  1. To be honest if they make Stalker Hide like Brute's energy cloak that would be a quick, and easy change which would profoundly alter how Stalkers play.
  2. I want to be able to protect squishes by using placate, not have them crushed. As a stalker I do not fear having too much aggro, I fear that I can't do enough damage to protect my teammates, and the inability of not being able to use placate cuts into my damage potential.
  3. Yeah, to add to what has been said, if I use placate, there is a chance my squishy teammate is crushed, so I feel like I can't use placate aggressively or defend my squishies on the team adequately when the brute or tank is tied up.

OH my.... this DA/EA Brute has become one of my favorite melee ATs so far. The new Fury makes Brute a lot more enjoyable. I didn't like Brute before because fury used to drop quicker when it's lower and I hate losing fury. But with the new change, it seems to build faster when it's lower and drops slower. I know it's hard to maintain it over 75% but Brute doesn't need 75% to be awesome.

The stealth in EA is very interesting. I've seen it in action but have never tried it. The unsuppressed stealth sometimes allows me to kill one target in a group of 5 and the other 4 still don't know I am there! It takes them several seconds to figure out. LOL That's what ASSASSIN is supposed to be!!!! You stealth into a group and kill them and they don't even know you are there!

Well, a shocking realization... Brute > Stalker by a pretty large margin IMO (especially on a large team). I know I've defended Stalker many many times but the new Fury allows me to constantly have high damage and I can just slot for ACC, RECH and END to make sure I keep it going. I am not a big Brute fan. I just really enjoy DA/EA right now and this makes me realize how bad Stalker is at low level on a team. If you take AS at lvl 6 and Placate at lvl 8. You really only have two legit attacks (assuming you take some shields as well). They gotta do something about Assassin strike because I think this power is the reason why Stalker sucks on a team.

Brute sets a very high standard for what a melee dps class should be like... and Stalker has more to catch up IMO.
The stealthy style of /Energy brutes is vastly underrated. Glad another convert has come along. I am thinking of rolling up a Claws/EA brute to be honest.

  6. This is very neat given that this will be open to various play styles, and opens up character progression for the new Incarnate content to test your mettle. My interest is piqued indeed!
  7. Thank you for the feedback Castle.

I will say that I hope you re-consider looking at Stalker AoE potential outside of Hide, but other than that, I am inclined to agree with your view point.

Actually they have already done that in PVP, but I don't think they want to do it in PVE. The reason being that may make you happy with such changes, but as a result it might make someone else unhappy that their favorite powers are nerfed.

That said, this thread has devolved, as usual, into arguing about arguing. As such I wash my hands of it, it serves no further purpose.

    To conclude, I'll say this:
I don't like the Fitness Pool being made inherent. I don't believe it adequately addresses what I percieve as problems with the game. I believe it adds NEW problems, including forcing powers on people that they might not want and leaves us with more powers and no new slots to put in them.

I would rather have seen the pool reorganized so Stamina was available at L6, or Stamina ALONE made inherent, and something new put into the Fitness Pool at L20.
I think that is a reasonable suggestion given that a new fitness power at 20 would be interesting, and there are people that don't want swift or hurdle due to character concepts.

My join date is a bit misleading, but yes I use to see a lot of Ice/Axe Vikings themed tankers back in 2004 on my AR/Dev blaster on Champion. It definitely brings back some nostalgia that is for sure.
  11. I just started an Ice/Axe tank, and it is surprisingly fun, and it also fits my character concept too!
  12. Welcome to the game! I am sure you are looking forward to picking up a travel power.

The first one is my favourite
I like this a lot as it has a Thunder Catish feel (My favorite cartoon of all time). If you do re-visit your werewolf stalker try using dual blades.
  14. This event is so much fun. Thank you CoX team!

    /Traps

Knockback isn't much of an issue when Traps is paired with AR, so I doubt it would be a problem with Energy.

Put me down for Dark as well to pair with Traps. I have seen on some occasions Rad/Traps, which I might be willing to give a go.
  16. The Hercules Titans I eat for breakfast with my AR/Sonic Corruptor. :P

From a Q&A session I believe (sorry that I cannot link it for you).

What they have not revealed (as far as I know) is WHY this is being done. Most people (myself included) have speculated that it is being done to assist newer players in getting into and staying in the game after their initial experience. The first 20 levels can be quite a turn-off depending on how quickly you learn the ropes and which AT/Combination you choose.
A lot of builds without access to SO's pre-20 struggle with end, as well because they lack the slots to invest end reducers in key powers. In the distant past you had to make a choice of slotting accuracy or end reducers pre 20 for attacks, as an example, and either choice wasn't ideal, because there was drawbacks. Now, the choice is a little easier, in that, you can invest in end reducers, but it still causes end issues to an extent.

I agree that this change is geared more for the pre 20 characters/avatars, but think of it as a bonus for everyone else to pick up more powers late in the leveling process to 50.

I think I shall label this... "Experiment Dur".

If you can keep this experiment going that would be really cool, because I wonder what would happen over a longer period of time.

In the past they have turned down that request, but now I think it is possible.

That sums up my thoughts as well.
  21. Taste indeed varies, but the origin pack is considered an upgrade compared to the party pack, which I wouldn't dispute. But compared to the other boosters it is lackluster.

    Look devs! A time-sink idea!

Either way, it's hard to justify the ever increasing add-on costs when it only benefits specific characters here and there. Most of the packs I did buy were ones that benefited EVERYONE on my account (like ninja).

Well, at least Christmas is coming and maybe I'll get a little more money in my "super booster" fund.
You are not alone as I view it the same way, in that, it has to benefit a lot my concepts, or even be useful in some fashion, to be worth it from my view point.

I am currently leveling an AR/Sonic corruptor, and I do feel the endurance pinch from time to time. I think some power sets can use an endurance re-adjustment, but overall I do not think it is a problem across many AT's, just a select combinations. But because of fitness becoming inherent I plan on picking up conserve power from power mastery.
