Ditto Martial Arts top DPS, though I don't remember ever hearing that one proposed before. Martial Arts has been at the bottom end of Scrapper primaries since I started paying attention. Not in an unplayable way, but just at the bottom.

Anyway, yeah, Fiery Melee has excellent DPS, arguably the top in most situations. On top of that, it also has excellent burst damage and very good AoE. Fiery Melee is simply excels at damage output. The down side, as Frosticus indicates, is that it has no mitigation, so you'd better get enough out of your secondary to make you happy. It also has no utility powers. Fiery Melee is nothing but damage in large amounts. (Well, and the required level 12 Confront.)
While back in the 5 or 6 slotted damage days it was that good because of the burst crits and the amount of damage they where hitting and you did not worry so much about the perfect attack chains because the damage output was freaking ridiculous
  2. I run fire/sd with aidself and it is a very flexible build I can solo AV's I can do aoe with sc + fsc Love the build

/sd biggest issue is debuff resistance is not as high as /sr it can be gotten to those levels with a really high end recharge build but overall it is great
  3. traps/? defender +defense acid mortar -defense -resistance and -reg and -dmg seeker drone

Plant/kin speed boost -regen effects a heal

Cold because of debuffs like benuff + defense armor

?/thermal troller +resistance all the debuffs + forge

    rad/? defender or ?/rad troller

    Pick any of them

dark/? would work I mean the possibilities are endless and all those sets are effective
  4. Well a tricked out regen with 20+% defense with IO's and do you have tough and resilience stacked that helps and recharge recharge to go with hasten I bet you up your performance by quite a bit. Heck tough + resilience alone made my fire/regen better he sits at 35 though because I got on to other projects

Nightstar I know does she has her own mission at 50 then she appears in the very front of another AV mission at 51. The lvl 51 was a long fight but I took her down yay for fire/sd

Siege - robot . . . mind control doesn't do diddly damage vs robots
    Nightstar - ditto
Tyrant - yeah, no chance of solo'ing him but he went down fast as an AV vs. a full team

All the other Praetorians, I did manage to solo. Got to admit that Diabolique is probably the most annoying one to fight though, what with her "hey I'm losing...zoom zoom" mentality.

[did everybody, then realize I had missed Nightstar during Maria's Arc and had to re-do ShadowHunter, Siege, Chimera, and Dominatrix before Maria would give me Nightstar's individual mission...that was annoying]
Shadow Hunter is a pain in the **** it took me a while as an AV I went thru 2-3 earth embrace cycles before I killed him with no inspiration or temps.

Nightstar is in her own standalone in the story arc fyi
  7. Which flash back missions is she in I can try and run my fire/sd at her I will take a bunch of reds for when I get mad and have to save my keyboard.

I know the stupid wolf hunter I soloed him with no inspiration and it took for ever because he kept healing himself that was an older build with less dps then I have now
  8. I have tried to like brutes and furry it is not hard to build up I just do not enjoy chasing furry. I rather be able to ramp up right away and if I need to take a break cause of real life I can start at full throttle from go.

I have tried many of brutes I get no where quick before I just go back to blue side and make a scrapper

Spines is great AOE with one of the worse single target damage chain of scrappers

Claws is really good ST and decent AOE

Here is an example of switching to Oblireation I lost some endurance but you can gain it back as well etc

I had more slots to play with and only swapped one power melt armor for char with no slots but the default in it I assumed you wanted fireball in the build.

You have extar defense in tough if you switch the aegis out you still be at 45% defense and you can put impervium in for more endurance or some other set. I was also able to add an extra slot in Hasten plus add quite a bit of global recharge. You can play with the IO's and slots and other sets in mids look for positional defense melee, aoe and range the more the better. I see a bunch of things you can do with the flexibility in the build depending on what you want to do.

