God I hate bubbles
Yeah, it's a pain. I got my Bots/FF to 50 before they did the AoE thing for Pet Buffs. Think of that: 24 buffs at the start of every mish, plus my toggles, solo.
You get used to it. Bubbling a whole team ain't such a big deal for me any more, I can tell ya.
When solo bubble your pets, when on teams bubble your teammates. Granted depending on the team the pet AI may be more reliable.
On teams, do what u want. You are considered the tank of CoV, so if u want to make sure you have your defense, do it. Personally, as a MM, you don't have to buff other people. I put myself to a rule on my forcefield MM's, and the rule is that once i have all my pets (lv. 26), i often will only bubble the two people who i think will benefit from it the most, unless we are facing an AV.
And you think you have it bad now, try getting powerboost from the patron pools, and then trying to remember to keep all of your pets powerboost bubbled (can keep at least 6 perma, with rotation of pb) AND bubble other people. Now that's a pain in the rear. But Soft-capped mercs is nice though. heheh.

Gah, yeah I know what you mean. I set up keybinds on my masterminds to target pets (if I have a power that targets allies). As such targeting them is very convenient. Helps with buffing, healing, or using things like noxious gas.
Then I get on a team and the team demands I use my rather anemic heal on them constantly as the team's 'healer'. Uhm, no. I'm busy enough on large teams keeping my pets alive. I'll heal the team if the following conditions are all met:
1. Pets don't need babysitting currently
2. Team member needs assistance (rez takes top priority though)
3. I think to check team window for their health
4. The team isn't a pack of idiots and morons who think they *need* a healer

Oh yeah, MM/FF is definitely a PAIN.. a CHORE.. however you want to call it.
Ninja/FF is a very strong combo but since I am a "good" team-player, I also want to bubble all the teammates. That's a lot of bubbling! It drives me mad so when I take my Ninja/FF out, I usually solo or duo. I hate big teams with my Ninja/FF.
/FF can be strong but is the most tiresome set.
PS: The Upgrades on all the pets at once has REALLY helped my Ninja/FF!!!!!!!!!
What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.
Fortunately, Bubbles still aren't as tedious as playing Empathy well.
I wouldn't mind seeing the addition of a "duration" enhancement for bubbles similar to the "Hold", "Immobilize", "Intangibility" (Does anyone even use that?), etc. enhancements that increase duration of the effect. They could be used on powers like "Clear Mind" and "Fortitude" as well...
I always thought it was odd that there wasn't a "generic" "duration" enhancer as everything else seems to be so "generic" in aspect.
Bubbles are very powerful and I don't mind taking the time to re-bubble a team.
i havent bought it upon my self to play one all the way yet cuz i like to be in the action and certion AT are real boring and just sit back and watch the team and put a bubble hear heal there.. my thug .dark is very fun i can be lazy with him and go make a sadwich while fighting 4 av\s and sti;l; ;ive or can run like im a blaster/tank/scrappeer/def and never get bored... thats whats nice about this game thiers a AT combo out there for every1 some ppl luv healers cuz they dont like hurting ppl and im more that happy to have a global freind who i know is allways on a healer...so if u dont like the class keep it around dust it off when a team needs it or u neeed somthing that lvl dont get locked into just doing 1 thing. have fun
I think at one time the MM bubbles lasted like 1.5m.
I think they last 4m now and are much easier to play with than constantly recasting.
1 day ill bring my self to finish my bubble mm i started a year ago
Just as well my first MM is a bubbler, I've tried another combination and it felt weird.
Granted, it's Merc/FF, once I've bubbled up I can sit back and join in the hail of firepower.
my first was and is a thug dark..and i luv it ill try another mm after i try a few mor or the vill at...but my real weknes sis blasters i luv them to death

And it's funny that Lightning already feels it's very boring only having to cast every 4 minutes, while I still find it highly irritating I have to cast every 4 minutes.
Yet there's little else they can do except what, force-blast away the occasional guy harassing a blaster? :-/
Still, "irritating to do" is a poor answer to "nothing to do".

I'm suprised no one has mentioned Force bubble. There is nothing worse than having a top-tier power that gets you kicked from teams.
Don't leave it on all the time or have ranged pets and stay behind everyone else. Watch where you are pushing mobs and who you agro with it.

its just like using storm not evey one appritiates ur efforts.
most teams just want a controller to imob then spead out all over the plave and then use a huge aoe that only kills half not waiting for u to push them in to a corner were a single atk could get them all.
I recently teamed with a Defender who was FF/Dark. He ran the big bubble constantly (almost). I almost kicked him a few times, but then he would kick it into gear and totally shut down the enemies by having them falling all over themselves trying not to stand on each other in a corner. Then, next group would be a disaster.
I kept telling him that Force Bubble is fine, but you can't have it on in ALL situations. It was about 40:60 Good to Annoying ratio.
Detention Field is the worst. I have played with people who used it every fight and then acted amazed that we all weren't happy to stand around waiting for it to drop. Force Bubble at least has a use in teams, even if you have to know what you are doing to use it right. Detention Field has about three places where it can be used to any decent effect and none of them involve mission teams.
You're a villain! Since when do villains care about other villains? Thats like asking a Brute to waste his Fury Bar because you're low on endurance.
My 1st and only MM is a Bot/FF. I have no offensive weapons except my bots and the mace I took as a Patron Power. I bubble my team mates WHEN and IF I feel like it. I always run my Dispersion Bubble and I bubble my pets. If my teammates want my protection, they better stay inside my big bubble. Other than that all bets are off. I had a blast playing this toon, but it is a lot more laid back than a lot of players are looking for.
I have Force Bubble but rarely use it. Can't stand Detention Field. Worst power choice ever. If we are fighting a particularly tough Hero, I will bub teammates, but even then, it's at my discretion. Remember, you're a villain, quit playing the hero.
I bubble those *other* villains because their survival (sometimes) means my victory. Or at a quicker finish. Or I am amused. Unless they piss me off. Then I let them talk to my armored gauntlet. :P
53 Bots/FF/Mace Mastermind | 53 NRG/FF/Electricity Defender | 50 Time/Dual Pistols/Soul Defender | 50 Demons/FF/Mace Mastermind | 51 Necro/Dark/Soul Mastermind | 50 Thugs/Time/Mace Mastermind | 50 Ice/Ice/Arctic Tanker | 50 Plant/Rad/Earth Controller | 50 Illusion/Trick Arrow Controller | 50 Gravity/Force Field Controller
Yes, I like Force Fields.
Detention Field can be useful while solo, or in truly dire straights. Otherwise, it's really not worth the trouble.
I have a Bots/FF. I have no problems bubbling both my pets and the team. I usually set my first target in the fight, and let the Bots do their thing. Meanwhile, every other mob or 2, I re-bubble the Bots and team. Sometimes I'll even bubble another MM's Bruiser if their's one on the team. I'll throw out a heal every once in a while if I see a team member who needs it. */FF gives you that flexibility.

You know what they call a villain that doesn't buff other villains when they can?
Kicked off my team.

Thanks for any insight.
Managed to get a necro/bubbles up to about 27, in hopes the extra D could aid them in all their hopeless melee. I don't mind bubbling my pets, that's not the the issue.
But I hate bubbling everyone else on the team every five freakin' minutes. Last time I played her was about 6 months ago. Has this changed?
I'd give anything to get that to a 10 minute recharge. Triple the end just to double the time. :-/ Don't make me have to re-do it every 5 minutes "just to give me something to do besides run around."
