Quote:That's exactly what I did with my Tanker, who is currently a Hero. Picked up Soul Mastery while I was over there.Okay, so if I wanted invader instead of TF commander, I'd have to go full villain to get it. Bummer.
I don't see why it's a problem that you have to completely change your Alignment to do this? -
This may seem like an odd bit of advice, but if you want AoE from your epic set, you're much better off with Tanker than Scrapper.

I'm afraid all 11 of my characters are on Triumph. And 10 of them are level 50! (-:

I'd like to see "Most streak breakers with a 95% hit chance" I'd win out every time.

Er, to clarify, this isn't a "teaming versus solo" thing. This is a "get help for hard stuff" thing. I mean, if your car breaks down on the interstate in the middle of the dessert...
The stress/phobia thing can be overcome, and I wouldn't say that it gives reason to bark at the devs for making content that can't be easily soloed.
This largely depends on whom you play with. Play on Triumph and you can team with me and friends. It's a non-stop stream of witty banter, uninspired yet hilarious obvservations, and glorious faceplanting that still somehow results in us coming out on top. -
You know, Lord Recluse has always been pretty tough to solo. And Widdershins on my Elec/Pain Corruptor? Yeah, can't be done. I don't think I've ever soloed Nosferatu, except maybe with my Peacebringer running Light Form. Envoy of Shadow took more Inspirations than you can shake Nurse Francine at.
My response in these situations, at least from my perspective, was quite reasonable: I acknowledged that some foes or missions are too difficult to solo, so I asked for help. Apparently what I was supposed to do was come to the forums and complain about how the entire game isn't easy for all my characters... or something?
Look, I know people like to be able to accomplish things on their own, but let's think about this realistically for a moment. Some enemies are, by design, so hard that you can't take them down by yourself, and no matter what server you play on, there are always hundreds of other players online who can help you...
I mean, not to put two and two together or anything, but doesn't it seem a bit unreasonable to refuse to ask for help?
Yeah, Trapdoor's kinda rough. As is fighting Holtz and the Honoree at once with all those Rikti coming out of the portals. And the Minotaur at the end, what with that Endurance debuff it has. So if you can't do it alone, is it really something the devs have done wrong and they are for some reason at fault for making a terrible game? Be honest, now: is it?
Where does this idea come from, that every mission must be soloable with all characters? To me, that's the unreasonable part in all of this. There's no sense in spurning all the other players in the game with you when you find yourself up against something that you can't overcome all alone. Doing that in real life is a major disservice to oneself; I don't see why it should be expected to be any different in this game.
It's okay to ask for help, it really is. The game was designed with the specific purpose of allowing players to work together, so I would hope that we as players can recognize that as a core feature of the game and make use of it when appropriate. I really don't think we're entitled to talk down to the devs just because they do something differently than we would have. -
I say go with Fire Blast because there are too many Demon Summoning Masterminds and we need somthing to balance them out.

You know, when I ran Tin Mage we had, what, 30 or some defeats namely because of the ambushes in the first mission where people failed to realize that only one person can click any given glowy?
I've seen lots of reports of people dying a LOT on this Task Force, but for the life of me I can't figure out why. Sure it's a lot of +4s, but unless you're a sloppy, haphazarded build running on DOs and six-slotting your Inherent Powers, you're not going to be terribly lacking in the combat department. -
Quote:Correct. Sentinel will automatically assign slots to powers in sequence since that information is not stored by the game.I'm pretty sure it doesn't do the slotting order. AFAIK there is no record in game of when you placed a slot, hence all slots being active when you exemplar. If you check Mids you'll find an exported build will just show the slots, numbered in order from the first power.
A bug in 0.9.2 is preventing Inherent Fitness from actually being recorded in the build, which means that some Enhancement slots might go missing. When Sentinel tries to assign levels, it can get caught up and run out of spots to put them because the Fitness powers aren't there. This is causing a crash and will be fixed in 0.9.3.
That was my fault. I accidentally uploaded a bad version number in the manifest file for about a minute or so after Tuesday's patch. Try deleting manifest.dat and restart Sentinel. -
Snap, smooth going for like a week and a half and just got logged out. Guess they didn't fix it after all. )-:

Quote:Dual Pistols has pretty sizable Toxic damage.I'm thinking it may be toxic but we don't get primarily toxic powersets (Our only toxic damage is in Spines, Thorns, Widows and Demons)
Quote:So I guess the next up are Psionics and Fire... Psionics I think are only resisted by Arachnos and Fire I think is just CoT Behemoths? Though Fire Melee also does some lethal damage (Due to the swords)
Quote:Anyone know the least resisted damage type and what groups resist it? If I know that I'd be able to narrow down the powersets I can use for a new alt (Probably a fire blaster) or I'll get back on an old one (Mind/Psi dom, that I stopped playing because I felt useless in the team I was on) -
Solo a zone event to crash the server by making it try to divide by zero. That'll show 'em.

"Join me now, or you will suffer the same fate that awaits all who defy me. I, Lord Recluse, shall cover this world in darkness. The Heroes are doomed!"

It used to be a much grander island, too, before a volcano erupted. What we currently know as Grandville, Port Oakes/Cap au Diable and Bloody Bay all used to be part of the same island.
And yeah, it's not like Lord Recluse picked a spot in the open ocean and decided to construct an archipelago there. The Rogue Isles considerably predate the founding of Arachnos. -
Personally, I always thought of the temporally-accelerated missions as being in real-time. That is to say, a full day takes only 30 minutes. When not in those missions, I suspend reality and the 30-minute day cycle in the game is just artistic flair.

I need a global handle to send my millions to. Could someone post it for me? Make sure you post the right one and not your own, 'cause I don't want my millions to go to a less noble cause!

Neither have I, but that Corruptor who had my Brute on follow with Repulsion Field running got a stern warning...
... And that Assault Rifle Blaster who couldn't resist knocking things off of my Tanker's Ice Patch and out of Oppressive Gloom and Dark Regeneration range...
... or all those people who kept using Awakens right before I rezzed them...
Makes me wanna wait for them to use Stone Armor so I can plop Bonfire down right on top of them.

Noxious Gas stacks with Envenom and Weaken too, which makes Poison one of the strongest debuff sets in the game.

The screenshot I posted was from an ordinary Borea mission in Rikti War Zone. We weren't running a Task Force. (-:

The Random Number God, who chooses those he adores and those he despises, has smiled upon me today with a blessing. He bestowed on me two Incarnate Shards, with not so much time between them that the "Incarnate Shard Bonded" message from the first could tarry away before the second one was placed in the queue. For these Shards were not merely close together, but came from consecutive enemies.

If this is the intent, it should have that orange text that says "this mission could be tough" like the EB/AV missions do. I'm all for missions that are hard to solo, even missions that are impossible to solo, as long as the author indicates that you're not intended to solo it.
