Semi-unrelated text from my brother.
Nice. You're a good uncle.
Be well, people of CoH.
Waiting till my nephew and two nieces are a little older (they're 9 months right now) before I pull this one on my brother and his wife.
Things are going to be noisy enough around there. I want to make sure they get used to sleeping regularly again before I subject them to "early morning patter".

As an uncle that has done similar things, I give my full approval.
So my brother used to play, before he got kids and worked night shift as a police officer... at the same time.
Kinda took away his ability to play ArcticFrost, his Ice/Flame blaster... or is that flame/Ice. Whatever. So my brother is a *real life, honest to goodness hero.* Damn, that's makin' my chest burst with pride on that. He is, to hear it, highly regarded as a police officer, even by the majority of people who he as to arrest or such, because he treats them well. He's gonna make Sergeant one day, but he's still a beat cop, and freakin' loves it. And is NOT a jerk cop, like some you might hear about. Anyway, not the point of the post, but I wanted to say that since I was here. So yesterday was his 5 year old son's birthday. And kiddo got lots of stuff. Lots. 'cause, he's got a cadre of people who love him. Well, good ol' Unca Mikey got him *the* thing he wanted... Lego Batman 2 for the Wii. I mean, I was throwing a dart when I picked it out, saying "ah, well, they can take it back if they have one, or he didn't want it." Nope, Mikey did good, right then. He's been asking for that for a while, and I inadvertendly hit it outta the park. Woot. So that was yesterday. Today, I get a text message from my brother. Remember, he works nights... It goes thusly: Yep. I am unintentionally evil. Muahahaaa!! I just hadda share that. Huge grin on mah face. Mike /doesn't help the game room where the Wii is is directly above the bedroom he sleeps in... heh. |
Thanks to everyone that helped make me a welcomed part of the community, and for giving me over 3 years of some of the best gaming I've been able to take part in. May the next game bring many friendships and maybe reconnect to some old CoH friends.
As the father of two young gamers, I can totally relate to your brother. This morning I woke up to find my 5yo playing the iPad, which was recharging in my wife's office, in his room. Sneaky bugger.
I freely admit to only buying toys that made noise for my nephew when he was little. You're welcome big brother!

August 31, 2012. A Day that will Live in Infamy. Or Information. Possibly Influence. Well, Inf, anyway. Thank you, Paragon Studios, for what you did, and the enjoyment and camaraderie you brought.
This is houtex, aka Mike, signing off the forums. G'night all. - 10/26/2012
Well... perhaps I was premature about that whole 'signing off' thing... - 11-9-2012
