You get reward the time you pay for even if you don't play it or not. It doesn't work on how long you have the account for, only how much you pay. SO from what i can gather you've paid for anything between 3-5 months and should be due your new award soon. 
check your account status for info it does say there when its due
I recently got my 48 months, only because i canceled my sub once in a while, else i would have gone over 50 months already. My other account i had off for longer, wich still is within the 45th month.
Indeed in your masteraccount you can see when u get your next veteran reward.
(only downside is EU and US accounts, although i played loyaly since launch, my US account only has 9months vet, wich is imho lame - if we would ever merge).

Hold on... you have paid for 3 months of play (or had time cards with the game purchase) and want the vet rewards up to a year because you first played a year ago? No, I don't think so.
You haven't played the game for a year if you have only had an active account for 3 months, you can only have played for 3 months.
The vet rewards are perks for the long-standing customers whose subs pay the devs' wages. If you don't keep paying the subs, you can't reasonably expect to get the rewards.
On the plus side, the time used to calculate the rewards is cumulative. If you sub for three months, stop subbing for nine, then sub for three more, at the end of that time (12 months total) you will get the sixth month vet reward. So if you keep subbing for the occasional period of time, you will eventually get the eighteen month reward -- just, obviously, more slowly than if you had a continuous subscription.

Actually, I think you may have made a slight error there, Grouchy.
If you sub for 3 months, stop for 9 months then sub for 3 more it's 15 months total that has elapsed (3+9+3).
So you'd get the 6 month reward at the end of the 15th month after you started.

Can't help thinking this isn't very fair. Shouldn't you be rewarded for the months you play the game no matter if you play 6 month in a row or if you spread it out over a month.
With my unstable economy (I'm sick and have been on sick leave for 5 years now and will probably never be able to work again) I'll probably never get pass the three month reward to get the other ones I want :-(
If this system was fair I would either just have gotten the angelic and demon wings by now or at least be about a month away from getting them...But as they have arranged this reward I'll never get them :-(

The easiest way to work it, is that you get your vet rewards for paying each month, regardless of whether you play. If it was done solely on time you've played, unless you areconstantly logged in for 5 years, nobody would ever make it and it would make vet rewards pretty redundant.
Personally i see the rewards as a thank you for paying us. On the flip side, it could also mean that someone who is a 5 year vet, doesn't always know the answers. 
OTOH You should, IMO, get rewards for paid time, even if you haven't played all of that time yet. So if you pay for six months at a time, you should get the vet rewards straight away rather after 3/6 months.
After all its not like they'll refund you your sub.
