Quote:1. I'd like to see stories of people outside of Praetoria city.First off,
This is a great conversation. The Lore/Stories are an important and vital part of CoH and a huge reason that many are so invested.
So in reading this I'm seeing requests for continuation of the story of Malta and the Shadow Shard story lines.
What other stories do you feel need to be further explored?
2. I would like to learn what demon the Skulls bargain with for their powers and what ramifications it has.
3. I'd like a detailed story arc regarding Praetoria's Hamidon wars, giving insights into the physical and metaphysical differences of the two hammi's as well as weaponization potential. Maybe Praetorian Hammi made Tyrant so powerful because it doesn't drop Hammi-O's but special Hammi-Shards?
4. I'd like to know more of the background of the "color crew": Crimson, Indigo, Veridian.
5. I want to know more about Tub Ci's rise to power on Primal Earth. -
I'd cry and then wait for someone to make a superhero or world of darkness mod for Minecraft.

Replace them with sonic walls.
Hail Cole! -
Quote:That looks like Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters meets Stephen King's "Rose Red."So far, the only thing we've seen that looks like it's outside the sonic fence is this concept art for Mother Mayhem's asylum, which looks like it's on the shore of a sea or a large lake:
There also doesn't seem to be any kind of sonic fence around it, but that could just be further away - like the asylum could be on an island in the middle of a lake, and there's a sonic fence all around the shore. -
My first LRSF went very well, (especially after realizing the comical applications of taunt against flying melee characters *think spinning aerial ballet punctuated with attempts to hit me for ridiculous amounts of damage*)
My Statesman TF's, while mostly successful (only 2 fails) I always felt harried and overwhelmed up to the point Recluse died. It's my least favorite TF ever and even though I ran it several times, I still get nauseous thinking about it. I got rares on the two most important toons. The rest are going to wait for a new WTF. -

I like Animated Universe's compromise: the jet is ultra tech and she uses it for passengers. I really would like for her to fly. Barring that, at least "ride on air currents" which pre crisis Wonder Woman could do, but Wonder Girl seemed to do more than anything.

I don't know if anyone can answer this yet, but will the STF/LRSF award the Favor of the Well at -1 Diff?

Bale is a metabolic yo yo with demonic weight control powers. Have you seen his crackhead look from the Fighter? Weight is like clothing for him.

Quote:In my mind, at least Post Crisis, Clark Kent had the build of a mesomorph who did significant labor on a farm prior to his powers kicking in and he just kept the build afterward. Not bodybuilder, but definitely "corn fed." Well that was my thought at least until the last latest retooling of Superman's Post Crisis origin to put him back in the Legion of Superheroes.I agree. I mean, how would Superman get a weightlifter's muscles? Bench press oil tankers? Sure, it worked for Mr. Incredible, for comic effect, but a more "realistic" Superman wouldn't have that training montage or the time to constantly keep in that kind of shape.
Nearly every Kryptonian that has cropped up sense then, counting the Daxamite Mon El, haven't had Superman's build. It could be attributed to them arriving already old enough for their powers to fully manifest and taking any load off of the muscles. With Chris Kent/Lor Zod being the most glaring exception but he was genetically engineered anyway and had all sorts of issues. -
Quote:I'm not worked up. This is tennis. And this guy won't buff up for the role as well? Please...
I ultimately really couldn't care less how this new guy exactly stacks up to any of the other actors before him but seriously do you actually think he's that significantly different measurement-to-measurement from those other guys? Do you really think they are going to be letting him look like a beanpole in a major motion picture despite what silliness JMS is currently doing to "Twilightfy" the character?
Dang, and here I thought people got worked up about who might be playing Wonder Woman. And when/if Cavill buffs up I will post a pic and say, "Now that's Superman." Which was my reaction when I saw Chris Evans.
I'm oddly removed from the Wonder Woman issue. With David E. Kelley at the helm I don't want to have any expectations. -
Quote:I hate to break it to you, but Reeve and Routh buffed up to play Superman and George Reeves was already big.I suppose this is just a matter of perception and perference. The "source material" they are actually drawing from appears to be many of the previous live action actors who've played the part. If you feel that none of the previous live action actors ever lived up to your mental comic book image of the character then ultimately that's your problem, not mine. YMMV of course.
. If anything I think your ideas are inline with JMS's vision which just may become dominant.

Quote:Her rippage has been variable, from rather extreme in Infinite Crisis to her current look. She's still slightly bulkier than Wonder Woman has been depicted at her most athletic, which has been the Hughes covers.Power Girls isn't really muscular either - she's just robust - strong, but still feminine.

Quote:My point was with the character's depiction in the source material. My point clearly was that a guy who's got superpowers based on his alien DNA does not really have to look like a non-green version of the Hulk to be believable. As long as an actor is fit and "in the ballpark" comic book image wise it'll be doable. I'm quite sure the magic of Hollywood is quite good enough that even Paul Reubens (a.k.a. Pee Wee Herman) could pull it off if given half a chance.
As for Hollywood magic, the can be better spent on more special effects and not just special effects for pecs.

Quote:I would "argue" that Supergirl has never been depicted as being muscular. That's Power Girl's shtick. Although I would have used pictures of Zap from American Gladiators (http://www.rayehollitt.com/gladiate/PGladiate.html) instead of Chyna.Of course there'll be people (like me I guess) who'll argue that Superman would not have to be a super-huge Hercules looking guy to be believable. It's his "powers" that make him super-strong, not his basic muscle mass.
Put another way would you argue that Supergirl
From his first appearance Superman has been a muscle man. Not Ah-nuld, but he wasn't thin and ripped. Although given the success of JMS's "Superman for the Twilight generation" Warner will go for a thinner Man of Steel. -
Quote:Those pictures don't say "Superman" more "Invincible."They invented this thing called weightlifting. It's kind of amazing in that it makes your muscles bigger.
Check out a pic of him as Theseus in the upcoming film Immortals. He's not huge, but he's freakin' ripped.
Weightlifting worked for Chris Evans and Christian Bale, but until I see the stills, he's fricking "Supertwink." -
Quote:Aqualad is Black Manta's son and Garth will be Tempest. Not a spoiler, the creators of the show have been talking about it. Also Miss Martian in reg continuity is a White Martian and not related to the Martian Manhunter, so if she is an actual relative, that's a big difference. This is Earth-16.
The only thing know about Earth-16 outside of this series is that batman and Superman either have or ran a simulation where they had gotten married to women and had children.
Robin is Dick Grayson.
Kid Flash is Wally West.
Superboy is Superboy
Aqualad is ... the guy who made his first appearance within the last few months and haven't taken on the role yet.
Miss Martian is the same char as usual.
So the only character on the team that is actually part of the New Earth Young Justice is Superboy. This show is actually my Teen Titans than Young Justice.
Also it seems the Comic series takes place in the same universe, but isn't the comic version of the universe, but rather extra stories. -

I ran into an odd bug (or maybe not) at the end of an ITF earlier this week.
I had 3 ancient nictus fragments (or whatever the incarnate ITF reward is called) banked, and when I tried to claim a 4th, the interface locked up and I wound up with nothing.
I bugged it but haven't heard back from customer support. Has anyone else run into it or am I crazy for running around with that much TF reward salvage banked? -
Congrats on the promotion Ghost Falcon and welcome to the field Second Measure!

This is the best thread ever. The the transformed movie dialogue almost made me snort Coca Cola.
