I won't be colouring anything, because some killjoy git decided that Kheldians aren't allowed to colour their powers for no sensible reason whatsoever.
[/ QUOTE ]
Colour-changing Kheldians would be great, and better still if the forms could be coloured to match.
But what I'd really like to be able to do is change the power sound effects. It's difficult to feel like a cool alien when firing off a power sounds like the character's knicker elastic snapped. -
Oh, I'm so happy you're doing it again tomorrow! My mum and dad were staying the night today, so I couldn't just clear off upstairs to kill Rikti :-)

No one plays CoX so they can enjoy killing mobs.

Dude, that's *absolutely* the fun part for me. That's why I love zombie and rikti invasions, and TFs, and fire/kin corruptor teaming. I have a couple of toons tricked out with shiny purple sets, but only to show them how much I love them -- and the inf for those came from an ebil marketeer, anyway. Mostly, it's just happy fun carnage all the way, and plain IOs or cheap sets are perfectly good for that! -

They do? Funny, mine didn't. Just the same 5 as everyone else.
[/ QUOTE ]
Supposedly, according to the wiki, if you claim all the possible slots in the game for a VEAT, you end up with 6, but can only see 5 of them via the costume selector and so can't edit the 6th at the Facemaker. You can get to it with /cc 5, though. -

Very annoying, given that you can't repick patron and so you need to see the info about the patron pools to make a decision with lasting effects.
[/ QUOTE ]
Since they included the ability to change Patron Pool in respecing, you also get to choose from all four PP when you complete the Patron arc. It rather confused me when I did a Patron arc for the first time. -
Almost certainly can't do Saturday, sadly, but good luck.

It collides with the RWZ raids, can we do it after that?
[/ QUOTE ]
Also with my regular villain team.
Maybe it would be better to pick two different time slots, on two different days of the week, so that people have a better chance of making it to at least one of them? -
RIKTI RAGE! Yay! I'll be there :-)
And c'mon, devs. Give us a nice shiny badge and a couple of merits for taking down a dropship. They're given for the Arachnos flyer, after all. -

Or just fight away from the enemy base. Doesn't say a lot about the IQ of the people he was fighting tbh.

According to someone on the LJ CoH community, he's being a little economical with the truth. He did get killed, at lot, and he left Champion after the PVPers got together and continually targetted his character. -
I'm looking to change ISP at the moment, too, but I'm stuck on an exchange with no LLU, and no prospect of it in the near future, either :-(
Mind you, I'm only looking for someone less dire than Demon, so I have a pretty low bar. -
Hey guys! Archie and I will be along just as soon as the Federer/Roddick game finishes at Wimbledon!
-
There's an XP bonus for teaming (up to 2.5x XP for 8-person teams), so if you want to level faster teaming is definitely the way to go.
This is more personal taste, but I've found I generally enjoyed the Founders' Falls stories more than the Brickstown ones. Possibly this is just because FF is prettier to run around. :-) -
Oops, yes, of course! Pretend that 9 was the 6 I meant it to be :-)
-
The vet rewards are perks for the long-standing customers whose subs pay the devs' wages. If you don't keep paying the subs, you can't reasonably expect to get the rewards.
On the plus side, the time used to calculate the rewards is cumulative. If you sub for three months, stop subbing for nine, then sub for three more, at the end of that time (12 months total) you will get the sixth month vet reward. So if you keep subbing for the occasional period of time, you will eventually get the eighteen month reward -- just, obviously, more slowly than if you had a continuous subscription. -
That's dated last Tuesday, though. Surely we would've had the patch applied during the normal Friday maintainance?
ETA: Also, checking the US forums, the US servers are down for maintainance at the moment, too. -

World PvP server.
[/ QUOTE ]
Be honest.. would you let people do roleplay or chat without blasting them? Would you respect that other people are not always into fighting/pvp?
[/ QUOTE ]
I might be misunderstanding, but wouldn't the point of a World PVP Server be exactly that the only people on it wwould be people who wanted world PVP, and people who didn't could stick to all the other servers? -
Base NPCs would be awesome. Especially if you could script dialogue for them.

My apologies. I didn't mean to offend. I've deleted the post.

My favourite ever line was from an NPC near a MA building not very long after MA came out, which went something like: "And that was how I got my furry Positron arc banned for the third time."
I did such a double-take. I need to go loiter around an MA building for a while and see if I can get the exact quote. -
:-(
Sad to say, Archie and I won't be able to make it tomorrow. I've won some kind of award at college, and have to go to the ceremony to pick it up. Possibly 'Most Unlikely Person To Do A Beauty Therapy NVQ In The College This Year', or something like that :-) -
That's the nice thing about marketeering v. gaining inf by farming -- it really requires very little actual on-line time to make a lot of inf. Most of the time is taken up by bidding for recipes and selling IOs, which happens quite happily without any attention. If you have the time to PVP (which presumably you do, or there's *really* no point in buying the recipes) then you have the time to make the inf back on the market, too.
-
First of all, your example *is* overexaggerated, to the point of ridiculousness. Firstly, there are no IOs which make that much difference to a character, and secondly it's perfectly possible to IO out a character quite respectably for the amounts of inf anyone can make. I do it regularly.
And it is pretty easy to make money in the game. F'rex, I started a new character villainside. I couldn't help him out, as both I and my duo partner were new redside. By the time I got him up to mid levels, he had well over 50 million inf. Not by serious marketeering or especially lucky drops, but by crafting and selling the drops I got, and by getting a handful of the crafting badges and spending a few minutes every day crafting and selling common IOs. It isn't hard, and it certainly isn't dependent on being a vet. Even the odd very shiny IO is pretty easy to get. When I wanted a +stealth IO (which are rarer than rocking-hore droppings redside - they're aren't just expensive, they're flat-out unavailable) I saved up merits and bought one.
If you want to help new player get enough inf for shiny things, point them towards the market and give them a few tips.
And, WHEEEEEEEEEE! FLYIIIIIIIING! :-) -
[ QUOTE ]
i also feel that for the game to grow we *need* new players and should do everything we can to help them decide to stay beyond the 30 day trial. I dont think making them feel inferior to every other equal level alt it the optimum way to do that.
[/ QUOTE ]
As someone who was a new player not that long ago, I didn't feel inferior at all, not for a moment. For one thing, I didn't know I was supposed to! I didn't even know vets had that stuff. If another character pulled out a Nemesis staff, I had no idea it was a vet power. If I thought anything at all, it was probably more along the lines of, ooh, that looks kind of stupid, I'm glad I didn't pick that powerset.
The thing about picking up a new game is that you don't need extra powers etc to make it fun. They're all extra powers already! Every new zone is an adventure. Everything around you is fresh and shiny, and every new power is exciting. Finding a Luck charm and realising it goes for tens of thousands? Fab! Finding a recipe which goes for MILLIONS? Amazing! Getting Hover at lvl 6 is just BRILLIANT! Fly at 14? OH, MY GOD! I CAN FLY! WHEEEEEEEEEE!
Vets are the ones who need the extra shinies to keep them interested in the game, poor things ;-) -
[ QUOTE ]
Certainly not. Not only because thats a ridiculous amount of Influence, but more that the state of Post-I13 PvP is in such flux that there is no guarantee that the desired effect you are after will not be nerfed a couple of months later.
[/ QUOTE ]
OTOH, if you're a PVPer and marketeer, in those couple of months you can have made back the 600million a few times over, and enjoyed the use of the IO in the meantime.
