I rate Arcanaville even higher at Highly Reliable/Functionally Accurate. While not a dev his posts have been more accurate than theirs, and unlike the devs since he is not an NCSoft employee he has no motivation to disemble.

It still hasn't been denied that I16 is the synchronization patch for Going Rogue.
[/ QUOTE ]
It hasn't?
[/ QUOTE ]
Not when BAB says it.
He may be a good Dev (in fact I know he is) but basically nothing he says in this forum about things happening in the future can ever be completely trusted 100%. He has a bad habit of having "limited" credibility in that area whether on purpose or not. *shrugs*
[/ QUOTE ]
Why bother believing any redname, then? They are all subject to the same marketing filter. Can any of us, with 100% certainty, say what's going to happen in the future about anything? High standards, much? Sheesh.
[/ QUOTE ]
Marketing filters are bad enough. But beyond that the only standard I require from a Dev is that they not joke around with us so much that we never know if they are being serious or not.
I don't consider that too "high" a standard to follow, but that's me. YMMV.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oddly, I never seem to have a problem telling when any dev, let alone BaBs is joking on the boards. Perhaps the problem is not with the messenger, but with the person interpreting it? I don't mean this as a personal attack, Lothic, as you're certainly not the only person who has difficulty discerning BaBs humor. -

Technically, July 31st, 11:58 PM is still in July.
However, I would expect more juicy details by no later than Comi-con.

No later than Comic-Con? Don't you mean this week? Or are you telling us we'll get Going Rogue info this week and I16 info at Comic-Con?
I hope we don't get another week by week info-bit feed up until the week of Comic-Con. Yuck.

I would definitely want to see Architect buildings removed from any zone under level 10. This means Atlas Park, Galaxy City, King's Row, Mercy Island and Port Oaks. People keep citing "But I've done it levelventy billion times!" and conveniently forget that the POINT of this is to keep NEW people from getting sucked into the cycle of powerlevelling to 50. Missing good developer-made content? You betcha! As amazing as it may seem, not everyone is a five-year veteran who's seen everything a zillion times over. Some people, and indeed the people we need to do the most for, are brand new to the game, looking for a cool new game that's worth $15 a month to play. Is anyone here seriously suggesting that the first thing they should be exposed to is a grinding farm to 50? Seriously?
I've said it before and I'll say it again - I don't want to meddle in other people's affairs. You want to farm and grind, go for it. I do NOT, however, want this to be the public face of the game that all new players get to see. I don't want them to think that that's all there is to the game, because there isn't. This is becoming seriously hurtful to the game, and at this point I DO want to meddle in other people's business because this is NOT what new players should be seeing. It cannot be said enough times.
I believe putting an Architect building in EVERY DAMN ZONE was a mistake, specifically since you can't do cross-building arcs anyway. In very much the same way, I believe putting half a dozen Merit Vendors in every zone and at every location one might stop at was a mistake, as well. There's no need for these things to be all over the place and in everybody's face.
Putting the Architect buildings in higher-level zones does nothing to keep the "jaded veterans" from getting to them, as anyone who's been here for a while can get to, say, mid-town Steel Canyon or up to Cap Au Diable. It takes a bit of practice, but that's what you get by playing the game a lot. What you accomplish, however, is keeping the broadcast spam and the constant invitations to "AE Farms" out of the way of new players until they've gotten at least SOME feel for the game.
Let 50s farm all they want. Let 50-month vets powerlevel their alts to their hearts' content. But keep them AWAY from new players to the game.

Just wanted to thank the devs for the dom buffs.
I have a 50 permahasten, permadom Grav/Energy (with actually good powers and ones slotted for use and not for hasten), a non-perma 50 Fire/Fire, and a lowbie Earth/Thorns dominator.
They all feel better with the buffs. I am glad that they were received and appreciate the dom revamp.
Thank you Castle and any others who worked on it. It is very much appreciated.
[/ QUOTE ]
Im sorry to say but I personally hate the "buffs." I played my perma mind/electric after the "buffs" were released, and without the damage boost from domination being up, i do far less damage than I would have pre i15. Im not sure about the other sets, but electric assault definatly got the shaft, and im considering stripping her IOs and rolling a /energy dom
[/ QUOTE ]
You don't do more damage in domination now, so your experience is defined by your expectations, not reality. -

Dominator's got a pvp only damage buff back in one issue or another. It was definitely over 2 years ago. I looked for the patch notes regarding the difference in damage in pvp vs pve today and the search doesnt go back that far. Before anyone starts crying"bug" please do remeber the extra damge in pvp was added intentionally. That the dev's forgot they implemented that isnt a "bug".It's an understandable oversite and will be corrected.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ya it kind of bothered me that Sunstorm called it a bug as well. They sure love to label things as bugs and exploits even though it was WAI just a few days ago.
It's an oversight that they forgot to adjust for during the dom revamp, there is no bugged code or bugged powers everything is working exactly as designed and implemented.
[/ QUOTE ]
The "bug" is the bonus not being removed before these changes went live. Those responsible have been beaten about the head and shoulders with a wet noodle, repeatedly. Not that that will prevent the same sort of thing from happening in the future, but hey, it was fun!

