Quote:level matters. If you exemplar for taskforces, oroboros, pvp zones or just to help friends with their missions two things happen: #1 the enhancement % you get per slot is reduced. #2 set bonuses from your sets get turned off if you are 3 or more levels below the IO. Also, level matters because stupid people pay a metric sh@%-ton of inf for level 50 IOs when the 40-49s are 99.999999% the same. In some cases 100% the same.
What level IOs do I craft/buy? 50, or does the level not matter?
Like I said, I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing and any help is greatly appreciated.
So for example, lets say you slot 5 level 50 Doctored Wounds into a heal power. This gives you a very handy 5% bonus to the recharge of all your powers. Now, let's say you decide to try Manticore's taskforce. You'll be reduced to level 35 and you will lose the recharge bonus because 35 is more than 3 levels below 50 (the level of your IOs). If you had slotted level 38 IOs you would still have the bonus.
For the record, common/generic/one stat IOs are "better" than level 53 SOs at level 40.
Dual (eg acc/dam) Set IOs are better than level 53 SOs at level 24. Triple (ed Acc/Dam/Rech) set IOs are better than level 53 SOs at level 20. So you can use that as a guideline. -
I can get 1 mill a piece if I wait until right before the winter event. Selling them now for 27k each is definitely not profit.
But good luck, I bet there are plenty who'd be glad to dump them. -
Quote:This looks like an invitation for my favorite speech about the joys of frankenslotting. =)Actually, most of my 22+ characters don't have 40%+ slotting to accuracy. That's usually fairly hard to do without some serious slotting which you really don't have available at that level.
I know some people hate to miss and slot way more accuracy than damage, but I've always 1acc+2-3damage, which generally works for most slots.
So you have three slots and are level 22. Right now using SOs you could have 1 Acc, and 2 dam for 38% Acc/76% Damage while they're toop of the line, but they'll drop fast as you level.
Or you can slot (all level 25 same as the SOs):
Pulverizing Fisticuffs Acc/Dam/Rech, Focused Smite Acc/Dam/Rech, Acc/Dam
for: 52% Acc, 52% Dam, 32% Rech at level 22
The PF costs 74k to craft and maybe 10k in salvage. The FS cost 36k to craft and maybe 2k in salvage.
Level 25 SOs cost 29.9k with some variety per style and store.
You replace those SOs even once from a store and you're over the price of the sets.
You can play around with the options to get some end reduction, heavier damage, etc.
Also, these guys will always be higher bonuses and often cheaper than equivalent-level common IOs. -
Pocket D teleport store in vault and use either the mission teleport or your base teleport to get back tot he mission fast. After the mission use Atlas, Cap Au Daible or similar zone with a vault and market nearby to dump both your refilled inventory and the vault inventory on the market for big profits.

Quote:Just FYI, while getting the money together to finish slotting out my elec/elec as listed in the build I linked above, I have ~6% defenses and woefully underslotted resists. And I can farm +0/x8 Rikti endlessly. It just depends on who you choose to farm. Seriously, I'm still using what I labeled as my "junk" build and I can do rikti at x8.Because I'm a retard, I put my response in the wrong thread. So, again, I guess I was shooting for a survivable farm brute. Need infamy and have a lot of hungry alt mouths to feed. That and I've just always loved the concept, but never had the huge amounts of infamy you'd need to build a good one.
I mentioned in my moron post in the wrong thread that I don't see a build that reaches the caps for resist or defense. Is that just not doable for a brute or just an elec brute?
With /elec rikti are your victims of choice and it is stupidly easy to give them the beat down. Don't do Romans, and I dislike nemesis due to the stacked vengeances. But I can also ravage the rocks in DE missions that people say are not good to farm because of the cairns. If I need tickets I customized a banished pantheon mission I can solo at +1/x8 also. I assume that with the upgraded build I'll be able to farm a much wider variety of enemies and I'll have a higher damage output to boot.
Also, with a farmer you don't need to cap defense or resist because you're chugging down insps like 4 or 5 per spawn. All you gotta be is within one small of the cap and the infinite supply o insps from your kills will take care of the rest.
