edit: if each person on a team of 8 can average 20 deaths/min for 45 minutes your team should get ~7200 deaths. Maybe halve that for travel time.

You have identified why scrappers will not get Ice Armor.

Icicles and Quills and Chilling Embrace immobilize the planet and the server would cry slow frozen tears.

and doing those arcs on a defender is a real pain in the rear.

I like the Barb Swipe animation... for Ripper. Give Barb Swipe a new animation. Shorten Lunge and Impale.

I probably still wont play my spines/vuln that much either way though.

Seriously, Confusion based powers are the best thing for buffing your XP/inf/drops over time. Possess is one of the best powers in the set IMO. Having a single target confuse is a huge benefit, esp when you can use it to reposition trouble mobs (they will run over the the main body of the spawn to attack someone), turn buffing/debuffing mobs to your side etc.

This is truth. especially when leveling up. Confusing ruin mages, tsoo sorcerers, and other irritating mobs in invaluable at times.

I would go for this as well
  8. My favorite is my fire/storm corruptor. Freezing Rain followed by Rain of Fire and Fireball. On AV's and such, add in Tornado. I rarely use or need Hurricane, but when I do it is a great addition.

It may not be the ultimate... but it is great fun.

The underground, however, has this wonderful gradual transition as you move from the sharp clean lines of the Praetorian underground sewer/train/etc system into this smooth curvy organic Geiger-esque hive of living plants and corrupted IDF & monsters, ending with the fight against the big bad Avatar.

Really I'm hoping we get some Praetorian Eden style zone that uses some of those art assets.
This sums up my thoughts. I like the Underground trial. TPN is kinda irritating. Keyes is not bad now.

    Bind Help

    /bind SHIFT+button5 "target_enemy_next$$target_custom_next void$$target_custom_next quant$$target_custom_next cyst"

this will help with the voids.

Binds and macros read from right to left. You need to move a few steps around. This is one, of many, binds I have. I have not played my PB in years, but I kept a copy of all the binds. This includes all the armors. Dont hit it too fast because it can skip ahead, so to speak. Or, do one for the from changing, and one for the armors, which ever way works best for you.

    /bind L "powexec_toggle_on Combat Jumping$$powexec_toggle_on Acrobatics$$powexec_toggle_on Thermal Shield$$powexec_toggle_on Quantum Shield$$powexec_toggle_on Shining Shield$$powexec_toggle_off bright nova$$powexec_toggle_off white dwarf$$goto_tray 1"

    /bind K "powexec_toggle_off bright nova$$powexec_toggle_off white dwarf$$goto_tray 1"

    /macro OS "powexec_toggle_off bright nova$$powexec_toggle_off white dwarf$$goto_tray 1$$powexec_name Essence Boost"

Since I ahve started playing again I have noticed that temp power drops seem to be more prevalent than any recipe drops. Non-incarnate trials, I can count the number of shards that have dropped across all my toons from several LGTF's, ITF's, Khan's, and now two STF's.

I just heard about the "converters" coming out... a way to change a crap recipe into maybe a good one... for a cost.

If the drop rate was lowered to increase purchases of converters then I will be disappointed.

    Barb Swipe

If I had to pick an animation that just says 'Scrapper', I would nominate barb swipe. It looks awesome. Of course..as it pointing out, the damage is utter crap for the amount of time it takes, as well as being a DoT.

I would suggest (and have before) that the animation get ported to Ripper..because to me, it looks way more rippy than Ripper actually does. Then give swipe an alternating single hand slash (in the way dual wield in DP changes hands). Of course..some people love the ripper animation, and fair enough. Can't please everyone.
I agree with swapping the animation with Ripper. I like the idea.

I know I use Cytos in Invincibility (always have) and the difference between them and enzymes were minimal.

In my shield toon, the enzymes make A LOT more difference...but its fair...we were "cheating".

But in powers like these, it would be nice to see them bump the HO to 50% or something..
HO's USED to be 50%... back in the day... (I never had any that high, they were lowered before I made it to Hami levels.)
  15. Ancillary Powers need some love too. Scorpion Shield is a good armor but only available villain side after choosing a Patron. The problem I have is it is the only defense based armor for defenders. Ice and stone have defense armors for controllers for those that want to look the part.

Energy Armor needs to be an option as well for hero side and those that do not want to look like an icicle or a rock... Just my thought.
  16. ice/stone for mitigation and ice/fire for damage. I have one and my wife the other. We dont play either of them now though.
  17. EA is really nice now, still not the best, but it is really nice. (dont want that nerf bat swinging at it...)

When you get to Incarnate level things, the Kin Combats are welcomed over the Smashing Haymakers, but that is because the soft cap needed is higher. Until that point though, the lower price works just fine.

I have a kin/EA brute I run in incarnate trials and it works great.

    I agree with this 100%.
  19. I have not read all of this thread...

I use acc/end mods and resist/rech frankenslotting for eclipse...

    73% acc
    102% rech
    44% resist
    21% end mod
    21%end reduction

no problems at all... (aside that devs still hate the aliens...)
  20. a couple of questions since I ahve been away for a little while.

Are the enhancements you get from orosboros different from the ones you get at the market? The ones in oros have a minimal level of 47 is why I ask.

aoe vrs single target? (haymaker or footstomp on my ss/sd?)

    Thanks.
  21. I have a rad/rad and the issue I have is during incarnate content, getting toggles dropped, or constantly having to reactivate both of them... because the target is dropped quickly, phases, or a variety of other reasons.

The toon over all is great, but not for incarnate content. I enjoy my fire/storm corruptor more for incarnate trials.

Right now I'm looking for a better brute, something that actually feels brutish and powerful to fight in a PvE scenario. My first thought immediately was Elec Melee/Fire Aura, the idea of a gigantic AoE spawn-killer felt like a lot of fun to me.

But I've been wrong before, in fact I've made a lot of poor choices in powerset choices when making a new toon, and a brute is not something I like starting over with. My questions are simple if an ELM/FA brute would be an effective toon in most PvE content or should I be looking at other powersets?

My goal for this new brute is trying to be a decently powerful, all-around brute for spawns, possibly AVs, can tank when he needs to, and possibly some PvP encounters with friends(Though this certainly isn't the focus). What powersets should I be looking at for this sort of thing?

I really enjoy my kin/energy brute. I was at 49 when the changes took place... and oh my did it make a difference. It does well in the incarnate trials too.

Scrappers and brutes in general can't break the game as well as a good defender/mastermind/corrupter/controller, and most defense sets have enough added survivability to make up for the lack of offensive tools. Shields doesn't give enough extra offense for me to justify the weaknesses (unlike fire, which can be made very survivable and is definitely better than shields on tanks and brutes for offense).
I am late getting to this thread, but this post made me laugh.

calling a fire tank more survivable and having more offense than a shield anything is funny. I can add all the defense I want to my fire tank... and it will do well in regular PvE. When you get to the Incarnate stuff... not so well.

Frankly, my Kin/Energy brute is better, I think, than my SS/Shield brute in incarnate trials. I dont run my ss/wp brute because it didnt do well in the beginning with the trials. (may be different now though)

I did not use enzymes on my SD toon, so this will change nothing for me. Hopefully it will make them cheaper for my storm toons though.

Ironically, the name of my SS/SD brute is "Internet Nerd Rage" and it fits after reading some of this thread.

    scrapper AT IO's

how do you get or make the superior version?
  25. Only able to be slotted in primary and secondary powers sucks... I was hoping to put it in the PPP but I cant slot it there.

I would have to redo my entire build to use it.
