Quote:They you have two options.I just want to pvp on freedom, not really in the mood to lvl a toon, regardless of how fast you can do it now a days.
- Pay for a server transfer
- Level someone up anyhow, either by getting in the mood or just buckling down and doing it anyhow.

But you're not interested in levelling and/or you don't have the inf to twink them out if you did, isn't that what you said?Quote:As for farms not being as good as they once were, there are still some hax ae maps that I would almost consider to be as good a place to pl as before ae, with bridges. -
Quote:If you mean "more inefficient", yeah. You're no longer soaking up +4 to +5 level XP.I find the SSK system inefficient than the "bridging" that used to be. Of course, I'm not saying that it's not welcome or unwelcome. Just a simple observation.
People are better off just cranking their personal difficulty and running missions as high as they can handle. -
Quote:With SSK, that doesn't really work too well anymore.you know people that charge lowbies to get in on the farm and just sit there
And with the leveling speed being what it is, it's not going to take you that long to hit 50.
Additionally, with the new difficulty settings, raking in XP and inf isn't going to be your problem. Simply crank the mob size up as far as you can handle. Running solo, XP will fall like rain, and you'll actually wind up running to WW and the store to dump recipes, enhancements, and salvage after every run or two.
With a bit of creative marketing, you can have plenty of inf to get your build tweaked once you hit 50. -
Quote:Usually CAPS are used to disguise substitutions(Zero for "o", a lowercase L as a capital i)
One trick I do from time to time is add a title(Mister, missus, Ms, Doctor). They can be abbreviated, and "Mr" and "Ms" can be used with or without a period(a period denoting married status).
Mister: Male, undifferentiated.
Miss: Female, unmarried.
Ms (Phonetic: Miz): Female, undifferentiated.
Mrs (Missus): Female, married.
As to the period denoting marriage. Uhm. No. That's someone selling you a bill of goods. -
I'm up for this. Red or Blue side (hell, I'd do them back to back).
Barring Real Life coming in and smacking me like a Hami-Rularuu tag-team, I'm SO there. -
Okay, now forgive me if I seem out of line (ooh, there's a song in there someplace..), but you've been on since August '09 and have aggressively badged? Likely on a single toon?
Correct me if I'm mistaken please. I can only really go by your Join Date, so if you're an X-month vet and/or playing on another account who's JUST discovered the forums, forgive me.
"New Content" IS being produced. However, players will ALWAYS tear through new content faster than the devs can put it out. Plus they have to spend time on bug fixes, costumes, powers and all the other subsystems that constitute the whole game. Not saying that to excuse the devs from creating it, just stating a bald fact.
If, in fact, you HAVE been somewhat monomaniacally running a single toon, try creating an alt or two (or ten) and run some of the content again utilizing different powersets.
The game isn't about "I've beat everything in the game on my [INSERT PRIMARY]/[INSERT SECONDARY] and now it's over." It's about, trying it with lots and lots of different power combinations. You became a world beater as an Inv/SS tank? Try it again using a Rad/Elec blaster. Or a Kin/Fire Corrupter. Try an Epic AT. Going through the game once, on a single character, and knocking out "EVERYTHING" is admirable. But, you did NOT hit "everything". -
Quote:1080p is equivallent to 1920x1080 (2,073,600 total pixels). He's getting higher vertical resolution, but less horizontal 1600x1200 = 1,920,000 total pixels). A 1080p screen would provide a WHOPPING 8% more screen real-estate.He has a 20", normal aspect ratio, high rez, flat panel which has a native resolution of 1600x1200
(already better than 1080p)
Seriously, at 16x12, he's perfectly fine and has zero real reason to look at a new monitor unless he's succumbing to "bigger=better" syndrome. -
Quote:What's so bad about calling someone a male chicken juggling thunder..kitty?Okay, my new favorite movie line is from Blade Trinity... and I can't even put it here. Quote:I have them all.Only two I have are Magic and MA.
With Magic I was full of oohs and ahs, MA left me feeling a little underwhelmed. The costume additions didn't do much for me. If it weren't for Ninja run, I'd have been very disappointed.
I've felt good enough about the stuff that I got in each of the packs that I simply have plunked down the cash for the next one as soon as they came out.
Are they PERFECT on release? Heck no! Discovered that one of the robes clips your arms if you've got your arms straight up. Oh well. I don't honestly expect them to be perfect on release. Too many years of dealing with the horrors of Microsoft software.
What they DO is provide me with more choice when working on a costume.
The additional power is just gravy (especially Ninja Run and Mission TP, those, all by themselves, are worth the $10). -

