  1. Haha, in the arena?

    He doesnt have a hope vs your stalker. Hopefully you have stealth so stacked with hide he will need to have yellows to see you.

    As soon as the fight starts charge over eat X amount of yellows, (should test on a friend how many you need vs 3 slotted PFF), buildup and AS him.

    Chances are he will not have had time to summon many pets and from then on he will not get much of a chance.

    After a few kills if he ever does get his pets out safe way is just not to fight, let the time tick away, and bask in the glory of your early kills .

    Least thats what I would try to do.

    Outside of arena just run back and forth from a shop with yellows, reds and lucks and one shoot him each time .

    Edit: Actually on second thoughts he will prob have force bubble wont he . Heard that MoG can be used against that but dont know for sure.
  2. TBH what has been said is very true imo. You may do well in PvE but I honestly think Rad without its main powers wil not rule over one with those powers (Heal,AM,RI,EF and LR), LR vs all groups isnt a must but vs AVs etc. it is very useful.

    I think one thing you may also find is that you have to work around rooting. The fact you fly you may find yourself grounded alot and lacking in movement. With propel I am guessing you are maybe standing still a little too much and are prone to attacks.

    The best trick vs rooting powers is to jump in one direction and use the power at the hight of your jump. That way you are still moveing for some of the animation time and are thus less easy to AS.

    P.S. In SC controller damage, save perhaps Ill, is really quite small esp as containment may be hard to achieve. Solo troller isnt going to enjoy SC much most the time.

    In some ways defiance may be hard to use in PvP zones esp if you want to avoid debt. In other cases though its godly. Vs a stalker any blaster with quick reactions and good melee attacks can 2 hit a stalker after AS quite easily.

    My point mainly was I thought my blaster was fantastic in I4. True ED hit blasters but then it hit all. Blasters got defiance, more health and unresisted damage in PvP.

    All in all I never saw what people were complaining about before the buff to blasters so, for me at least, defiance was just a nice little addition that can sometimes be used to great effect.
  4. Couldnt make it to the pentads but in answer to your 1st post there have been a number of things ive found.

    1) Grant invis does stack and is really a must, also for a good villain team -perc powers such as fire dom's smoke or nin stalker's blinding powder should be considered. Also teamwork is a must. Just because a stalker can be seen it doesnt mean he cannot AS or get crits esp if backed up.

    2) Given that tier 1 MM pets are two levels lower then the MM and tier 2 pets are 1 level lower more acc enh are most likely needed then usual for PvP. Pets should also be used for other effects (mercs web grenade, bots -regen attacks etc.). MM's secondary is also very important and how it is used.

    3) Movement is always the key, always always always! For both sides supressed and unsupressed.

    4) Dom's pets are same as trollers. Fire would be for damage but damage isnt the only thing, sing can be very useful for control aspects. An MC dom can use TK which could be very useful in helping a stalker to land AS for instance as well as anoying overall. Grav can phase players I believe allowing for concentrated attacks on one target and time to heal/recover. Plant dom also has alot of powers to help stalkers land AS, imho doms and stalkers should work hand in hand at all times.

    5) Being the only non-squishy villain brutes should use taunt.

    This is very much only from my own exp of fighting in teams but I have not fought in prepared pentads so please take that into account as I may be wrong in what Ive said.

    Hope though that some of this can be of use, if only for ideas.
  5. One question about perc and stealth cap.

    From Peritus' and Iakona's figures stalker stealth cap is 1143 at level 50 while player perc cap is 1153.

    Theory A:

    I always took this to mean that stalkers can reach a max of -1143 stealth and players a max of +1153 perc.

    If this is the case then this would mean that perc is 500+1153=1653 and thus if both sides are capped the stalker is easily seen.

    Theory B:

    The 1153 figure includes the base 500 therefore making it so someone at perc cap will only see a stalker from 10yards.

    Can anyone who has tested this verify which is the case please? (and please go by testing and not forum figures).

    P.S. On the U.S. forum one stalker says:

    An answer is given that he must have had hide suppressed or something and that otherwise 10yards would me max perception range.

    From what I can see though this answer may not have been properly tested but mearly going by figures. What the stalker sayes backs up theory A while the answer backs theory B.

    I think this is alot down to play style tbh. I have used hover + SJ with great effect but as with your build there is a trick to using it.

    Hover/fly puts you into possition to snipe. The second you snipe you move to the direction you want to go and take fly off falling to the ground. If you are high enough and because suppression starts from the the beginning of snipe SJ kicks in before you hit the ground, easily.

    Making sure you land on the other side of a building etc. will mean loss of sight and SJ isnt a bad power for losing someone as long as you have not been targeted (interupt reds in snipe in order for you to start moving before it is fired).

    This is more a tactic in battles where you can pick targets without max health so as to kill them in one shot with BU+Aim.

    I am not saying it is any better but personally I find hover/fly+SJ can be a very nice combo aswell.

    WAIT, just realised your saying for your build SJ would be bad? Almost certainly . For Fire/Dev though it should be good I would think.

    Edit: Also useful for Fire if you want to close in on your target, i.e. snipe, turn off fly and fall next to them for close ranged attacks.
  7. Does seem a funny one but with the level being so low it could be restricted to only level 5s so nobody can have an advantage with SOs and slots.

