  1. I plan to be there, this sounds like it'll be good fun and I really hope to see multiple teams running as well!

Not to build false expectations at all, but did you see the vague reports from the dinner the other night?
It's just nice to know that it's not just us fans trying to win the game back. Whether or not we're all successful... we'll see... But I'm still not believing that it's done, that's for sure. It ain't over 'till it's over.

Indeed, that post about the dinner plus the video has me right back at fighting spirits that I first started with! I tightened my cape, ironed my costume and standing tall ready to fight! I just wish all my neighbors would come at once so I don't have to keep explaining why I'm in my yard wearing a cape....

Good news everybody! I've been that guy since 1999.
*Opens a can of Slurm* Cheers!
  4. Yes. I wouldn't still be here if I didn't believe that in some way it will.

This community recognizing any Indiana Jones references? Don't think you have any worries there.

As for the blog, this gives me hope. And I hope it does the same to many players who has felt it waning. They, even without being able to say much of anything, has said I think what we needed to hear. We ARE getting through, we ARE making a difference, we NEED to NOT start anything that can look badly on anything we have done so far, and I think most importantly, that we are NOT alone in our fight. So keep up the good fight heroes!
  6. I'll be on my very first character, Heat Guard, in the very first zone I went to after the tutorial, Atlas Park. I will probably be talking on multiple channels that I'm known on. I will say my goodbyes, but they will be in the form of, 'Seeya later'. We are just 'mostly dead' not all the way there yet! If a last second runby rez is ever fitting, it'll be for this game.
My hope may have dimmed here and there, but never disappeared, so I remain hopeful that someday, somehow, I will be flying high in the sky with Heat Guard once again.
  7. Seeya later Zwil, as I'm sure wherever you go you'll have a (maybe not so) small following joining you there. Have fun with the family, and good luck with your new chapter!

So my brother is a *real life, honest to goodness hero.* Damn, that's makin' my chest burst with pride on that. He is, to hear it, highly regarded as a police officer, even by the majority of people who he as to arrest or such, because he treats them well. He's gonna make Sergeant one day, but he's still a beat cop, and freakin' loves it. And is NOT a jerk cop, like some you might hear about.

Anyway, not the point of the post, but I wanted to say that since I was here.

So yesterday was his 5 year old son's birthday. And kiddo got lots of stuff. Lots. 'cause, he's got a cadre of people who love him.

Well, good ol' Unca Mikey got him *the* thing he wanted... Lego Batman 2 for the Wii. I mean, I was throwing a dart when I picked it out, saying "ah, well, they can take it back if they have one, or he didn't want it." Nope, Mikey did good, right then. He's been asking for that for a while, and I inadvertendly hit it outta the park. Woot.

So that was yesterday. Today, I get a text message from my brother. Remember, he works nights... It goes thusly:

Yep. I am unintentionally evil. Muahahaaa!!

I just hadda share that. Huge grin on mah face.

    Mike

/doesn't help the game room where the Wii is is directly above the bedroom he sleeps in... heh.
As an uncle that has done similar things, I give my full approval.
  9. Just wanted to share another memory. Last winter during the event I had to go afk for a few minutes, just left my tank by one of the bridges in Founders Falls. Came back and saw a local message (can't remember who it was from) saying 'found this on the other side, thought it belonged to you!' and he dragged Winter Lord over to where I and he was just pounding on me nearly the whole time I was gone, but my health never really dipped past the 3/4 mark. That was the first time I made a build that was able to withstand an afk attack like that.
  10. I have quite a few best moments, and I may write a few of them later, but the first one I'll share is hitting my 1000 death on my main. For those who play on the Pinn server, you know that I've earned my nickname as 'team vengebait'.

I agree, if he hasn't been told 'go ahead, what does the answers matter now' there may be a reason why we're not being told what will happen in the future. Long as the higherups keep saying hold off for the moment, I'll take it as (small as it may be) a good sign.
  13. Another good Fight Night went down last night! Thanks to all who came out for some good fights. Next week, I'm thinking of maybe moving the party to an arena, maybe meet in Pocket D, so we can do some FFA's with our 50's at full power. Let me know here or on PinnBadges what you think or any ideas.

Heh, sorry. The global is @Heat Guard and thanks again!
  15. Can Dxp work the same time as another event? I want to believe that it shutting down may be a good sign, but the realist in me wonders if maybe it needed to shut down for the next event to start.

See you all in December for the Winter seasonal shenanigans!
Right on Mind! You can find me this winter at the slopes, holding an extra glass for you!
  17. Hi, I would like to have a shot at lot 27 if still available
    And thanks in advanced Organica!
  18. When I log on, I get a deep stab of sadness at what *may* happen (I refuse to believe the end is nigh, we're heroes, a last second success at a long shot is our bread & water). Teams were a bit hard to find a few days after the shoe fell, but I REFUSED to give NCsoft the credit of keeping me from doing what I've been doing for the last 3 years. As I've read on this thread, getting back into the game, back into the community, is probably the best boost to our efforts that we can do.

The Monday after the Vitrue Rally I decided to continue running my weekly PvP event on Pinn, though realistically I wasn't expecting much. But after a while of advertising, we got a good amount of people showing up, including people who never came before. I can only imagine what they were feeling, but me, I kinda teared up a little, (I have allergies, so I say put it down to coincidence....) but I also had a deep sense of pride in the community that allows me to be part of it.

To finish my ramblings, I feel depressed/sad loging on, but once I'm on, the never stay down (regen FTW!) never give up attitude of my heroes fills me with the determination to keep going saving Paragon, and keeping hope for the game.
  19. I've always wanted to get into PnP tabletop games, just got a D&D redbox to start learning how to play, but with a CoH PnP game, that would would absolutely be what i would want to play, I'd love to make my main. *wonder if Vengeance will still be used on me in that version of the game...*
  20. Monday Night Fights ended with a BANG last night! Thanks to all who came out, saw some of the regulars, but more importantly we saw some fresh faces! And tex, as the one with the draw, that was an epic fight, well fought my friend. And just to say, NT1, I'm still laughing from the defeat of my main to you!
  21. It's been stated in other threads that had this subject brought up, but I think it may be good to do it again here, in regards to bringing up lawsuits I really think that may be counterproductive to what we've been trying to do. I understand the anger that you're feeling, believe me I feel the same, but we need NCSoft to play ball with us, as well as potential investors and talks of lawsuits will either just make NCSoft think they made a wise decision or scare off investors. We're still in the saving the game phase, either by reversing the decision or selling it to another company that'll keep the game going, lets just stay focused on that for the moment.
  22. You are right, I'm not awesome. I'm SUPERDUPER awesome!
  23. Deleting any of them sounds crazy to me, since this game isn't going anywhere. You hear that NCSoft? Not. Going. Anywhere.

Tony, I've said it already before, but going to say it again. You are the Hero my heroes look up to.

Hmm, I like the cut of your jib.

Bringing in Stan Lee seems like such an obvious thing to do I can't believe hearing the idea left my dumbfounded for a second.
  25. Stale, I feel I'd have to throw away my Douglas Adams collection now if I DON'T show up.
