The maximum number of tickets awarded per player per mission has been reduced to 1,500 tickets. Because you cannot get a partial reward for defeating an enemy, you may end up with slightly less.

so I guess the whole risk vs. reward thign goes out the window once again in favor of all risk and no reward....sigh, well so much for MA missions.... -
hmmm....I wonder if Vills that go good will have access to the blue side market?....

the biggiest problem is when the different instance bug hits or the entire team map serves, the team in most cases falls apart. By the time the GM shows up the team is either reformed and doing something else or your now on a different team.
but I swear if my whole team map serves and I /bug it and they ask me for a hijack this....I'm gonna break something. -
after 3 /petition's for a GM to get us into an ITF door and getting canned replys I gave up. Besides if I did it each and every time it locked someone on the team outside ti would be about a 100 tickets by now.
-
so which firewall setting and or router problem is causing entire teams to map serve when entering a mission, TF, Req, MA whatever? Or what setting puts half the team in one instance and the other half in a different instance? If your not seeing these sort of things then your not looking hard enough. Since all the emergency patches started flowing after I14 dropped one or the other of the above has happened to a team I was part of at least ONCE a night on protector.
I figured having to have a GM get us into 3 consecutive mission doors on the ITF would be a flag....but I guess not.
Yall have a problem with the mapserver on protector (thats where I play, cant speak about other servers) and we'd like yall to fix it.
By all means undermine the system if it gets fixed. Thats better than canned email responses. -
I pulled my Ageia card when i went triple SLI.....so I can say CoH no longer ues it...not even the GPU based version....but Farcry 2 looks amazing
-
its protector wide ATM
-
it seems to be on protector.....its happed to my ITF team 2 mish in a row....GM had to fix the 1st one
-
ITF, Mish #3 mapserved on entry
GM fixed it,,,,,Mish #4 same thing....GM has yet to respond
Protector -
Cheese in a can! and or silly string......would be a controller set.
Wammo! Scrapper! flinging frisbee's, Superballs, Silly Puddy etc at bad guys....hey it could be fun.
MotorHead dude....(no not Lenny) that carries a huge torque bar and throws things like piston rods, cranks, and heads (cylinder....not dead).....
or maybe not....... -

I got charged for 3 packs (I was only trying to buy one), I have 2 accounts so I used 2 of them but this is kinda nutty. -

Really? How long has it been since I13 beta? 2 months? 3 months? We base builders are STILL waiting for a credible answer to the salvage thing. The removal of badges and the actual ability to use the "new" feature in order to earn a hard to get badge getting taken away with no more than a "Shhhh...maybe they wont notice...oh crap they did....ummm...sorry this didnt make the patch notes" set of actions makes me wonder what the hell they are thinking. I add this to the whole PvP thing, the Merit thing, the state of the market, the you have to have the entire team in one zone to set a mish thing. and remembering how they pretty much ignored all the feedback in open beta (cant comment on closed beta as I wasnt there, but people I have talked to say a lot of stuff got ignored there also) and I really have to wonder, do they care? or are they so intent on getting a few shinnies in the game to counter other products due out this year that they are unwilling to look back and see the wreckage left in the wake.
Since I13 dropped, I have been finding other things to do with my gaming time more and more. My game time has dropped from several hours everyday to an hour or so here and there a week or every 2 weeks. I was here for 2XP weekend but as i said 80% of my global list wasnt, my SG is down to 10 or so active members, and its getting harder and harder to justify keeping 2 accounts active.
Since you are fond of old homey sayings....hows this

Leave the dev's alone.
They worked miracles with 13 people, now that they're on steroids and upstaffed you're going to see some AWESOME content coming.
Let. Them. Work.

I dont care if they are snorting magic pixie dust directly off their keyboard trays and engaging in pagan fertility rituals....
silence on the crafting issue that was offered as a "benefit" of the base salvage debacle and then having said benefit yanked out from under us with not a word or warning plain sucks. And we are Still waiting on a actual answer as to why this change occurred and not the mythical "Some people were too stupid to understand base vs. invention slavage" popup screen thingy issues.
80% of my global friends list didnt bother show up for 2xp Weekend, and thats never happened, and several of them are people I have gamed with since the 90's. Things are slipping, and we seem to be taking 2 steps forward and 6 steps back -

At a guess, it will likely be a bullet point from the community reps at a meeting talking about player feedback. Something along the lines of "Players are upset about this change."
Then they'll have to debate this or something else they deem more important (at which point this will get lost in the shuffle).

It seems like a LOT of stuff is getting lost in the shuffle of late.......