    May be interesting what people would go for as some sets could have useful powers even at that level imo.

    Course, it could just be a joke.
  8. Hmm, didnt think of fire for smoke, went for EM/Nin though for its -perc power.

    While EM for dam type is much better for brute I found rage was easier to build with SS and in longer fights this could be useful as unlike PvE you are probably going to gain fury through outgoing attacks then incoming.

    Personally like MC/Ice. MC for TK and ice for greater protection and power boost and slows (really depends if your fighting heroes or villains but */Ice cannot be ASed).

    Therm for forge mainly.

    Nin MM probably does the most damage and has alot of stuns and trops. Again depends what your up against imo, Bots have -regen on their attacks so could be used to help take down regen scrappers.

    Sorry to put this in 2nd post, just thought I would explain my choices.

    Pretty much fotm, what I liked to play or what I havnt liked to fight too much.

    This is a hint that should not be used at all at situations like this. Airborne corruptors and coordinated impalers turn you to shreds with 2 spikes and there is nothing you can do because you are immobilised.

    Also just wondering what damage four hits with Energy Transfer with buffs and buildup does (*4 for damage vs resting opponent) .
  14. Funny you should ask this .

    Made a Fire/TA to, I think, level 10 to test out the -perc mainly.

    Testing it out in the arena I killed an even level blaster purely due to this (low level blasters with their loads of attacks and defiance are usually tough at low level for me) score was about 6-0 purely due to -perc.

    Didnt even have stealth but if you thow that in I think you could easily make them lose target while you move in and out of range and your pets beat em up, (just have to fight those nasty black widow bosses in zone mishs w/o +perc to see how nasty -perc can be, which gave me the idea in the 1st place).

    The reason though I didnt carry on to see what else was on offer was the HORRIBLE anim times on TA which I think will get you killed alot .

    Edit: Also asked on boards if TA was getting anim reductions along with archery but didnt get an answer.
  15. I have a fire/storm and it is quite a nice combo, alot of control + damage.

    In PvP I fought an MM with fully upgraded pets with Ill/Rad and had little chance (though didnt have fear). Fire/Storm on the other hand it was different as storm alowed me to control his pets while killing him.

    Same princible also works for PvE .
  16. I recently made a fire/dev blaster and from level 1 to level 12 it was very easy to do mishs on unyielding with defiance up most the time (though devices has fantastic dam mitigation).

    With my Ice/Nrg I also dont seem to have a great problem and by the time health is low you have killed the group.

    Is the problem with defiance that it is much less useful in teams where hovering at low health is almost impossible to do? Or is it that at higher level it is harder to use (levels 40+)?

    Edit: Also I think defiance is one of the best inate powers given to any hero AT. Scrapper used to crit anyway, controllers got containment but lost pets and control, tanks got gauntlet but lost alot of aggro management and defenders only got something that can be used in teams. ED on the other hand shafted everyone .

    Katana FTW!

    Ive also done Kendo and used to teach both foil and saber (fencing). The way I see it is not left or right handed as such. In fact any fencer will tell you that a left handed person tends to have the advantage as they are used to fighting right handed fencers while most people have less exp fighting against left handed fencers (attacks coming from a slightly different angle).

    Dont really have a problem with a katana user being left handed since if that is the hand you favour there is no reason why it shouldnt work (though it is true kendo is mostly taught with a bias to right hand), I have fought left handed fighters and as I say they actually tend to have an advantage.

    I have a 2nd world war katana however and its quite heavy. Only thing I think is a bit unrealistic is running and jumping about carrying it in one hand, left or right. But then dont see why a super hero cannot pull that one off .

    Meaning the team with the MM that I fought which ended in a double KO because he popped his head over a wall and I was too slow to except the TP friend .

    It really isnt fair though its making it so we heroes are having to start to work as a team .

    P.S. What is happening with so many villains popping up in SC these days and actually teaming and using tactics? Its really good that its happening but just wondering if its some new evil scheme to take over the world... or summit.

  21. I am really interested in this aswell. Dont have access to builder atm but what I am wanting on my Spines/Regen is fighting,leaping,speed and either leadership or teleport pools.

    Given that I am not taking quills (yes I know but not building it for aoe but rather for ranged attacks) will it be possible to have CJ,SS,tactics,toughen,FA and integration running without stamina and end reds in attacks, (erm, reading it I have a feeling I know the answer )?

    Also how much of a difference does health make to regen rate, is it enough to save you in quicker fights?
  22. Think its really down to play style but given what you have writen I would say Leaping pool would be ideal for its immob,hold and KB protection.

    Edit: Never played Emp but have always liked teaming with one with TP friend.
  23. To be honest I quite like it as it is. One of the funnies times I was killed was at 10 health after I had run the entire map I rested infront of the hospital only for the stalker who was following me to jump in and one shoot me before he was vaporized. Since it is easy enough to nip into the hospital the fault was all mine.

    Must admit though I dont really understand what pleasure is gained by TPing a lone target into a waiting group but that really is just based upon what my idea of what fun is. Drone TPing seems completly pointless to me, though would probably be tempted vs some people .

    Edit: From reading the other posts does this mean it is possible to TP someone out of the hospital when you dont have LoS?