Just did [u]the 5th Strike Force[u] on Live.
The Axis America missing rant still applies.
This time Reichsman was nearly unbeatable. With three MMs on the team and their gimmick bugged and doing nothing, we couldn't break the uber-unstoppable and couldn't do enough damage in between the unstoppables. It seems almost as if his regen was upped from Test, or, this team had a whole lot less dps then my previous team.
Anyway, the gimmicks finally did him in: 3 Shivans and the trio of Warburg Missiles.
Still needs fixing and tweaking. I'd encourage people to do it for datamining and testing purposes. If you want to do it as a done and completed Strike Force... don't just yet. It's not finished.
[/ QUOTE ]
I really hope that Shivs/nukes does not become the "standard & accepted" way of completing the SF/TF. I never tend to feel a sense of satisfaction when I'm on a team that uses those tactics. -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
This SF is not easy as is. It's not even that it's hard. Once you IO out a Brute, nothing is very challenging anymore, so I welcome an actual challenge. The problem is it isn't difficult, it's just tedious and very long. Button mashing my attack chain over and over for almost 45 minutes isn't fun IMO.
Just disappointed. The TF/SF is really the only thing issue 15 has besides AE tweaks and fixes. So for someone like myslef who doesn't care for AE and does alot of TF/SF, it a bit aggrevating to find out I hate the new SF.
[/ QUOTE ]
This. For some reason my team could not drop Reichsman. We had all of the temp powers, but could not get him below half health. He would phase, and there was nothing we could do about it.
We had two brutes, a corr, a mm, 2 dom, and 2 stalkers.
I went afk with Reichsmann on me so I could look on the boards to see if he was bugged or something. Of course I came back to full health.
Oh, and JDouble, there is one thing other than the SF that I like.
They fixed the alakazamreact emote.
Thats the other thing that this issue had for me.
[/ QUOTE ]
One Corr w/o multiple VEATs is not what I'd call a good team suited to taking on a new SF, unless most of the players are very good and already know what the SF is all about. -
[ QUOTE ]
I don't care what anyone says. Escorts and pets showing up on the map ALONE makes this issue worth it for me. Ironically, I didn't see that in the patch notes.

I was thinking when a hero or villain draws out his/her sword or gun where does it come from??? I was wondering why dont they have a holster or something to put there weapons into and so its visible. there can be different holster costume parts and ect. if you don't like the holster idea please think about making weapons visible on either the characters back or waist (should have choice based on player).
Think about this!!

Hammer space.

I think this "hammer space" is the biggest cop-out ever... not showing ur weopon is retarded lol.
First post after redname...nd if its so hard to get a weapon holster or whatever y not just make a sheath or a quiver as a costume piece for the waist?

[ QUOTE ]
Back Alley Brawler had already made a post about this, stating that is was possible, and doable, that it would only take a minimal effort on their part to do.
My question is why wasn't this done? Granite is so bland, I look exactly the same as the other 6 stone brutes when I'm chilling around the AE water cooler. It would definitely benefit from sprucing up.
[/ QUOTE ]
First off, I don't recall ever saying this...and I seriously doubt I would say anything like 'minimal effort'.
Having things like wings or auras carry over into Granite Armor is possible, much in the same way that seeing mankind one day walk on the surface of Mars is possible. However, as I mentioned in the response to your PM, it's not currently supported.
We do support persisting custom weapons--which are as much a costume piece as wings and auras--into Granite Armor mainly because we kind of had to. But that is a hardcoded exception. I don't know if the same kind of exception could be made for Wings and Auras (it seems to me that it could) but I don't know that for a fact and I don't know what the ramifications of doing so would be.
As others have pointed out, turning on Granite Armor actually functions by changing your entire costume into the 'costume' of an NPC. That is an attribute of the power itself, even outside of the scripts associated with powers that define animations or visual effects. Granite Armor, Dwarf Form, and Nova form are pretty unique in this regard.
[/ QUOTE ]
There was a looooooong discussion about this (auras in granite specifically) a while back (1.5yrs IIRC). The conclusion was that if it would be made possible for auras to carry over into granite, then there should be an option to allow or disallow (show/not show) it, because some people didn't want it. Changing costumes to a costume slot w/o an aura was deemed an unreasonable hardship by some.
Personally, I would like to see auras for granite, but not wings. But that's for purely personal aesthetic reasons. I can't think of a single wing-set that I think would look good with granite. I imagine the only solution that would please everyone would be to allow it, but have a character-based on/off switch for both wings and auras. That way, there should be no reason for whining on either side.
Of course, that doesn't mean that somebody won't. -

Since changing you colors will be -20% damage how many of the non-carebears will actually do this?
[/ QUOTE ]
That 20% is a maximum value. Remember, it scales depending on how far you deviate from the correct color.
[/ QUOTE ]
You are misleading them with this statement, you forgot to tell them the correct color is NOT the base one all start with and they have to guess what the correct color is. Imagine my surprise while playing mega-closed-beta and find that the "correct color" for dark melee was bright pink.

Actually the correct color was dark red, but diminishing returns reduced it to pink.
