Henchmen too stupid to get out of burning fire

I'm having some problems with my merc/traps mastermind. He's level 40 and it's been sometimes fun and sometimes not. The problem I'm having right now is against Carnies and Malta, specifically the ones that create burn patches. They are burning down my henchmen very quickly because my henchmen apparently have no fear or concern about burning to death in fire. By the time I can issue commands to get them out of the fire, they are nearly all dying or dead.

I am not terribly adept at issuing commands to henchmen. I usually just either tell them to attack something, or use a macro to get them into bodyguard mode. They usually come to me when I tell them bodyguard mode, even if they are already in bodyguard mode they come back to me. I've used the Go To command and Detonator with some success.

Does anyone have a macro that says, "Get out of the fire you morons!"

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Even better try this:

/bind shift+rbutton "petcomall goto"

or

/bind shift+lbutton "petcomall goto"

Hold down shift and then right click(first) or left click(second). The first will give you a targetting circle just like Gypsy's suggestion, you have to then place it and left click. The second will command the pets to go wherever your mouse pointer happened to be when you clicked. The advantage of the first is control, as you know exactly where they will go from the targetting circle; the advantage of the second is speed - one click movement. You can substitue alt or ctrl for shift if you need to make multiple binds like this.

That's odd. My mercs have always scattered when set on fire. But yeah, do what they said.

I've had my pets do some pretty stupid things in fire. Not just scattering, but running to the other end of the level, and basically making me realize that pet stupidity is the cost of being uber.

Lucky that your pets frickin' stay in the fire. Mine enjoy a long, brisk stroll across the map.

Caltrops seem to produce more of a "run around aimlessly (and slowly) for the next 5 minutes" effect rather than the "stand obliviously in fire until you melt" or "run with great speed to the far end of the level and stay there" behavior I see from fire.

First rule of Masterminds is only you are allowed to play with fire. Target those stupid fire using enemies first.
