Me, too. I might be hidden, but I'm always watching the global channels for trials/TFs/tips teams etc. I just like to do my interacting with other people on my own terms, that's all.

Quote:It looks like you can still pick up GR from Steam.Anyway, when do we get this stuff back? The day they removed it (actualy it was a day to early), i ran into the problem my 4th account doesnt have GR thus cant do alligment mission.
The popup still directs you to the store, yet the product is gone. I believe all VIP will get GR for free, but im not really happy waiting days maybe weeks to continue my character. -

Your example is broken and potentially slightly confusing, in that if there are 22 outstanding bids there's no way to list something for 1 and have it not sell instantly.

Quote:Ooh, nifty. I didn't know about that page on the Wiki.Looks like 74 recipes, maybe 9 are very good including one of the big 3 [miracle.]
Quote:I'd say level em to 17, get enough for 2 gold recipes, and roll random golds, but I have a known bias (see: Midlevel Crisis.)
Don't worry about it. You've talked me into the Gold rolls, anyway. I'll report back with the results later. -
So, in a fit of badging enthusiasm, I bought one of the cheap game accounts and dual-boxed my way to the 400 rep PVP badge. This has left me with four characters of levels 16 or 17, each with around 6000 AE tickets in their pockets. I planned to delete the characters, but then thought I might as well spend the tickets, first.
Obviously, they have pretty limited options. What would be the best use of their tickets? Would there be any advantage to levelling them up a little higher to get access to different level bands for recipe rolls? Or should I just buy a bunch of rare salvage and call it a day? -
AFAIK, the positive enemy XP modifiers do not apply to AE defeats, while the negative ones do. At least, that was the case when Archie was developing Dropstats, and I was testing enemy inf drops for him, so in autumn 2009. (Wow, time flies.) Might be worth checking again, but it was certainly true back then.

Quote:So Positron made a mistake, Positron didn't express what he meant entirely clearly, or the exact content that would be available to Premium subscribers was changed after he made the comment.Go back. READ what he said. You "will ALWAYS have access to it and its features."
We don't have access to Incarnates. The question being asked was about Incarnates, and nothing else.
If you don't see how that is a contradiction of current facts, well... the imperfection is yours.
Mistakes happen and things change. Some people are acting like Positron has personally jilted them at the altar over this. And yet, people also complain that the devs don't talk to the players enough and that marketing exert too much control over dev interaction. Gosh, I can't imagine why that might be. -

I'm curious -- what do you think is a fair price to charge for CoH? I mean, for access to the gamer servers, for the GMs and customer support, for the continuing development of the game by the studio, etc? I assume you agree that we can't ask them all to work for free, so what do you think would be reasonable?
-
This is just a total 'make it so' idea. I love DA -- I occasionally take a level 50 character in there and zoom around just freeing ghosts from the BP ceremonies, and I think it's a crying shame that there isn't a good, solid plot arc to be found there. The phasing tech would be the perfect solution to the problem of how to finish the arc.

Quote:You really should come play on Defiant. I only say that because it's the only server I play on and I can guarantee its friendliness. No one will jeer at you for running into a wall. I run into walls and get stuck in bits of geometry all the time, and as far as I can tell, no one has ever even noticed.Pancake, this game is supposed to be fun. It is not fun to be jeered at because you run into a wall and thus lose the team.
Once Freedom is up and running, use a free transfer to bring a character over to Defiant, and try a few TFs :-)
ETA: I finally clicked on the female barbarian picture. Ahahahaa! Seriously? Well, I guess it'll come in useful for Christmas costume competitions. -
I enjoy Keyes just fine the way it is. It definitely takes longer to get the hang of than the other trials, and there's quite a lot to keep an eye on in the final fight, but I like to have something different to do. It's run reasonably often on Defiant.

If I want something really relaxing, I take my claws/elec scrapper into a particular AE mission. It's a farm map, with huge ambush waves of stompy robots, and I sit in the middle of them and Followup/Spin and nom insps as they rain down. I find it very calming. For a while, dealing with the tickets was a pain, but now I just leave the character ticket capped and don't worry about them.
-
Although you are a free player, and the game is now called CoH: Freedom, you do not actually have to make your characters on the Freedom server.

I'm fine with the untyped/irresistible damage.
If I'm playing my blaster, I stock up on greens, try to make sure I know who's playing a character with heals, and maybe slot in a Rebirth.
If I'm playing my scrapper, I stock up on greens, try to make sure I know who's playing a character with heals, maybe slot in a Rebirth, and enjoy the fact that my protection still works just fine against all the other mobs in the trial.
In both cases, sometimes the character dies. As the biggest penalty involved is the effort of turning on toggles and running back from the hospital on the mission map, that doesn't really bother me, either. -
I know someone who worked on the software that controlled a hot steel rolling mill. The code was antique and arcane, and the mill couldn't be stopped for the code to be updated. Nothing provides an incentive for careful testing like being the one who has to stand in the control booth in the middle of the mill and press the button to load the new code.

Quote:I've missed these threads, too. Personally, I blame the devs for introducing too many other choices for forum rage. Everyone was already fully occupied hating on iTrials and the rate of Incarnate progress, and the devs went ahead and brought in a whole new set of rage options with Premium access levels and Paragon Point costs.I actually forgot to say this in my original response, because it looked like it was going to turn into one of those epic threads that we've had far too few of lately. Marketeer-focused rage has left my cups o' tears a little dry these past few months, to be honest.

So do you know if all the flying Lore pets use a new function, or the same one as the Phantasms? I'm all curious, now, because I'd never really noticed before that Lore pets were the first flying pets that can accept commands.
-
My theory is that the whip attacks in Demon Summoning were created solely to prevent the petless MM from becoming extinct as a result of Dual Pistols.

Quote:Doesn't that kind of AI exist already for the Illusion Phantasm, at least to some degree? I know they aren't controllable, but they seem to be able to be able to follow my Ill/Rad around and find their targets okay. These scripting limitations pose a huge technical hurdle for a "flying pet". Contextual information on the status of the player such as flying / hovering would need to be passed to the pet. Contextual information on the enemy such as flying / groundbound would also need to be passed along to properly synch up Mastermind Pet positioning with Target positioning
How does this currently work with the flying Lore pets? I don't have any of the flying ones myself, or I'd go take a look. Can't they be controlled at all, or do they just have to be directed to a ground location? -
Lower population server definitely helps. My main server is Defiant, and it's pretty rare that I can't get a name I want. Recently I create Voltage Spike (claws/elec scrapper), Freeze Police (ice/mace tank) and Band Sidhe (the sonic/sonic defender rock chick), all of which were my first choices.
-
One reason you might not recognise names is the server list merge. When the EU and US lists merged, the EU players were the ones who had to rename in case of conflicts, and some of the regulars lost their globals.
-
Quote:I like Keyes, too. Maybe having a Fire blaster as a main has helped my acceptance of death :-)In all seriousness, I may be in the minority, but I love running Keyes! And that was before I respec'd my Bane Spider into Aid Self.
I will admit, the first few runs were tough, and I despised Keyes, but I realized, this is what it boils down to. You have to be able to accept death.
But even she doesn't die constantly. The damage pulse goes off every 30 seconds, so four columns of green insps will last eight minutes, and that's assuming I don't manage to stand next to anyone with a heal in that eight minute period, or fire off a Rebirth.
(The thing I find annoying about Keyes is that it seems to negate Stealth effects, which makes it very hard to sneak around and pick up the temps.) -
Well...I guess it's better than letting the Merit Vendors take up a second career as fashion consultants.
