Most of us get the occasional mapserver disconnect. It can happen because of a networking problem anywhere between the client and the server apps. In general the closer to the server it happens the more people will be affected.
Its normally just a case of waiting for it to kick you out and logging back in.
You will as you have discovered get the message "This account is already logged in" this is because whilst the client no knows it has disconnected the server doesn't yet and won't until it times out - that is probably the same timer as the inactivity logout.
When you attempt to login the server reports this back to the client and you get the message, clicking OK to that logs you off of the server. You should then be able to log back in normally.
Occasionally you will find this happens repeatedly and you should report this to support so they can assist you in identifying the problem - assuming you haven't just pulled your network cable out or something else equally obvious. If it is happening to everyone it may be a problem on the servers or with their provider. If its just you then it is likely to be your PC, local network or ISP. If it affects some people but not everyone then its probably some link in between which will be out of both of your control.
You may get a general feel for how many are affected if you have some of the more popular global/server chat channels displayed by the number of comments made on them about it. -
Are you a button masher or a mouse clicker?
There are two common ways of firing off your powers - some people find one works better than the other so it is worth trying both options to find out which works better for you.
Personally I prefer using the keyboard to fire my powers. To help with this I put all those in my attack chain and any others I may want to use quickly in power tray 1 with the attack chain grouped together in the order I normally fire them.
Open up the other main trays and set them to trays 2 and 3 and put my utility powers in them.
I also remove all powers I never use from the trays.
I also open extra trays to hold things like travel toggles or long duration buffs - these don't tend to get used in combat so are generally somewhere out of the way on the screen.
Also set up your screen windows how you like it - which may not be the default - mine certaily isn't and use that same layout for all toons. -
If you have Nemesis Staff and Blackwand vet awards then the underground zones can generate a lot of xp a bit like a sewer run even solo. Those give a huge increase in damage capability at low levels which makes for much better survivability.
The fastest way though would be to wait for the DXP weekend coming up though. -

Did you try resetting the mish - if necessary by having everyone log off?

Any reason for going with Win 7 Ultimate - that offers very little over the Professional version if you need the enterprise connectivity or Home Premium which would be the best option for most people.
Also insist on original CDs/DVD for all software - don't rely on recovery discs - if the HD fails and you lose the recovery partition it will be useless.
Dell make decent Office spec machines but they are easily beaten for anything that will run games well and anything that will run games at all will run Office.
I'd suggest looking around for a gaming spec PC and then installing an OEM copy of office on it. You will want a better graphics card even if its at the expense of the CPU speed. -
Done this on several ATs now - some can solo him others can't.
Fire/Thorns Dom - Hold Trapdoor, kill clones kill Trapdoor - easy
Grav/Sonic troller - Ditto
Mind/Storm troller (Beta) Hold Trapdoor - what clones? - kill trapdoor - stupidly easy
Dark/Dark Corrupter - Couldn't perma hold him - kill clones, hit trapdoor once, hunt down new clone and kill it - hit Trapdoor once - repeat getting nowhere
Kin/Elec Def - Ditto
Widow - Couldn't hold Trapdoor - beat him down to half health - get two shotted through way over softcap def, repeat.
Definite pattern there - toons that can keep him perma held - easy even without insps or temp pets.
Everything else lots of work and pain. -
Quote:The GTS250 and also the 9800 and 8800 series cards which are to all intents the same card is perfectly capable of running UM with most settings maxed out at 1600x1200 and still able to return about 20 fps.You can also get more help/opinions in the Technical issues thread.
Note, even the "base" card je_saist listed will, IIRC, run UM on LOW just fine, which still looks snazzy.
Even the 8600 is able to run UM above minimum. At the end of the day the what you find will work will depend on the resolution you want to run and what you consider to be a playable frame rate.
Je_Saist keeps going on that lower spec cards cannot run UM but I've yet to see any post where she states what resolution and frame rate she considers playable and there are plenty of us running with higher UM settings on cards she insists cannot do so. -

