  1. I hoard temp powers like crazy, and since I can't regain some of them if used up (or get a tacky echo version), I end up never using them either! Only ones I regularly use is Shivans. XD

One of my brutes has like ten different guns on her...

    - And What Pool Powers Should I Add Along With Those?

    - How Would You Suggest I Slot It?
Almost any secondary would work with Martial Arts. Would you like resistance or defense? If resist, try Invulnerability, or Electric Armor. If defense, try Super Reflexes or Shield Defense.

Pool powers would vary, but almost all Scrappers take the Fitness pool (either Swift or Hurdle, and then Health and Stamina) and at least one travel pool (generally any but Teleport).

Work out what you want first and then your budget and such. Lots of people will try to softcap their characters (reach 45% defense) in certain areas if possible, or in Smash/Lethal as it covers like 70% of attacks in the game for more survivability.

Yeah, but with only three powers, it's not really that challenging. Needs more flashy laser effects!
  4. I'd like a Pulse Rifle powerset even if only for use in Mission Architect. More varied Custom Critters can be made with such a set.
  5. Having played through Lady Grey Task Force so many times, even with the recent green mito buff (which we still got through using a PuG without nukes or pets or controllers or dominators!), the strength of the AVs is just a tad... weak.

The Honoree is meant to be an epic-class AV who was a Hero-class entity transformed into a super Rikti/AV hybrid. Sure, he has Unstoppable which would push his Smash/Lethal resists beyond 100%, but almost all of the time he never uses it.

Dra'Gon and Lord of War: Hro'Dtohz are fairly big, and wearing giant armour and everything and they fall faster. Sure, Dra'Gon does exotic element damage, but most Tankers/Scrappers/Brutes have no problem with that anyway.

For a future update, might it be feasible to give The Honoree Reichsman-class HP, and Dra'Gon and Hro'Dtohz half of Reichsman-class HP? Also, allow Honoree to summon backup from the portal or something at 75%/50%/25% health if the generators weren't taken down (shutting down the portal) before engaging him in battle.

This would make the fights with the AVs more longer-lasting, as well as more tense due to backup, and increasing task force time, perhaps?
  6. I wish there was a solid reason for it too. XD Shield Charge can be used in midair, but not Lightning Rod. D: Maybe it has to do with Grounded, perhaps, being that your character is more vulnerable in the air and should use it on the ground? I dunno. XD
  7. European City of Heroes? Just checking, but are you opening the correct program and not the US version (that is, if your account is an EU account and not US account)?

In C:\Program Files\City of Heroes (if this is where you installed it), do you see:

    cohupdater.eu.exe

    ?
  8. Nice PuG we were in with the supposedly unbeatable LGTF.

    WE PROVED THEM WRONG!

If that PuG group was able to, that's pretty reasonable.
Not saying some teams may not get stuck though, and that does stink.
Of course, I've seen way too many groups of people/players ready to give up when I'm like, "Wha??? C'mon!! Let's adapt!! We can do this!!"
And, sure enough, we pull through.
As much as many say they want greater challenges... I've seen way too many groups bail at first signs of a challenge. Funny, ain't it?

Anyway, none of this is to say that the change was bad and/or shouldn't be adjusted.
I'm just pleased to hear results of successful PuG LGTFs in the current state.
For a PuG, our one was probably better than the average one, so that probably helped.

I would probably recommend slightly reducing the resistance and regen of the green mitos for teams without the ability to hold though... as it is, AVs will fall faster than a single green mito (unless you have exceptional timing to have everyone's damage spike at the same time).
  10. Just did LGTF on Union on a PuG team consisting of:

    Brute
    Blaster
    Defender
    Defender
    Defender
    Corruptor
    Scrapper
    Scrapper

Not a single Controller or Dominator. One of the Defenders was a pure Empath build, so that's really seven attackers.

We powered our way through the resistance and regeneration of the green mitos regardless, without using any special nukes or summons. It's weird when Honoree is weaker than a green mito. XD

Generally, 100% of your endurance is taken off. However, since there's no Recovery shutdown like with some other godmodes (like Elude, for example), if you're lucky, at the moment your endurance is going down, you might receive a tick of endurance which stops your toggles switching off.

I'm starting to wonder about the look of it - it's just strapped to his gauntlet with belts. Couldn't Marauder have visited Neuron or Anti-Matter or even some other scientist type to bolt it properly onto the gauntlet? XD
  13. What happened to Marauder's red sunglasses? XD

I do like his upgraded shoulderpad and added harness though. The belt upgrade is neat too. Dreads to make him a bit different than his previous appearance, and new facial hair...

