You know, Kinda knew someone would rat this out. I have been buying pet defense IO's and such stockpiling for the day I would run blueside with my masterminds. Now the markets will flood with an increase in prices for the same items, luckily I have already 2 full purple sets waiting.

Would it be possible to just give the spec ops a flamethrower for a cone/fire damage? It would add a less resisted damage type and give it a targeted aoe or a cone like fire breath.

I am an adict, i've tried to hide it for too long. It is time to come clean and admit it.
The first sign of recovery is admitting to a problem. I just cant find anything as durable as my tankers. Defenders are just to squishy. Scrappers fear where tankers trod.
I am a city of heroes addict and im coming clean. -
Might I offer you a suggestion? Willpower is a odd tanker because of the regeneration portion of the build. You may want to try a different tanker primary to get an idea how the resistance or defense based sets work. If you are interested in tankers.
If you are on Liberty I can bring any number of tankers and walk you through it. The most important thing with tanks is to get your armors as tough as possible. If you play a defense based tank, ie ICE tank or Sheild you want to get your defense as high as possible. In the case of fire/dark/Elec/Invul you want to get your resistance as high as possible. The higher those scores the more damage you can shrug off.
With willpower your saving grace is regeneration. You want to get your regen as high as possible which means also getting your hitpoints as high as possible for higher regen rates. You also have a power that drastically increases your regeneration according to the number of foes near your. At higher levels that tank is awesome.
I would suggest a more middle of the road tank that is very durable. Invul tanks are very high resists and easy to get high defense also. They use stacked protection for a combined effect. The most durable tank is Earth tanks only when they get Granite armor. You might as well respec when you get it and get rid of all your other armors because Granite is the only armor you will want to use. Take a bunch of attacks, doesnt matter.
Start again from level 1 and go solo, run around and talk to npc's. Do every mission, look for badges. Have fun and do not be afraid to ask for help. Any of these tanks are awesome, I really enjoy my Ice/Ice tank. His defense is up to about 38% and most of the time he doesnt even get hit. I can up his defense some more with some enhancments and floor the percentage to take a hit. Ice slick really helps keep the damage from slipping through also. -

Might I suggest something. Invul can be very powerful. I recommend trying an Invul/Fire tank. Starting out it will help you more with aggro because of the number of AOE attacks. Combustion and Fire Sword Circle can do plenty on the aggro meter. My first tanker to 50 was a Fire/Fire and my second was a Dark/Dark. I love tanks as a class, I am currently working on an Ice/Ice tank and got him to almost 40, he is an aggro magnet, just doesnt do anywhere near as much damage as a /fire tanker.
I have not gotten my invul to 50 yet because I got to brickstown and kinda fell outa love with Invul. I found the risk in the fire/dark/ice tanks more to my flavor. -
Quote:This sounds just like a mac to me, works perfect till you make a change then they go to pot. You may have to wait for Apple to recertify new drivers for your internal ATI card. I dont think you can goto ATI and get them because apple is very protective on the software that goes into their computers. Your issue I belive stems from the change in graphics drivers dealing with City Of Heroes. So I use Leopard, because I can't upgrade to Snow Leopard until some work software becomes compatible.
Despite the fact I'm on Leopard, "Donovan" from COH tech support just told me to update to the latest Snow Leopard.
What the hell? Are they even paying attention?
At least with a PC you have the option to update your video card and or drivers, even degress drivers to a stable or prefered version. Are you using Bootcamp on your mac? At least you can boot into Windows and update drivers and still be able to play, your intel based mac is more than able to handle it. -
As of looking at it, it says allowable enhancment sets, resistance is there.

Great I was trying not to dip into the fighting pool for tough. Being a Demon/FF mastermind I needed a slot for Steadfast +defense and wanted to make sure I could slot in pet.
-
I have a question about steadfast protection +defense. I realize that it benifits myself if I slot in tough or any other armor etc... I want to know from a Demon Summoner point of view. My second tier pet can take resistance IO sets. If I slot steadfast +defense in my pet does it cover the pets or me? Possibly Both?
Thanks -
I went with dark and red highlights and it is not as noticable. By the way with my son teaming with his Crab epic, my bubbles with his Defense aura's we have over the soft cap for defense. That rocks so hard, it is just soooooo goood. I would be investing in IO's but... stupid market is down.

I only have 2 suggestions. I have used the previous freebies but nothing is free on the internet. We tried avg and got a virus and it could not remove it. So no more freebies for me. I use TrendMicro Internet security. It is about 10 dollars on Ebay for a 3 license version. It not only will clean virus and spyware but will prevent infection. I also turn on parental controls to block websites to further inhance protection.
My second suggestion is a little known one. www.stopzilla.com
Bar none it is the best for removing persistant spyware, trojans, and virus infections. For a client that had the nail.exe trojan, I used everything I could try and it would reinfest each time. Stopzilla not only removed but marked everyfile that interacted with it then removed them all at the same time. It was rock solid. Another computer it removed 10000 infections, that was a record for me. Poor mother didnt know her son was into gay porn. Sorry!