basically rename the installer to CohInstaller.EU.exe -
Quote:You're getting confused here all Microsoft 32 bit OS's are limited to 4Mb af addressible memory - this includes address space allocated to the graphics and other subsystems so in practice its about 3Mb usableHe also has Windows Vista atm, so he can only use up to 3 GB anyway.
But each of XP, Vista and Win 7 are also available as 64 bit versions which do not suffer from this limitation (there's still a limit but its a lot higher) so you need to check whether both systems are 32 or 64 bit before going further.
You should ensure both memory modules in the same bank match - you can mix speeds/sizes between banks but they will all run at the slowest rated set's speed.
There's not much difference between manufacturer's but branded memory may be more reliable than generic and not much different in price. Unless you plan on overclocking stick to standard speed memory - you can install faster but it won't make any difference (can sometimes be cheaper though) -
Quote:If you actually had played through the content rather than leaving so many arcs unfinished you wouldn't have the problem.True - but now I know that the developers don't care about the fact that this is unfair to players who actually DO play through the content and that they intend to do nothing about it. Thats fine - I get that.
I don't see that there is any reason for the developers to need to change anything there. This presumably was implemented to keep database sizes managable. They did increase the limit with I17 and that information was publicly disseminated.
It was also made clear that you should clear up existing arcs before switching sides although I would agree the inclusion of inaccesible arcs in the limit is undesireable. -
I suppose I should really say a very big GRATZ to my namesake and her Big Oaf.

C Drive: (WDC WD3200BEKT-22F3T0) 8557MB out of 84999MB (10%) free
This could be the problem - windows may be having problems trying to find contiguous free space.
Try first of all defragging the disk and if possible try to clear some more space - you don't really want less than about 20% free. -
Quote:That bridge board will indeed work. Translating between sATA and IDE is easy.
converting the power connectors is easy.
Converting the data is a lot more complex but there are plenty of serial to parallel interface chips available that can handle that side of things.
You may want to confirm which versions of the SATA and IDE/EIDE standards are supported though.
Having said that if you have SATA ports on the MB you will be better off using them - you may need to enable them in the BIOS though. -
Had my second one drop a couple of weeks back - it will be going on the market at some point - probably after I19 though.
As some of my toons still have their I4 freespec - and the only one I've ever respecced is my widow - and that only because it is unavoidable - I'm not exactly worried about needing it.
If I've no expensive sets I may just use the second build instead on some - other cases I'm goint to break habit and respec. -
I'd confirm this - its simple enough for sapper builds to end drain most mobs except AVs and with -recovery they don't get to attack back.
Easy to see against Babbage and also works very well against Famine Riders and an end drained Hami is amusing as well.
I use it regularly on my Kin/Elec Def when soloing especially against Malta - hold the Sapper (they have frightening levels of end drain resist), short circuit the Gunslingers, Zeus' and any other mob in range and Transfusion on any mezzer/Zeus out of range of it results in zero threat. -

Have you tried talking to your origin contact in City Hall and seeing if they will give you an introduction and then working up the chain until you get one that will grant mishes?
-
Would be better if the new target picked automatically didn't didn't get selected from mobs still inside the building as it frequently is. Always worked that way though.

Market was down yesterday eventually got brought back up 10pm ish (BST)

I take it you are spanning CoH over both monitors - if you want it on one whilst you use the other for other things you don't need to be windowed.
RenderScale should convert between your physical and virtual desktops I think so will change depending on the window size.
There used to be a program TweakCoh which would allow you to set the various registry settings outside CoH but I'm not sure if it has been updated recently - iirc the website for it described the registry settings used. -
Quote:Any advice would be appreciated. I've suggested he uninstalls WoW and all connected software and never speaks to any of his WoW-friends again, but he's expressed that he'd prefer a less radical solution
Eco.
The first part of that should be fine then - nothing radical there
However rather than never speaking to then he needs to educate them as to how much superior CoH is
More seriously though are there there may be a bottleneck in either memory or network bandwith which is getting hit when zoning. Has he changed the windows priorities for either CoH or Skype?
Also is this happening at all times or just certain parts of the day - traffic shaping by his ISP or on his firewall could also affect this. -
Quote:Even if they weren't available via Oruborous you could still use the old method of teaming with a lowbie with it.Okay, So I decided to start a badger in Praetoria, with the thought of using Ouroboros to badge red/blue side.
At work I started my research of what could be badged in Ouroboros looking at Paragon Wiki. It seems like many of the Accomplishment badges like "Plague Carrier" from the Radio contact (Steal Outbreak mission set) are not offered by Ouroboros. Is the Wiki out of date, or is there in fact a bunch of badges that can never be gotten? -
He should /bug it not /petition
unless of course he really wants to have a GM come to remove the buff - mind you it will have expired before they can respond in any event. -
I was sure the abilty to crit with epics was removed about 2 years ago for all ATs.
Containment for 'trollers certainly was disabled at that time, I believe all other ATs crits went at the same time.