Incidently, what is his origin? Tyrant's new origin was listed as magic (shouldn't that be Incarnate?), and Marauder doesn't even have one listed...

More interestingly, Marauder's AT has been changed to Brute, which gives him a Fury bar ingame in Going Rogue... may be a change of tactics there...

Is there any Willpower signature characters yet? If Back Alley Brawler and Marauder turn out to be Natural origin characters, how about having both their defensive powerset changed to Willpower instead? There's enough Invulnerability characters as it is already.

    Incidently...

Is that a mounted lasergun on his gauntlet? o_O

    The BEST Brute

My SS/SR brute is one of my favorite ones. The Rage crash on defense is easily dealt with by stacking Rage so it nullifies the -def drop. Can't do anything about the huge offensive drop, but attack using vet powers (for normal strength attacks which aren't affected by crash) or something like brawl and air superiority to keep Fury up and enemies momentarily on their backs.

Other combos I have at 50 include Energy/Inv (feels a tad weak now due to energy nerf, haha), Elec/Elec (no defense means you have to use IOs to build some up as well as Tough to fix Smash/Lethal hole, but Lightning Rod is great).

Other new ones I'm currently trying out is Dark/Fire, which seems nice so far.
  15. Crab is Operative Opiliones
    Soldier/Bane is Operative Solifugae
    Fort/Widow is Operative Acarina

Yeah, I'm pretty lazy when it comes to naming.
  16. Just something I've noticed on Tyrant's new bio:

    Secret Identity: Marcus Cole
    Origin: Magic
    Affiliations: The Praetorian Empire
    Archetype: Tanker
    Powersets: Invulnerability / Super Strength
    Height: 6'3"
    Weight: 225 lbs
    Eyes: Blue
    Hair: Brown
    Distinguishing Marks: None

Shouldn't his Origin be Incarnate rather than Magic, like Imperious, Statesman, and Reichsman? And also, Super Strength? So his Energy Melee attacks will be removed for Super Strength instead?

Biological Mutagen has a cap on how many you can buff at once, unfortunately.

    If I remember right, it's 20 targets.

    So:

    8 heroes/villains
    8 shivans
    4 HVAS

    Timed Missions

Well, your second mission is a defeat all. And you set your mission for 8 people?

Next time, you should consider lowering the number a bit, perhaps. :3 I do so quite often especially when it comes to timed missions. You have no idea in advance what size map it is, and due to it being a timed mission, I don't think you can reset it if you've accidently entered it with your team set to 8?

In short, remember where your local Hero Corps representative is when you find out your mission is on a timer!

    Let it: Snow

Just when I thought it was over, it snowed today at 8am and hasn't stopped!
  20. For Clockwork, there is the Psychic Clockwork group, which goes up to higher levels. But as their faction implies, they use Psychic attacks.

Your friend, providing he has one free slot left, can just randomroll a new character. Level 10 limit is only for creating new SG, not for joining. :3

Still, I do agree on somehow doing offline SG invites. Problem is, some people would abuse this heavily by spamming as many people as possible with it... which makes the shelved City Vault idea probably a good idea.

Speaking of which, I love how the "Used" part has comments from the sellers like:

"** SERIAL KEY & manual missing**! Included are the game DISC(S) with CASE and QUICK REFERENCE SHEET! This item is GUARANTEED to work as described! It is also GUARANTEED TO ARRIVE or we will replace for free! (all items insured through us for free!)"

To 'learn' how to play the game, i.e. a good starting Archetype for a beginning player, try a Scrapper (hero) or a Brute (villain). Both have high damage, and protection in the form of resistance or defences. :3

Later on, try out Blasters and Controllers and Dominators and everything else. You pretty much can't go wrong with a Scrapper or Brute as they can take care of themselves solo or in teams.
  25. Nobody's mentioned the pets a Crab can use?

Once a Crab summons pets to use, the Crab becomes a monster. All the pets are protected a little with Maneuvers, and once you reach level 38, it becomes even more easier as the two Disruptors have access to a hold each, which combined can hold bosses.

Even before that, Crabs have Venom grenade to knock down resistance of Bosses, so they can take them out easier. If you put an Achilles Heel or two into your attacks, you can do even more debuffing to them.

Of course, don't take this as any superiority over other VEATs, I like 'em all! :3 Eventually, roll a Bane Spider, and a Night Widow too!
