illusion controllers
nah you cant control your pets, only mm´s can.
The only thing you can control about your pets is where you create them, and in the middle of the spawn is pretty much where you want them all to be.
Some people take TP Other to position their Phantasm to make best use of his cone attack.
British by act of union, English by grace of God, Northern by pure good fortune!
Just to the far side of the spawn is pretty much where you want them to be, just so any rogue cone attacks don't make it towards the team. (do I win a nitpicking award?)
I've got TP Other with Carni but never bothered using it on the Phanty, you can never tell who he's going to decide to use the cone on anyway really.
I used to do it with a Singy but it's a bit slow and tedious. Useful with a Dark Servant though (for Chill of the Night and the PBAOE heals).

Carni is full of nice tricks. I will try it on my illusion troller, i was enjoying summoning PA in front of me and shouting "Go and get 'em my children" tho.
If the situation allows it i stick phantasm in a roof for hoverbombing.
Only pet-related binds I use on a controller are one to summon a pet (usually the "/" or "*" keys - on my Ill/Empathy, Summon PA is "/" and Speccy is *) and one to select it for buffing purposes (Phantasm is numpad9). I usually use the below setup for tagging teammates, so numpad9 works quite well.
bind numpad1 team_select 1
bind numpad2 team_select 2
bind numpad3 team_select 3
bind numpad4 team_select 4
bind numpad5 team_select 5
bind numpad6 team_select 6
bind numpad7 team_select 7
bind numpad8 team_select 8
bind numpad9 pet_select_name Phantasm
Note that with a bit of practice you can also usually summon PA and Phantasm behind walls, floors or roofs if you have to. I use the "summon PA inside a wall" trick to kill off stuck mobs on "Kill All" missions.

I do that, its the same with any AT, if your attracting the first waves of aggro then direct it away from everything else. Amount of times I've stood one side of the corridor and someones tank was on the other, the other side being just as good so what they do? Pull to me, it could be that they walked over stood next to me and taunted, allo stun grenade.

There are a few other tricks to positioning them after they are summoned. On my Grav troller I'll move towards the mobs slowly ensuring my sing is following then back up past it - it won't move until you increase the distance. I can then attack and when they try to rush me the pet takes the aggro - sending them flying backwards in the case of a sing - works great on those normally hated tunnel maps.
Works best on pets that are primarily ranged so should work well with Illusion
Mind of Gaia lvl 50 Defiant's first Mind/Storm 'troller.
Deadly Doc 50 Dark/Dark Corr
and lots more on Pinnacle,Union and Defiant

I always assumed the Control bit describes what they do with their enemies, not their pets (that's what Masterminds do).
Controllable PAs would be sick.
Phantom tip: Watch which villain your phantoms decoy spawns next to, and take that villain out last, that way you will have the decoy for longer.

You mean the decoy from the Phantasm? This may explain why I only ever see it last a few seconds.

Yea, the decoy spawns in top of the foe, so it's really easy to figure out which baddie to leave to last.

I like this but only for soloing. Given how some "legends" are still jumping on the anchor and killing them first I simply hold no hope of any usefulness of such knowledge teamed but solo, thank you very much.

Do they need binds for their pets
Or any useful binds out there?