    Fire/Shield PVP

Ok this is a bad pvp build and a bad pve build

On top of that Shield is a horrible set for pvp

Just a couple things Kentic combat is a waste om shield why are you spending 160million for some of the kentic combat which only give positional defense of 1.88 on shield. This is a typical mistake by people Kinetic combat are great for sets like Invul, WP, because they use type defense shields is a positional defense set. You be better off using Touch of Death, Obliertaion and Makos in your build

you want to softcap at 45 at all 3 position and you will still lag behind a fire/reg in pvp

Why only one recharge in active defense you want two even if you have hasten this is all your mitigation and with the blessing of the zyphers nerf you are wasting slots adding a kb protection.

You need to do a complete rebuild imo

Melt armor is worthless period and if you are using it as a set mule that goes back to your terrible build

Also what pvp are you trying to perform because an arena build is different from, an RV build and it is different from a Sirens Call build yea that all matters as well

Thanks that was what I was worried about when looking at it
  14. Skip parry hurts your damage (this is more an /sr thing)

Yes you can soft cap with out fighting pool but man does it help when you do get hit and easier to softcap and you can steal fit in aidself done it on my katana/sr

Before Ninja run I used swift + quickness + sprint as travel power (so stack ninja run on that) and in missions you can zip around with swift + quickness and be faster than people with sprint on and if you add in the +7.5% speed boost IO's from the gift of the ancients you can be even faster so speed with no endurance burn yea it rocks

So if you do not need a travel power you have options
  15. Has anyone tried this in their attack chain for like DM, MA non weapon sets builds with out hasten

I been looking at this I know it could help some attack chains and make some worse just curios has anyone tried and what the results where

That is where if you farm for them you can have two builds one for this lvl of content and one for exmplar TF runs.

Edit2: And Catwhoorg soloed them long before I ever did.

Edit3: And remember that you will still need to get pads to start them and have 1 of those pads remain in the TF but logged off. If that last pad quits, you're booted from the TF.

Right now my goals are modest. I just want to contribute to any of the teams I find myself on. This isn't an AoE kind of character so semi-fast single target kills and reasonable survivability are all I can ask. I returned in April with one character over thirty and about ten in their teens. I have been playing them all and would like to have this character to provide influence for the others. It isn't a farm build though is it? Maybe I should plan to mass mindless slaughter of Battle Maidens with my new (~lvl-20), up & coming Electric-Shield scrapper?

I don't have specific plans like certain task forces or whatever, I want to get to them all now that I am high enough level to get into them (never could before). I really want to buy some rocket boots for a character, I would like some wings for another. I can't do that without one of my characters in the role of sugardaddy for the others. And my Katana-Fire is my highest level and I really enjoy playing her.
You can pretty easy at the early levels sell a lot of your salvage is worth a lot. Luck Charms will make you a ton of coin there is more free flowing money in this game. I generally do not fund much on my toons until I get to the stuff that cost 8 mill+ per and sometimes I do not even have to then. If you want SO's build out 1-2 acc 3 damage 1 end and a recharge if you go 1 acc in your attacks. 1 end 3 resistance in you armors etc

Blazing aura 2 end 2 acc 2 damage
  19. Well if you want cheap until you build up money which is easy

Slot Multi strike in Blazing, Flashing and Lotus that stacks 1.88 defense to melee and aoe 3 times and they cost maybe 4-6 million for a complete set all ready crafted sometimes you can craft it cheaper than that

Not much you can do with 20 million right up front but bid low and sit on the bids and sometimes you get lucky with some time you can build up a lot of money you can also check the market forum for tips on money making
  20. This is what i am currently looking at it may change depending on if I can change things around I go over my builds 100 of times sometimes and I will find a nugget I missed but as of right now this is what I am looking at

The Hunter guy on the timed Wolf mission because he would heal himself so it was a long drawn out fight that and his defense debuff I eventually took him down

All those where with my fire/sd I took out Dr V back in like i2 with a katana/sr but I had no clue what an AV was when i beat him

If you are running on normal teams or farming then it may be less useful for you

If you are solo tanking a GM (yes I did that to split up Jack of irons) then aidself made a world of difference
