Quote:Like a DNPC in tabletop Champions RPG!But they'd only end up being kidnapped all the time - so while having to save your helpless boyfriend from terrible danger all the time would be a pretty accurate RL simulation, I'm not sure it'd add that much to the game when we already have rescue missions.
I am not interested in having my house amburshed at this time. Thank you, and no, I don't want a newsletter. -
One day I shall quit looking at threads by Power. This is not that day.

Quote:And that's why you don't say his name! How DARE you! That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard!
I've never been so humiliated!
Well, maybe not "never." I remember that time in kindergarten when I just couldn't hold it anymore and I left a big puddle in the back row, and I hoped they'd blame it on my deskmate Todd Fleming...
...who always made me think of figure skater Peggy Fleming. Hey, speaking of figure skaters, that Dorothy Hamill was always a looker, wasn't she? I think it was her hair that got me...
...and y'know who else had great hair? Lynda Carter. Say, did you ever see that episode of the old Wonder Woman show where Lorene Yarnell played Formicida, the queen of the ants? Of course, she was the mime partner of Robert Shields back in those days...
...now if you want to talk mime, there was no one like Red Skelton. Man, I loved that guy. Y'know, he was a Hoosier like me. You know where the word "Hoosier" comes from, don't you? That's been an interesting conjecture over the years. Maybe we should talk about that...
P.S. Glad to have you on the boards, Drew! If you need a team in-game, my global is @CommonGrounds.
P.P.S. Play my new guest author arc in Architect!
P.P.P.S. Excelsior!
At least he didn't mention his lack of pants this time... -

Quote:I usually just ignore the mobs on that misson and go straight for clicking glowies. The only time I ever failed it was when it popped up on a team mission, and the leader chose to pick someone elses mission to do.i can't think of any timed mission that you can not beat. most of them, i believe, involve finding a clue or a glowie which means easy. the only one i can think that you are trying to drop is the 10 min timed one that you have to find 4 glowies. the secret to that mish is to stealth it. it can definately be finished well within the 10 min.
i guess that is a /unsigned from me as it actually forces you to play some of the game rather then skip through it.
It's really not that hard, even without stealth.
Sorry Fusion_7, but /unsigned from me as well. -
I'd say 32 as well, but it doesn't affect me one or the other.
I got to 50 on blueside, got my Khelds, then got to 50 on redside and got my VEATS.
Games change over time. -
Welcome!
Post on your server boards that you're looking for an active SG, one that RPs. You'd probably have the best luck finding one on Virtue. -
Somehow... someway... some extradimensional alien quasi-inteliigence forces me to click on Power's threads.

I disagree Yogi.
Defenders get just as much space in teams in the RWZ and the holiday Pocket D events as Corrs and MMs. GR isn't going to change that. -
A little late responding, but welcome to the City!
To echo much of what has been said, yes, it is worth playing. This game and this community is one of the best I've ever been a part of.
I've played MxO, DDO (and still do), WAR, WoW and EQ and I've betatested LotRO, which I kept playing for a few months, and several others.
I don't like everything about this game, but who does like everything about any one thing, really?
I can log on and get a team within a few minutes. Or I can just head out solo and take my aggressions out on a few dozen mobs.
I can log onto Cheat Code, my claws/ super reflexes scrapper, who has supermodel good looks and is completely slotted with IOs, I can solo Archvillians with ease and do content designed for a 54 group of 8 players while sipping a cold beer, or I can log onto my katana/ willpower scrapper, a lost teddy bear, and just have fun being a teddy bear in a bowler hat with a big sword and movie action hero toughness.
If someone asks if I want to team, it doesn't matter what level they, or I, are. We can do my missions at level 50, or I can join them in a low level sewer run. I get some extra Influence/ Infamy (which is the way money is counted in this game) and they get XP.
If you just want to have fun and play the game, you can. If you want to go hardcore and figure out the best builds, the best dps attack chain, and the best IO sets for your character, that's there as well.
If you're into RPing, that's here. If you're into PvPing, we have that as well. If you just want to hang out and talk to friends, you're covered, too.
Let me ask you, in any other game, have you ever had a dev send you a private message wanting to ask you something? Our devs do. All the time. They care about the community, and want to include us in the decisions made for this game. Because they know, it's not just their game. It belongs to all of us.
I started in October of 2007. I made an Energy/ Energy blaster on a trial account. I worked my way through the tutorial and went to Atlas Park.
What? Why is the sky green? Rikti invasion.... uhm, what's a Rikti? Team invite.. okay. Sidekick invite? I'm relegated to "Decoy, the Pig Hostage" role? Ok, guess that's the way the game is set up... Oh, this isn't a normal thing, okay. I'm fighting these aliens as a level 49? You mean I can team with high levels? Nice! It's not like that in other games.
We defeated the Rikti invasion and the team departed. I got picked up by another team and they patiently explained what was going on. It was so different from other games.
People who've played for longer than me, and now myself, have helped create a viable, living, breathing superhero and supervillian universe. It's got a ton of lore and backstory. It's got several enemy groups, and it's got FREEM! If you jump on board, you're a new hero, in the first issue of your new comic book, ready to add your own story to the shelves.
I am so longwinded after a bad night at work! -
I could go for this as well.

Considering my computer is hooked into a tv... and with it I can watch anything in the world, I go for Television all the way!
-
It's a really fast read with a funny plot and some bits of seriousness thrown in, especially at the end.
I read all 8 in less than an hour. -

Quote:You'll always have my support, Television! Not like the muttered ramblings of a self-proclaimed genius who's only stroke of intellect was writing the series pilot for "Street Hawk"The screen pans in on the President giving a State of the Union address.
'It's tempting to look at the history of Television and assume that Television was always destined for greatness. But when the personal computer first appeared, Television's success was entirely uncertain. When the first dedicated e-book readers launched, Television's hold was absolutely in question. These were times that threatened the very fabric of friendship and meaning. That threatened who we were, who we are. But despite advances in technology, despite our fear and differences, the Television remained great because we chose to support it. We now face another threat, this time not just by an entertainment commodity, but by its creator, Dr. Aeon. Aeon tells us not to watch television, not because AE is better, but through fear of the Television.'
'I know the fears that are out there. Some of them are old -- the fears that Television can't compete with the new media. Others are no older than Aeon's propaganda campaign.'
'The Television does not control minds. The Television tells stories. The Television is stories. So are you. You are all a lot of stories. Some stories come out of working your nine to five jobs. The good ones come from Television and playing CoV.'
'Aeon believes that the best way to get a new graphics technology out sooner is to berate the tech lead who is so identified with images that it is named the Television. I don't know what to make of that. What I do know is that every time you post about your friendship with the Television you affirm the importance of stories and meaning. You remind the devs that pretty pictures require stories to live. You ask for content and you tell them you don't want to wait for Going Rogue. And believe me: the devs are listening.'
'We need to start protecting our friends. We need to start supporting our friend the Television. It is time for you to post your support for your friend Television, Forum Posters, and remind us of the importance of stories.'
Oh yes, Aeon, I went there! Television told me all about your campy pitches for failed series. -

I'm not on Justice but welcome to CoX!

I went and got the comic series today. It's been talked about for a while in the other forum.

Mainly from Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction
If you are told to keep a mission low-profile and there is not a building left standing, and several innocent civilians are killed, it's okay, you just lose a little money.
