Quote:What? Thursday is weekly maintenance day, and has been ever since they made it weekly rather than twice weekly. It's in the afternoon, here, so I notice it fairly often. The servers are usually down for a while, even if not the full two hours, on exactly the time that it says in the FAQ.Also, yes Tuesdays tend to be patch days. My point was that "if they take the servers down on Thursday, it is almost always for a patch, rarely ever just maintenance".

Quote:This. Also, any dialogue can really start to grate if it's on contacts who get visited a lot, like WW employees, for example. I'm playing truant on another game right now, and I'm starting to want to punch the Randomly Australian Trader who keeps telling me about his adventuring days. Shut up! Shut up, shut up, shut up!As for vocals? Dear god, no. Given the standard of vocal artists these days apparently, you'd need the budget of Bethesda/Skyrim to pull off something that didn't totally suck. And even then they had repeats and none of them could put on other accents worth a damn.
That said, if a lot of people wanted voiceovers, then sure, so long as there's an off switch in the options. -
It's been happening ever since Praetoria was first released. There's something about those stairs and slopes that causes the already fairly flaky NPC pathing to fail completely.

At least it makes the slot nice and quick to unlock.

I wonder if people's perspectives get skewed by playstyle, too. If you're the kind of player who scorches up through the levels on new characters, sets them out, then fairly quickly stops playing them and moves on, then you have a much closer ratio of inf spent:inf gained when you compare selling and buying on that alt. On the other if, like me, you mostly play the same handful of characters for years and very rarely respec, then the ratio is vastly weighted in favour of the amount made from selling.

You should probably get yourself a copy of Mids Hero Designer. That will let you try out builds and get an idea of what performance gains you can make without having to mess with your in-game builds.
(I didn't see a link posted yet, sorry if I missed it.)
Also, don't forget your second build. Once you've come up with an IO build you like, you can start working on it in your second build slot, so you can be patient about acquiring the IOs without leaving you with half a build. -
Possibly, it isn't 'silent acceptance', but more that most people don't actually have these problems when they play.

Thank you to everyone both for the badges and for the warm welcome. We have had successful MoKeyes runs on Defiant, but I have a magical knack of missing them. I'm sure that even if the beam hadn't stopped working, then we would've got Avoids The Green Stuff and Loves A Challenge -- it was so smooth, it made me wonder why it's seemed so difficult over the past months. :-)
Thanks, again! -
I've just done the transfer, and parked the character (Ellie Mintal) in Pocket D. See you later!
-
I'd love to reserve a place, if I could. I promise I've done lots of Keyes runs before! I'll need to transfer my badge character over from Defiant, though.
Please would you let me know if there's still space, before I make the transfer? -

Quote:At the moment, there is no randomness element to the Freebie Friday. The devs pick a single item, then everyone gets the same thing. Given that, it's fairly obvious that we're going to be getting consumable items unless and until it becomes possible to give different accounts different items based on their current unlocks. How about something like that Firefighter hat? Or a weapon skin? Or an emote? Something tangible.
If they gave out an emote, then all the people who've already unlocked it would get nothing. Or, actually, given the terrible market interface, they would add the hat to their cart and then have the transaction fail at the checkout with the usual unhelpful message. Some people wasting their time on a trip to the market only to get nothing at all is worse marketing than everyone getting a usable consumable item. -

I can't help with the non-responsive NPC, but to leave the flashback arc all you have to do is open the teaming window and click the quit TF button.

Quote:Some of the first/second line support staff are not always as helpful as they could be. The good news is, all you need to do is ask politely for the issue to be escalated to a more senior GM. That's always worked out well for me -- either I've had the problem fixed, or at least I've got a sensible explanation of why it can't be.Y'know, at first I thought the same thing. Except that, when I asked the question for the second time (in the 4th e-mail), they responded with an exact copy-pasta of their previous reply. I thought that was kinda rude (and yes, it was the same person who did it). So, it's been 24 hrs since I sent them 2 more notes on the question.... That tells me that someone is intentionally shelving my ticket.

I'm sorry to have to add another vote, here, but as werewolves go that is pretty cutesy. It doesn't help that the way he's posed made it look at first glance like he's carrying an angry plushie purse.

Quote:Does it have to imply that, though? Unless you think that's implied in any pairing, I guess -- I know some fandoms have a lot of the 'One True Pairing' type of shipping. Generally, though, I don't think it's the conclusion I'd reach. (I'd probably assume that someone reeeeeeeally liked GG :-)It wouldn't be such a bad ship if it weren't for the implied narcissism. I mean. GG, wouldn't you find the egotism implied in say a GG/praetoria GG slash picture of fic a bit unsettling? That people are implying you would believe the only one attractive enough for you is yourself or some doppelganger?

Quote:We've have OEM versions of Windows on virtually very PC we've ever owned, since Archie built our first one back in 1993. It has never, not once, been a problem.Sorry but no. I'm not wasting time calling anyone.
And I've also seen bad things on NewEgg about the OEM/System Builder versions (which are technically for those building systems for resale, not personal use).
Not willing to risk it. Nor am I willing to risk being told, "No.". -

I should think that new players would not be spending their time pointing out EULA violations and laughing in people's faces for getting their toons genericed. And if they were, they're probably also the type of people who'd enjoy the angry response.
As for the legal side, the EULA already states that accounts can be banned for IP violations. One presumes that the Paragon lawyers are satisfied with the current policies enforced by GMs. -

Also, if you're blueside, you can use a base teleporter to get to the Echo of Galaxy City. Then use the train to exit the zone, which will have an option to go to Ouro.

No, but there is a 'g' in whinge. Stop whinging about it.
What, NEVER? Never, never, ever? -