Allow me to lead off by saying thank you for adding a feedback thread for bases. Also thank you for a lot of the changes included in I13, many of them are much welcomed.
Objective Feedback:
As others have said, the west and south wall placement issues are a problem. items seem to be placed in the vertical plane of the low wall trim, even in using the side wall trick (using a wall that you can place a wall item on and then sliding over to the borked wall) to set vertical placement and then moving to either south or west wall. The Pocket-D beacon is displayed as broken but still works, so I am unsure if this is a bug or "displaying as intended". But really how hard is it to have it display a hot Carnie babe dancing in a cage?
Subjective Feedback:
Subjectively speaking.....2 gigantic sized thumbs up for a lot of the changes. The pricing changes allowed my small but packed to the rafters SG to expand from a 8x12 to a 16x20 plot size. The automated refund on already crafted items was a great help in allowing me to save on costs by not having to re-craft items. A big thank you for that. Removing the raid pathing from the base items so as to allow better stacking and combining of elements is a wonderful addition to base editing (as long as it wont come back to bite us in the backside once raiding is turned back on for those of us who have zero intention of allowing raids in out bases).
Base Salvage changes are not welcomed as in the long run it will cost base builders cash out of pocket (so to speak) to buy IO salvage needed for future expansions. Instead of a large, cheap, basically unlimited supply of items needed to craft not only base items but also empowerment station items, we now have to rely on either blind luck in the form of IO salvage drops or blind luck with brainstorms (which have been tested to reveal that using the RNG to convert brainstorms into salvage is about the same as waiting for a mob to drop that one specific piece of salvage you need to craft an item)....both of which are rather less than reliable to meet specific crafting needs. This pretty much forces base builders to interact with the market and the people playing City of Gordon Gecko, where prices for any base related salvage jumped as soon as the recipe requirements were posted in open beta. So the market which we were always told was totally optional, is now not so if you are a base builder. Its those choices or have to rely on the kindness of individual SG members who are also wanting to use IO salvage for actually building IOs, you know, their intended use.
As far as empowerment stations go, they were pretty weak to begin with in a usefulness sense, and now begin required to use IO salvage, they have gone from weak to completely un-useful, and thus I suspect many SG/VG leaders and base builders have done the same as me....just removed them from the base and thus also remove a useless item that also caused 100 rent.
Overall subjective Base Salvage feedback is negative. It was poorly thought out and implemented.
Rent is a sticky issue because for my SG (I only have 1, and it takes enough of my time that I dont intend to do this all over again some place else) I already paid rent pre-I13. I am thankful that my rent went from 20000 to about 1800 so that is a bonus. But I can understand some of the angst coming from others who specifically built their SG/VG bases based on the "build on the basic plot size and within its limitations and you will be rent free" issue.
Storage Changes. Much like the base salvage issue, this has been extremely poorly implemented. Salvage racks went from 999 to 30 (yes anything already in the rack does not disappear, you just cant add anything to it until it is under 30 items). So the intent seems to be to limit the players ability to actually store items for community use. But on top of that, the plot based storage limits were not raised. Pre-I13 this was not an issue for the most part because 1 or 2 salvage racks would take care of any and all needs of a SG/VG in terms of base salvage storage, holiday item storage, and component storage for empowerments and crafting. But now that those racks are limited to ridiculously small amounts combined with not having the plot storage numbers raised, we now have very limited storage available to us, generating a net LOSS of storage. Here is what I mean. In my base, I have enhancement storage for basic IOs. 10-15, 15-20, 20-25, 25-30, 30-35, 35-40, 40-45, and lvl 50. Thats 7 bins, for basic IO storage for use by SG members. I have 6 IO set storage for SG members to place crafted IO sets in. Thats 13 total enhancement storage. 2 Inspiration bins brings us to 15 storage items which leaves me with a whopping 3 salvage racks which now wont even hold all of out Halloween costume pieces, never mind any other salvage items the SG would like to place in racks for the SG as a whole to use.
So in a rush to eliminate something that was never an issue. Stop floating that dead fish of "some players are disappointed when getting base salvage instead of IO salvage" because all you had to do was ADD the words "Base Salvage Found" and let things continue working as they had before. Instead you have added needless cost and layers to a system that was fine to begin with, and have now actually taken away useable storage space within the SG, gutted an already underused and weak empowerment station to the point of having us remove them from bases and thus not having to pay rent on something thats borked and not worth the cost, or effort to use, all for the sake of mystical confused players.
So all in all 4 giant steps forward and 6 or so steps back. In talking to my group of players that I interact with on a regular basis, the Base Salvage and Storage issues are a big fat black cloud of a negitive hanging over some really great base changes. Its these kind of issues that drive us crazy when it comes to dealing with the Dev team. You do some really great things and make us say wow a lot. And at the same time you do things like Salvage and Storage that make us question if you actually play the game or even look down the road to see how things like this will effect the players.
Anyway, you asked for feedback, and again thanks for adding a Base and Editor Feedback thread, and I hope some of this will help the Dev team make better choices in the future.
