiver is there for PvP considerations, but it's also a big part of my contribution to AV/Hero fights so I'm happy with it.
  7. I'd switch places for Aid Other and Fire Blast, and also probably consider pushing Medicine back like MaX says.

Regarding Combustion, are you sure the damage is disappointing? The planner numbers are often incorrect for dominators' assault powers because they're lifted from other ATs. I'd be surprised if it wasn't a lot better damagewise than the AoE attack in your PPP. Then again, looking at your build it might have been a good call to leave it out anyway since you're otherwise mostly ranged and it's not going to help your inevitable aggro problems.
  8. The reason I want to get Hasten is for the AoE controls to recharge quicker. The fact that it speeds up Domination recharge doesn't hurt either, although after I7 the recharge tends to be short enough anyway. Also really want to get rid of Flares in the attack chain because of the extreme suckage - it makes a bad Domination builder.
  9. My fire dom is only level 13 and still mostly on TOs but throwing in some comments anyway.

I feel that my fire dominator, much more than my ice/ice or plant/thorn, really relies on Domination at early levels. Flashfire seems relatively useless before heavy slotting and good enhancements and the immobilizes just get me killed without Flashfire. I'm basically getting by with minimal control (mostly just single target holds) and spamming attacks as much as I can to keep the Dom bar up so that I can hit Domination as soon as it recharges. I even have Brawl on auto, brute style. I feel that Fire Blast, being a quick blast with decent damage, is vital to this and I would not skip it. Flares really is pretty horrible and I'm planning to drop it from my attack chain as soon as I can but right now I'm still using it a lot. Not wasting slots on it though, I hope it will be long gone from my tray by the time enhancements start making a big difference.

Have to add that I've been soloing almost all the time so far. It soloes pretty well but the team contribution is a bit questionable as teams tend to slow me down and kill my dom bar and I don't have sufficient AoE control to make much difference otherwise

Really like your Fire Breath slotting and I'll probably not get the snipe either. Seems too slow to me. Oh, and I'd try to fit in Hasten.
  10. Congrats, you crazy dudes!

Now wondering if SS/DA is going to be the new FOTM...

To get a good hang of it, I think you should take a look on
    this awesome US guide:

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Seconded, that guide is great.
  12. My ice/ice was horrible to solo at low levels because of endurance problems. It's easy now that I have the pet and the level 35 and 38 attacks, though, as long as I don't try to solo AV -> EBs since they have AV mez protection.

Grav/ice might be easier to solo though because you'll get much more damage from my primary and while Ice/ gets better control, it's not really needed as much when soloing, what the small spawns.

My plant/thorn and fire/fire seem to solo a lot better out of the box.
  13. Would we have to be in squid form all the time?
  14. Electric Fence was bugged on test for a while. They had made a decimal error, so it was draining 10x as much as it should have. Sadly, that bug never made it to live
  15. Actually I think we should combine two excellent ideas and have an all scrapper drinking TF.
  16. Looks pretty good to me! I'm not sure the defdebuff is worth slotting but you can always change them to something else if it isn't. Regarding slotting order, I'd try to get the damaging (ie non Divine Avalanche) attacks 4-slotted pretty early, as well as 5 slots in Reconstruction. Slotting the passives can wait a bit more.
  17. Either 18:00 or 20:00 today is fine by me. Oh, and I'd be bringing my level 39 peacebringer
  18. What FireKitty said about Integration. 3-slot it with Heals asap.

Also, you don't need to slot endurance reductions in anything except the expensive toggles. Replace the endreds in attacks with damage. You could also get Stamina later, you won't really need it much until you have Focused Accuracy.

I don't know if the slots are in the order you'd take them. If they are, I'd do it a bit differently.
  19. Quoting TheJersey from memory:

"Fulcrum shifted Inferno for the overkill"

Now I don't have FS yet but Transference alone makes Inferno so good that I'd be crazy to skip it.
  20. I think they already reduced the animation time? Otherwise, it is being looked at but nothing has been promised
  21. I have a kinetics corruptor, pretty close to an offender gameplay-wise. Acrobatics made a huge difference to my survivability, so I'd definitely recommend either that or Hover.

    or have an end-heavy primary

    [/ QUOTE ]

Which reminds me, wouldn't it make more sense to put end reducers in the primary first, then? Even with MA, for example, when I'm doing damage in a burst, the endurance/second use of my attacks out-classes any toggles by a pretty large margin.

For example I just threw together an attack chain in the hero builder: DT, EC, SK, CK, TK, AS, SK, TK. The attack chain planner says it uses 5.08 endurance/second, before end reducers.

By comparison, the 3 SR toggles are 0.24 e/s each, so a total of 0.72 e/s. That's about 7 times less endurance per second than the attack chain.

I.e., it seems to me like even just one end reducer in each attack would save me about 1.25 e/s, while 3 end reducers in each toggle saves me about 0.3 e/s. So the former seems to me like it offers more return on investment. In fact, about 4 times more return for half the investment (slots.)

    [/ QUOTE ]

It does make much more sense, providing you can spare the slots. The trouble is that attacks have so many other enhancement types they could benefit from so you lose out on something (generally recharge) by slotting endurance reduction. I guess toggles are often slotted heavily for endurance reduction because it's easy, but really the second and third endurance reduction in a defensive toggle offers little return.
  23. I might be up for it, depends a bit on weather and general friday night plans. I'll know better tomorrow
  24. Congratulations, you crazy people! (Yes, that was a compliment )

Add Hurdle to make a good in mission travel power ( CJ + Hurdle = fast ) or Swift if you don't want to look like a mad jumpy thing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Mad jumpy thing?! Jumpy things aren't mad!

I like Super Jump myself but all travel powers are cool. I think everyone should try them all at least once. Getting Fly for the first time is one of the favorite CoH memories for many here.
