    I've had my pets do some pretty stupid things in fire. Not just scattering, but running to the other end of the level, and basically making me realize that pet stupidity is the cost of being uber.
  2. I got a bots/pain to 50, and I've got a thugs/pain at 37. However, I was wondering what you guys would consider to be a much better investment to fully IO out for general PVE and PVP. Thugs/pain seems to have some good damage, but much more annoying pet AI.

    On the other hand, bots/pain seems to have better survivability, slightly less DPS, and that annoying knockback that can admittingly be curtailed with electrifying fences, even though the range on that is miniscule.

    So what would you guys recommend would be a better investment for spending my hard earned inf on to fully slot out?
  3. Bots/dark is incredibly awesome, especially at 50. Basically, you're an invincible debuffing machine (buffing as well if you take leadership buffs). The only way to really die is from holds, so keep some break frees with you. But bots/dark meshes so damn well, you have your buffs from the protector bots, but you also have some great crowd control for your burn patches.

    I also recommend a thugs/storm MM. I'm very much so considering rolling a /pain or /dark thugs MM next. Bots has better aoe damage and better for soloing AVs I think because of the -regen capabilities, but thugs is nothing to scoff at either with some incredible damage, aoe and single target wise. Both look really cool as well.

    Next, I'm considering either a thugs/pain or /dark.

    I'm gonna tell ya something with bots and pain.

    I had some issues with crowd control on my bots/dark. I didn't realize how bad it was with bots/pain.

    Basically, mobs are gonna be flying *everywhere*. I mean EVERYWHERE. You won't get a crowd control set till your epics, and even then, you'll still have to accomadate for the fact that you'll either still have things knocked around, just not moving so much, or if you get electric fences, you'll have to worry about recasting all the time because of its pitiful radius.

    It's a fantastic combination for survivability, but you will have to work around it a LOT.
  5. It would be really cool if it was some sort of actual banishment power. Like you completely dismiss the mob away, but you don't get any reward from it.

  7. I have a 50 bots/pain and I'm looking over the possible combinations of a CC from the patron powers. Electrifying fences is definitely a decent winner with its -kb, but the small radius is severely offputting.

    Does anyone have any other recommendations? Should I just take web envelope or spirit shark and let the ones that aren't KBed burn or what? Or should I stick with EF and put some range boosts in it?
  8. I have an earth/fire/levi domi and I can say that, while it isn't essential, it's absolutely one of my favorite powers to use. You can proc a +Rech from Stupefy in it to help get perma dom as well.

    It's a freaking AWESOME looking power that helps out a bit with the holds, and it looks absolutely incredible with earthquake going on. I've had brutes complain that I outsmash them.

  13. Okay, I'm the leader of a VG on Virtue and I'm curious about one thing. With the new expansion pack coming out, there'll be an issue that was met before with CoV-the splitting of VGs as the new expack comes out. Obviously there will be people who want the new content, but at the same time, there will be people who can't either due to lack of money, or time, or just no interest.

    So does anyone know if they've heard of what the devs plan for this? A global VG or something? We've already considered a global channel, but to be quite honest, those almost never work out, especially due to RP purposes.

  15. I was wondering about a good powerset choice with something ice based. So I was curious, how does ice/ice stack up compared to fire/ice? Jack Frost versus the imps? Hell, how is fire/fire?
  16. Well, I usually end up using most of my holds and AOEs in per battle. I may just be doing it wrong, I'm new to domis and still haven't gotten that feel down. Usually a battle will end up with me charging in with stalagmites, then dropping quicksand, volcanic gasses and/or earthquakes. But like against Longbow Wardens? Pretty ineffective it seemed.
  17. ...in control? Or at least, it seems that you have to activate all of your holds just to really have control. I heard that it was supposed to be a solid set for lockdown, but against Longbow for example, I have a lot of trouble. Is there something I'm missing here?

    I'm not really all that familiar with what exactly to do with WP, so that really helped. Didn't think of using Kinetic Combat for example. Thanks a bunch.

  22. When I'm trying to softcap my bane, I'm guessing that I should add in extra defense to account for when cloaking device is not running due to captives? I'm guessing that's what it's for? Or is there something else I don't understand? Thanks.
  23. I've been looking through for something to move on after my dm/shield, and ss/fire has me intrigued. The only question is-is there such a thing as a doable build that doesn't involve completely swarming yourself with purples? I'd like to get to a build with it that would allow me to get to that point. Or I could just farm it with my dm/shield.

    So are there any good temporary SS/fire builds?
  24. I more or less completely forgot about this. I don't traverse the forums much.

    No travel power, because quite honestly in CoV you can get away without it, especially because the build for dm/shield is so tight. You NEED every power from shield except for your tier9 which is meh. With the combat jumping and blessing of the zephyr you get a fantastic ghetto SJ.