My favorite moment is herding the dreck map with my buddy who was a invul/mace tank and I was playing a fire/fire tank( my first 50). We had about 300 freaks jumping all over us and I looked over at my buddy and called him a sissy. Imagine that a fire tank calling an invul a sissy. Man we laughed. That is when I fell in love with being a hero and felt powerful. Since then I cant even hardly play my tank anymore, the nerf bat really hurts.

Be moving the requirment to level 20 means only one thing. Incarnate at 50 in its place. I just hope I dont have to have a 50 Heat/Veat to unlock it. I really cant get into playing a keldon.
I am happy tho, I got on last night for 20minutes and made a character on Liberty.
Oni-desu a wonderful now level 9 Demon/FF mastermind!!! WhooooHoooo -
Server stayed down extra long today and came back up after I left work. I can not get on now till I get home at 12. Lucky bastages!!!!!! I am missing the FUNNNNNN!!!!!!

I have a 28 DS/FF on test and am happy with it. It has enough skippable powers after leadership, leaping, and fitness that I can get all the whip attacks and epics.
My defense on pets is just over 30% and with my son teaming with me pushes the soft cap with his defense buff. I can not comment on whip yet, but I got to 28 in only about 3 days of play time and it has been a blast.
But... realize there is a bug with the enhancments on pets. The second teir pet gets both damage and resistance from Damage IO's and or Resistance IO's. You do not get the full damage bonus from the IO, but if you slot 3 level 25 damage IO's you will get 60% damage buff and 60% resistance. When they fix this bug my pets will not have the same survivability. -
I did this with my master mind. Each master mind has 3 buttons default for controlling pets.
You can right click and edit these buttons. One is attack, one is follow, and one is passive. I edit the buttons so that attack -aggressive is now attack -defensive. Follow is changed to follow -defensive.
I do that so by default if I tell my pets to follow me or attack something they will fall back into body guard mode by default. I also have my pets follow me and I jump into the middle of spawns and get aggro, allowing bodyguard to protect me. Makes me feel like im playing my tank, just have to baby sit the pets. They will attack anything that is attacking you.
I am having a blast with my Demon/force field MM. I have a 50 Bots/Dark also. Each plays different. I deleted a 34 Ninja/Force Field because they just plain suck. My son plays a 44 Mercs/Traps and loves it. If you want a piece of advice pick Mercs, Thugs, or Bots first to try out masterminds. They are all mostly range and you can experiment on secondary's. I went dark because of the debuffs and I get an extra pet.
I hope that helps. -
I have a level 21 Mastermind on test. As I leveled up and 6 slotted both of the Pets that I have I noticed something strange. On my tier 2 pet I slotted 2 Damage IO's and I got damage and resistance percentages. When I added the third damage it would only increas damage by 2.4% It was tapped out at 59%. My tier 1 pet has 89.9% damage but my tier 2 can not go over 60. Infact I added a level 20 resistance IO and now he has a 62% to damage and resistance.
I do not believe this is a correct value. I submitted already with a /bug command.
My character is Master Tofu on test server 1. -
Rolling DS/FF all the way here. Looking forward to seeing what full bubbles would do on these little demons.
-
Going Demon/FF and it is going well so far. No deaths and already got multiple bubbles.
I did this because I know they have resists but playing mostly resist tanks, they will get whittled down. With maxed out bubbles their longevity vrs normal and LTs will be awesome, and I cant say yet for AV's and or Bosses.
I thought about dark because I have a 50 bots/dark and found it hard to keep them close enough for healing. I will let everyone know about FF. -
I only have a couple level 50's and they are mostly tanks.
I would hands down, if you have a blaster to do the damage, take a Ice/Ice tank.
My ice tank is only 39 I think but is very rock solid. The slows and ice slick make it so that the blaster can full tilt rain of fire and mobs can hardly move.
Second Choice, Sheild/any. Sheild tanks can be quite nasty and their taunt aura can help alot. -
I have many tanks and all of them with taunt, I am not starting a taunt thread....
I am not a fan of guantlet, I wish it would be a AOE splash damage debuff rather than a taunt splash. Just think of how the fear of a moving smashing wall will affect the fighting spirit of that helion? He wont be near as hard hitting! -
No one mentioned the set bonus? I love getting 2%, 2.5%, and 1% recovery bonus's along with regen and defense etc...
Cant get that with IO's or SO's. -
Funny, 5 computers in my house all run vista save the windows home server. All on vista 64 bit ultimate edition with service pack 2, full version from technet not the beta version.
I dont have any crash issues. 3 of my computers are laptops with ati and nvidia integrated graphics and no crashes.
My bet, you have a hardware issue. Possibly a cheap video card or a chipset fan not working. -
I am the proud owner of my new Level 50 Mastermind Assaultbot Prime. He adds with my level 50 fire/fire tank Humbler and my other 50 tank Nightmare Whupping. Been playing on and off since 2004 I think and almost completly quit after the fire tank nerf to burn and ..... ED. Thank you all for the good times and the wonderful groups ive been in.
Kudo's to liberty the best server!!! With the best peps of course.