If you want a good all around farmer/taskforcer then you want fire/shield. But it's spendy to build into top notch performance. -

So anyone have an idea which powersets feel most peacebringer-like for the praetorian double?
And anyone have a good human/tank build they can point me at? I'm still going through older posts looking. -
Quote:Oooh, I like this idea! Thank you. Now I just gotta figure out a build for it.Here's my honest opinion on how to make your life really easy. You are level 41 yes?
Pick up oppressive gloom from dark epic.
Drop sleet on them run and stand among them and all the minions will be perma stunned. Use freezeray on the lut. Now everything you face solo is mezzed with no real special attention needed other than targeting the lut and standing among them.
Take your time killing them, you are in no real hurry any more.
As a byproduct this will put you where you need to be to maximize heatloss.
From the sounds of it you are just being overwhelmed with options cause everything you have is a click power. You said you are already moving slowly, so now the best option is for you to slow the game down by eliminating pretty much any danger you face more or less passively so that you can focus on your attack sequences without worry.
It will make your life a lot easier than any of the other epic options. And drop frostbreath, it is lame. -
Quote:Most hamis are not too bad redside, unfortunately, enzymes are over 50m each last time I checked. The positive side is that there are a lot of them available.Fire melee has the best low cost 3 power chain in the game and this build offers enough recharge to keep everything fluid. Not sure how hard hamis are to get red side, but the panacea's are gonna cost a bit of coin, if blue side is any indication. Fortunately, the enhancements that drives the cost up (purps and pans) are for faster recharge and won't affect what's needed to cap your defenses.
the panacea's it is not so much the price as availability. If you don't know someone who farms PvP, you simply cannot get them. And they will cost you billions to fill your power. I think it is a good idea to just pretend that PvP IOs don't exist in the game when giving someone a build unless they specifically say they can get them. Purples are not so bad, PvP IOs are brutal.
Swap Doctored Wounds for that panacea. -
No recent guides but we had two good threads in the past couple weeks.
Mine is here. And Dark Jeremy's is here. There were I think three others too. -
PB can you post that long-form for those of us without access to mids (doesn't exist for the Mac yet).
-
Also Aim and Buildup both fit awesome sets. Not least of which the ever popular gaussian's and Adjusted targetting. But if you're going for s/l defenses rectified reticle 2-piece plus a recharge is decent as well.
As stated, the to hit and damage buffs from the power are handy. When you remember to use them *hides head in shame* -
Quote:Actually, he does have a much more recent version. But as you said it's not as current as mids.At the moment, your only option on a Mac is SuckerPunch's Planner (it's browser-based, rather than a download), though the version that's available is extremely out of date.
-
That is the "mission pacing" as it is called in AE, but it applies to all missions. Depending on the pacing enemies can spawn at -1 to +1 from the difficulty chosen. So if you choose a +0 mission, you might still have rooms with +1 enemies and some with -1 enemies.
-
Quote:Actually, the lower level you are the weaker bosses are. Level 1 to 5 bosses barely have more hit points than lieuts. I use a custom AE arc with enemies locked to level 1 for my tanks and defenders to level up in since they are such high exp for so few hp. I strongly recommend it.True. But a duo fighting a +2 boss (+1 to one of the players) should be fine, unless the character who's sidekicked is level 3 or something.
But in the 20s bosses have gotten quite tough.
Quote:It was a +1 (to the Mentor) Widow, which ended up being harder than the Elite Boss we had to fight.
He was a level 20 Blaster (and I happened to be a natural level 19, but still 'effectively' a sidekick) of a Warshade.
The only way that we defeated her was by mass inspirations eventually.