Wow...sorry for the wall of text.............. -
Thanks Ex and NCSoft, for the additional freespec. I know this was to make up for the 1 hour notice on the last one as I13 went live. Because I have not even used that one yet, I will take this latest one in the spirit of the season, and say thanks.
To be totally honest, since I13 went live, I have done 1 ITF, and thats it as far as playing goes, all my other time since has been in the Base editor....yes I'm playing City of Architect (in my real job I pretty much do the Architects work for them so why not actually design in CoH) and having fun figuring out neat crap to do with stacking =) -
1. Stripper Pole
2. Bar ware
3. actual flat screen tvs
4. Heineken Kergorators
5. lighted floor panels (see item 1)
Wha....? Dont tell me nobody was not thinking of these -
well this is what i get for escorting B17's from Belgium to Regansburg and back again all night (5 hours worth of flying time), a sore shoulder, tired back and missing Sunstorm's entry into the fray.
Welcome Sunstorm!
Ex, I have offically put the pitchfork away.
So far reading the posts before me, I feel they have pretty much asked the questions that are foremost in my mind, so i will await further info, i may not like everything you said in your initial post, but at least we are not shouting into the void anymore, and for that I say thanks, and also Thanks Ex for pulling on the hip waders, and slogging thru the mess that landed in your lap.
I'm off to bed, I feel like I just did a Posi TF with newbies, at least I was able to land back at Bodney after a long hard flight. -
Oh and Ex with the "no suggestions" part...your telling us that once again things are pretty much set in stone and because we have been pretty much ignored for about 3 weeks, we are SoL? Nice....why ask for feedback at all then?
And i do realize this was dumped in your lap....but really the shear gall of this is.....well.....galling -
Base Repricing
1) How will the repricing of bases affect you personally?
**this is a really nice addition, thanks its been a long time coming
2) Will you dismantle your base to gain the additional prestige from the repricing?
** yes other than the TPs, see below
3) How long would this process take you if you were to engage in this practice?
** a day or so
4) What are the positive and negative concerns regarding repricing?
** positive - its cheaper to build a larger base. Negative - is the time wasted having to scrap everything and rebuild
5) How will this feature affect you long term and short term?
** long - a much nicer base on a larger plot, Short - time spent having to rebuild everything
Base Salvage Exchange to Invention Salvage
1) What is the negative effect on your base for this feature implementation?
**WTF were you guys thinking. Having base builders and SG's in general now have to compete with IO's Dual Builds AND now base crafting out of a already small pool items when we ALREADY have the stuff needed to craft stuff for a Base. DO NOT blow smoke up my leg about "people" being dissapointed with seeing "slavage found" and its only base salvage doesnt wash...its horse bleep. And to make matters worse you are now FORCING people to use the "OPTIONAL" market and be at the mercy of the trolls over there flipping and playing City of Stockbroker. Why add needless layers of crap over a system that was not in any way, shape or form broken or needing anything done to it in the 1st place.
2) What is the positive effect on your base for this feature implementation?
**NONE, zip nada...less than nothing, now I will have to spend inf to get the pieces I need because we all know the RNG will not land on everything we will need when we cash in a brainfart.....this is a big bad mistake on the Dev teams part, which we have been saying now for 3 weeks.
3) How long will it take you to adjust to learning this new system?
** how hard is it to learn Keno? because thats what this system is when it comes right down to "hoping" the brainfart will lead to that one piece of slavage needed to make something. HOW frakking hard was the old system to learn? load up a bunch of salvage on a toon, look on the table to figure out what components were needed and then mash the buttons to make the components. Hell even a caveman could do it. AND IT DIDNT COST ANYTHING TO DO SO.
4) What side effects to this system do you currently see from transitioning the old to new system?
**You mean the 30 items of storage you have "Granted" us to go along with your shinny new IO salvage system....thanks for nothing. Effects? how about the now perceived notion that you people have lost your minds? that you are willing to take 1 step forward (rent and price reductions) and 3 giant leaps back with the rest of this tripe? How many more effects would you like?
5) What security concerns do you have regarding this change?
**What security? you mean the crappy one we have in place now on Live where SGs are regularly robbed? In my SG once I clean out the bins of the now useless base slavage, I will be lockign down access to all storage to SG leaders only, which is going to screw everyone else because they wont be able to get IO out of storage or Insperations or the IO salvage out of the GIANT salvage racks that could be replaced with a file cabinet...they will have to wait till a SG leader logs on to get anything out of storage because with the way permissions are now, with being able to store Rare IO slavage, I will be damned if I will allow some knucklehead to come in and steal us blind and sell it on the market. If you guys cant see that coming....then.....well maybe game system design is not really for you. -

so what I am seeing is that as far as IO salvage requirements go...they went right ahead and did all the stuff we feared and told them not to do and made it extremely retartedly complicated on top of that......great....and people wonder why we were pissed in the first place.
Can someone tell me how the placement costs are being handled if you already have items crafted and sitting on your person ready to place? I'm on a hard deadline at work and wont be able to even get in game till maybe Sat. -
I'm glad they spent all that time on the holiday stuff like the zombie invasion.....which reminds me....oh thats right, I have yet to see a zombie invasion......
