I cast my vote for Swing!
A little Basie, a little Ellington, some Sinatra...how much more classy could you get?

Reminds me of Bioshock... perhaps in an alternate present in the vein of Brazil, this would be a viable nightclub playlist. Mission Architect is on it's way! -
We need an invention FAQ, pl0x.

That's a computer hang, not a game crash. Sadly I have no help

I grouped with Vortex Beam on Virtual Dreampiper yesterday!

IMO females look great in Golden Age costumes. They're back in fashion at the moment, too, so I'd go with one of those maybe. Then consider doing a secret ID, as these are big with the classic heroes.
Alternatively, come up with a story then make a costume to suit. I'd steer away from a Crey Experiment since it's deep in the realm of cliche by now. Having said all this, cliche is what comics are all about so if you want to.. go for it. -
Off Topic, but don't bother with Triumphant Insult, either - that's broken, too.

One scrapper primary is Martial Arts, that's all. Maybe there are quite a few MA scrappers based around or inspired by Asian culture - maybe Korean or Chinese martial arts
[/ QUOTE ]
That's what I mean... martial arts isn't just weaponless combat, and is certainly not restricted to kicks. Five out of eight of the scrapper primaries are martial arts, with the exceptions being Dark, Fire and Spines. I don't mind this, but it seems that because some of the exotic elemental attacks (energy, earth, ice) aren't available to both tankers AND scrappers, we tend to see people creating characters with costumes in the theme of their power set. i.e. oriental-style scrappers and somewhat more exotic tankers.
This is based on my experiences and might not reflect the view of the majority of people the value of your property may decrease over time your home is a risk if you do not keep up the payments on a mortagage or other loan secured on it please read the label. -
So... when good suggestions get a bunch of /signeds like this, shouldn't there be a sticky ideas list which it could be added to?
Something like : "Ideas the EU players like"? Or "Hay! You devs over there, pay attention to us! HAY WOOOHOOO! CAN YOU HEAR US? HEY!"?

What are the costume stereotypes for the various powersets?
When I see a normal body, a bear chest and pants, I think "Scrapper", because all the scrapper powersets seem to be are martial-arts based.
So, what other stereotypes are there? -
Controllers can't control their pets. Irony upon irony.

Do you think you should get vanguard dayjob badge for entering the foyer of a vanguard building? -then lower level (than 35) people can get the badge?
I mean... they let people who aren't in a supergroup get the monitor duty badge by standing near a portal - isn't this a similar thing? -
Can we use villain maps on blueside and vice versa? THat could help add even more variety.
-
Someone made a mod which did this in WoW, and IIRC it was so popular that it was introduced as a standard feature by the devs.

why would we all stop and turn into full time designers????

In a word: "Badges".

I wonder if the devs will be using Architect? When I listened to the audio file, they were waffling about the exciting prospect of nested events, which I don't think there's much (any?) of in the traditional content. -
You know what...
If you could put something like "LFT" flag on, and the group leaders could put "invite any" flag on, then the game could automatically fill teams, perhaps? -
I know it's already broken, but how about (after fixing it) changing the team search box so we can indicate (via tick boxes, perhaps) whether we're interested in Blinds, Farming, Filling or PLing? It seems these are the common things people put in the comments box, and what the people searching could do to know. It's awkward having to look through everybody one by one to see if they might even accept an invite, or whether they are suitable for your team.
I am always disappointed when I get invited to a team only to find it's a powerlevel or farm group. They clearly haven't read my comment. -
I think a "weakness" element would be great. They did it with Kheldians (the Quantums are their weakness) and it works fine. Heck, I'd go so far as to say it's fun (but I don't have a K).
There are other ways to give players weaknesses, however, like picking one from a list so that it's in keeping with your character, or having your contacts kidnapped/attacked/turned to the dark side (they are pretty much the only "emotional" attachment your character has in the game) - many traditional heroes' weaknesses are the normal people who they love. Perhaps these might be better ways to give player characters a weakness? -

Somebody obviously didn't listen to the audio file on this page : http://www.massively.com/2009/02/26/...ity-of-heroes/
There's a little play button there if you look hard. -
How would this work? Would a Fire/Ice tanker melt himself?
Facetiousness aside, I think you're putting a lot more consideration into the powers than the devs did - hence there's not much organisation. This reminds me of the poorly organised Invention system ... and WW. -
Had this thought myself too the other day so I'm giving this a

Civil services need a huge upgrade, methinks...
Y'know, OT but hey, things Id love to see if CoX ever got an engine update that could handle it;
Realistic traffic and pedestrians.
Cop cars heading to emergencies
Fire Engines/Ambulances, etc.
Y'know, proper city life. Suggested before, I know, so back OT.
More mission variety is good. /Signed there, certainly.

Wouldn't it be good if we could follow cop cars with their sirens blazing, to find we end up at the location of a 'hidden' mission (well, obviously the police know where it is). The police car could appear as a blip on our map that we follow maybe, instead of having a mission marker pop up...
It'd also be good for roleplayers perhaps.. You're stood there talking and a police car goes blazing past.. quick everyone, follow that car! Someone somewhere is in trouble and they need our help...

I love this! Oh look! It's a domestic - what's that ma'am? Your husband is throwing plates around the kitchen and shouting? BLAM! Now he's dead, you'll have no more trouble from him! It's all in a day's work when you're protecting the innocents of Paragon.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well...
This is an idea I've actually discussed with Kallandra.
You hear a siren...this time it's police car followed by an assortment of Swat vans and emergency services.
You follow them.
and get to a spot full of emergency vehicles...swat vans..and cop cars formed in what looks like a rather rough barricade around the area.
Swat team members line the roof tops.....paramedics run around trying to calm and heal anyone that looks like they need it....the fire service boys are over by various fire hydrants trying to make the darn things work.
Put it simply...organized chaos.
Slap bang in the middle of all this going on is the reason why everyone is here, one single generic AV ( choose a villain or hero from any bank mission ) has decided he/she would like to have a little fun.....with who ever comes anywhere near him.
So with the help of the various emergency services and some friends you subdue him and put him back from where ever he busted out from or came from in the first place.
Badges would off course be gained.
Kallandra and myself came up with a few.
Ambulance chaser.
Swat member.
Human barricade.
Negotiator
Too name but a few.

I don't care who's taking credit, but this idea is great!
You can't have Negotiator, though : http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Negotiator -