Are your primary attacks at 40%+ because if not, you really should tone down the level of your enemies. You want 50-60% accuracy to go up against +2s (depending on any tohit buffs such as the Kismet unique), and really don't want to try it with only "one" accuracy slotted, especially if it is a DO. -
Quote:Redside you get these with the Smuggler and Marketeer badges. Smuggler comes from the ferries. This makes Cap au Diable the ideal since the university market and ferry are so close together. However, Port Oaks and St. Martial are also decent. For every 24 hours spent logged off in a Shop or WW, you'll earn 1 Invention Discount Coupon. Log off in a Store and earn the Shop Keeper badge first. I'd suggest using Talos Island, and logging off in the Tech store. Even at a low level, it's easy to get there. Then, you can log out in WW, and continue to log out there after you get the Accolade. There's a Base Portal nearby for easy crafting access.
If you don't have access to a Super Group/Super Group with a Crafting Table, then Steel Canyon is the next best choice. The Natural Store just on the other side of the University, where you can go to craft.
Oaks has the ferry just down the hill and the abandoned lab for crafting a short hop over the bay.
St. Martial has the vanguard base for crafting and the ferry just over the highway in the Arachnos base. -
You are correct. Hostages in the back of a cave will be a drain for a long time after being freed. overland city maps are decent because there are lots of nearby doors for them to use.
-
Quote:I would also like this and to add that sometimes it's just one mission out of an arc that has the problem. So not being able to try and provide feedback on the later missions is an unfortunate loss. But this option would solve it!While some of you might say to just rate the arc down and quit, that's a bad idea. Often it is not due to the author's skill, and it's very annoying to be doing an arc and then be forced to either quit or wade through a specific task. It would work just like the regular auto complete.

Quote:I've been looking at that possibility. Right now with one Mainframe I can't use Monitor Banks because the output is too low. I do wish there was something 15/30 instead of 10/20. Ah well.I generally avoid databases of both types. They are the absolute most inefficient control generating auxiliaries.
Monitor Banks / Mega Monitors are pretty damn good.
Another option is if you have a Hidden base plot size that is the same cost for the Secure variety, and you have the right kind of control room set-up, you can just use two mainframes.
-np
But even with two mainframes a single advanced database puts out more control than all 7 I currently have. So two with two mainframes I'm still concerned that I won't have enough control to max out my teleporters, storage and crafting. -
Also remember the new suite of temporary confuse powers. Beguile, Seduce etc from day jobs and the halloween event, and I think a few other possibilities. I know I drop those charges on Roman Surgeons, Rikti Guardians and similar. I've seen some credit come in on those characters so I'm guessing it counts.
-
Warburg Nukes + an Ill/Rad Controller and Kin/Fire Corrupter watching your back (just make sure the controller is also watching the corr because, you know, having a villain at your back and all isn't a good way to keep your lunch money safe).
-
Quote:A couple of thoughts. First off, if you're wiping then obviously neither of you can handle the +1 setting so run at +0. There's nothing wrong with that.So exactly why is 1 Minion and 1 Boss considered balanced on duos?
Then you add +1 level to the primary mission holder...
...and your sidekick is suddenly facing off against a +2 (purple) Boss.
Sorry, I'm just really frustrated with dying constantly as a sidekick at level 19 because of the 'new' mob difficulty that they implemented a few issues ago.
It's no fun team wiping with your friend every two or three spawns.
Second, look at your ATs your powers, and what enemies you are up against. If you're dark attacks and going after CoT who resist dark heavily and then on top of that have some of the nastiest powers in the low-level game well maybe that could be changed by running missions against Family. for instance.
What ATs and powersets are you running? What missions are you having trouble with?
Last how much accuracy do you have slotted? -
-
Quote:Wow! Very nice.Closest I've been able to get to a classic wizard's robe is
Now if only we could get Akarist's headpiece and robe pattern to lay ontop of that one.
Question, possibly best tossed into Jay's thread, but it is on topic here: We know from Shields and Weapons that they have the ability to limit costume options based on powerset choice. What if the existing CoT robes were enabled only for those non-melee ATs whose leg movements wouldn't interfere/clip?
I'm guessing that jump kick at least in the pools would be an issue and possibly others. But I dunno. If it is the look, could it be enabled for some ATs at least? Does anyone who knows more about modelling than I do have any insight?