Quote:On occasion the updater will "stick".Not sure where to post this thread but this will have to do. I just downloaded the client to this computer and I went to the updater, and I have waited and waited and it still says "Connecting.. #1". If anyone has had this issue or just knows what to do, please let me know. Thanks in advance.
Shut it down (or kill the process), and restart it. -
Quote:Such mission builders aren't building their missions to maximize reward.Yes but you choose to put them in there knowing they are bad rewards.
They're building missions to tell stories.
If you want to maximize your rewards, play ticket farms or go play dev content. It really is that simple.
Dinging the author because you didn't get "phat lewtz" is, at it's kindest, retarded. -

Quote:The whole snarky tone of the letter had me rolling. And the sadistic pleasure of tweaking Hero1's nose was just hillarious. No ones gonna say it? Alright I cannot leave this unsaid. I absolutely LOVE Ruin's letter. It was just to awesome. Out of all the people who went sure he had motive for it that wasn't completely ...wholesome but good gravy... That was my favorite letter out of all of them. Don't get me wrong all of them were wonderful but his was the one that I fell in love with.
I think out of everyone he was the most willing to go. Everyone else went out of a sense of duty, the whole "I have to because its my job" or the went to escape something in there past. No one seemed so willing as he did to go save earth. Don't wanna say to much in case someone didn't read that letter yet :P

First I'll say this. It was your TF. You do what you want.
HOWEVER, I think you were being more than a little inflexible, ESPECIALLY since you kicked someone you KNEW was on their way back.
An hour is a piddling amount of time. Especially for a three man Posi. -

How do you usually slot singularity? It's more controllerish than other pets -- so do you enhance this aspect of it, or go with damage?
More pointedly:
1) How do you slot sing. when you're in the 30s, pre-enhancement sets?
2) What set(s) do you slot in sing.?
Thanks for any advice!

Quote:In other words, when the system isn't fast enough for your wants anymore, you upgrade. That's, essentially, whim.Did I say anything about upgrading whenever the whim takes me? No. I said my upgrading isn't scheduled around Going Rogue. What it *IS* scheduled around is the age and current performance of my computer.
Again, this person, while not COMPLETELY locked to a specific milestone, still has one in mind (Going Rogue). As I said in my previous posts, if his performance is acceptable NOW, he's best off waiting until specs are available for GR to make a better purchase decision than "well this is really REALLY powerful now, hopefully it won't suck in six months".Quote:The rest of your argument about waiting because computers will be more powerful in a few months is still absurd. That's not "making an informed purchasing decision". It's called being unrealistic about computer technology. It will ALWAYS be more powerful in a few months.
I'm not simply saying "computers will be more powerful in a few months". That's already known. What I'm saying is, if you don't have a TRULY compelling reason to buy RIGHT NOW, don't. You'll see better bang for the buck and greater system longevity by purchasing closer to the target date of your milestone.
No. It's still a reason. Simply not the ONLY reason.Quote:Sure, there ARE valid reasons to wait. As you say, if Going Rogue *IS* his main interest, then wait until we know more. If he doesn't have the money available, then wait and save. But "computers will be more powerful"??? Not a reason. -
Yeah. GeekSquad doesn't do any warranty work in-house. Heck, if it's more complicated than installing an OS or an app, or swapping in memory, they outsource it.
-
Quote:Actually, it is. If he's playing stuff (not just CoX) at an acceptable resolution and quality level currently, he has ZERO reason to upgrade. And, by waiting, he can maximize his bang for the buck and system longevity by purchasing closer to the debut of Going Rogue. This is ALWAYS the situation. Therefore, this is NOT a reason to wait.Quote:
there will be new stuff out, and today's top-end hardware will have come down in price.
Additionally, as he doesn't KNOW what the specs are for GR, he runs the risk of buying something inappropriate for his wants (being able to run Ultra mode) if he buys now.
In short, it's called "making an informed purchasing decision".
That's great and all. It's nice to be able to upgrade whenever the whim takes you. However, some people here are on budgets. Therefore they set certain milestones for themselves to justify purchases.Quote:P.S. I will NOT be waiting. My life (and computer usage) doesn't revolve around one game so the schedule for Going Rogue doesn't determine when I buy (or build, in my case). -
-
Reread what I said "in excess of 10 million". The highest priced one I can remember went for 18 million. Mostly because it was so out-of-line with the rest of my sales.
That Mastermind essentially funded the rest of my villaingroup.

Quote:Currently running Win7 64-bit. Haven't really had any issues with drivers.Right that would be a graphics card downgrade....
How about getting the phenom II 965 for $165?
I do hesitate to upgrade to 64bit because of that whole annoyance with unsigned drivers, have they changed that lately?
As to the CPU upgrade. It might give you a SMALL boost in some games that are CPU-limited. But overall, it's probably not going to add all that much. Your current 9950 is already pretty ballsy.
