Loyalty is the theme and what better way to remind people than the two great symbols of the empire.

Wow, this is my favorite I think. Very well done!

I wouldn't bother apologizing Naq. You were plenty clear enough for anyone not trying to find an arguement and it is a good point. Since the game is made for teens and above, the location needs to be friendly for anyone in that age group to attend. Heck, even the "after hours" stuff should be kid friendly since I would want to take mine along to all the events if possible, especially if we had to travel any distance to get there.

I agree whole-heartedly DarkCurrent. There is a reason no reputable educational or scientific organization will accept any information quoted from Wikipedia. It's called accuracy and reliability. If Wikipedia told me that the sky was blue, I would be forced to do more research to verify it and would then begin to question any references that come even close to agreeing with them.

Wow, they throw in an extra convention they are going to hit up, so more people can M&G with them, and people complain?

Come on! It's an EXTRA convention at least. It's not even the 5th convention they have promised.

If it doesn't fit your schedule or location - who cares? At least they may entice a few extra people to check out the game, which can only be good for all of us.

As for the price complaint, I can almost see your point except that price is so you can see ALL the exhibits, not just one.

Even so, I think some people are putting the kart before the horse here since I have yet to see an offical announcement saying that Paragon Studios has decided to delay the release of Going Rogue. After all, since July is in fact in the summer, then the announcement was fully correct.

    I myself will reserve judgement.

Also, you didn't say you were content on the game being mediocre, that was what I got from your post to me. I was angery at the remark that you made to me about my ideas that I sent to this company. Of which you had know idea what they were, just that you HAD to make the....well, I can see way they haven't listened! My idea then was to, let people make or send in their own "personally made" (none trademarked) emblem (like: Pepsi, Coca Cola, EA, Nike, ect.) and charge anywhere from 5 to 10 dollars to have it in the game. That way, most people would not have the same emblem and the game would make some money. It was an idea for everyone and I didnt here 1 thing back on it. Funny thing was...CO (Champions Online) had a contest on the same idea I had given to NCSoft. The winner got in on the CO Beta test. Anyways, there have been like 3 other ideas I have had that were better then that and they NEVER send me back anything....not a TY or we might think about it....nothing! So, there you go...take it anyway you want. I tried at least to help bring in more people and for them to make more money in the process. To me....doesnt seem like they care or know how to do that, but maybe GR will? Good Day!!!
Purge, I have to say, poorly written and definately a rant on almost every level. Not that I don't agree with you a bit.

I myself have sent in several dozen suggestions (39 at last count) and have never seen a single bit of recognition even though some of them have shown up in the game. Now does that mean that they ignored me? Probably not. Does that mean they have followed my suggestions? Probably not since I am sure others have sent in the exact same suggestions as well. Heck, I have even suggested that the CoX website receive a major update and so far not any real progress.

All it means is that I have sent in suggestions.

Try to think of this before letting yourself get pissed off again: Exactly how many people to do you think send them suggestions and how many of them are repeats? Does every single one deserve a reply? and How much time would be wasted if they did reply to them?

Now, PLEASE do keep sending in suggestions, you never know which ones will get into the game.

Pine, I had this problem a while back and found out it was my own computer doing it, not the game. Try adjusting your monitor resolution to a couple of different settings and seeing if it helps you out. It did for me.

If on the other hand you are talking about the screen being "shrunk", I believe that is to make room for a 7th enhancement slot since there is now room for it by my estimation. Probably how Posi plans on making 50's more powerful w/o adding more levels. (Just a guess though)

Setting aside the atrocious appearance (the greyscale background makes it look like it's not even a window from this game, and doesn't offer sufficient contrast with the off-white text) and the inherently confusing interface (having things shunted to tabs I can't see doesn't in any way help me keep track of what I'm doing, especially when the chance of a transaction actually staying active seems to be 1 in 10), the inability of the interface to actually accept a transaction without self-cancelling it is almost as frustrating as catastrophic lag. Even worse, because the interface shunts "bidding" transactions into the "bought" tab, even if a bid does stick, if it goes through and I buy something, it just looks like it self-cancelled again, leaving me clicking the bid button again, and increasing the possibility of making multiple purchases when I only want 1 ([i]maybe not always a big deal, but when you accidentally buy 5-6 extra Hamidon Goos at 3 mil a pop, it can get a bit wasteful[i]).

Words cannot adequately express my consternation while trying (and usually failing) to use the so-called new and improved Auction House interface. The old one may not have had as many snazzy gadjets and gizmos and doodads, but at least it usually worked.

I am not sure that I can understand your problem with the Market since this fix came out except for the appearance. Maybe the design methods too if you want to talk about all the Tabs and such, but the market has been working great for me overall. Actually, I have been having less trouble with this new market than I had with the old one which would seem to choke up at least once every time I tried to use it.

The one querk I have found is that there is a delay on the bidding part, but that just means I need to be more patient when i bid. My new general rule is count to 15 before I cancel a bid and then to 5 before I submit a new one.
  10. I like the back story on Marauder. Very cool how you can look between the lines and know there is a lot of things not said and with the back story on him we have already . . . Well, very cool.

I was disappointed with the Syndicate though. What is there would be a good way to open the background story on a Villain Group, but not the whole background story in itself. I sincerely hope that more info if forthcoming.
  11. Well, not that I expect that this will ever happen since I never hear of any conventions here, but if you guys ever want to come to Hawaii you could mix a lot of fun in with a little bit of work.
  12. Not a real big issue, but I went to change my toons costume today and noticed the background of all the costume slots was screwed up. Top half was right and the bottom half was wonkie. Anyone else seeing this?

This is a good idea, except that I think you would have to make an accross the board choice, not an individual one. That list would be HUGE and would take forever to set up for each character.

I especially like the option of supressing the Special Effects. While some are ok, most do ruin the look of my toons, especially ones like ice sheild and many of the fire buffs.

Also, why is it Cole Memorial Hospital if he isn't dead?

Lastly, I wish someone had asked whether the Incarnate system will be open to side-switched characters, and if so whether there will be any benefits for never switching sides.
mousedroid, I'll try to answer some of your questions here since no one else touched on them that I can see.

Level 50 Dominator - I think it is safe to say that he would be shoehorned into the Controller PPPs. They are afterall the opposite side equivalents.

Cole Memorial Hospital - Memorializing someone does not have to wait until after they are dead. There are many examples of this everyday. Simply naming something after someone is in fact a memorial.

Incarnate System - the only requirement named so far is that you have to have a level 50 toon. Not to say that that is the only requirement, but it is the only reference I have found so far.

Benefits for not switching sides - it was mentioned someplace that there would be some sort of benefit for not switching sides. Unfortunately they have not said what they are yet.

Hope this helps, but probably not much since they are being rather quiet on details.

Actually Thirty-Seven, I had put that in there so that people wouldn't jump all over me for bring up unsubstantiated rumors. I don't know Techbot Alpha, I went back and read the posts by those two and while they were a little over the top, they have some good points. I wasted an hour on-line that day, my fault I admit. I was amazed by the fact that they were answering questions that had already been officially posted and by the lame "Who would win in a race?" or "Do you like Vodka?" questions they decided to answer. Actually, amazed is a little lacking in color but I am trying to be polite here.

I counted about 64 questions and was only impressed by the answers to about 5. I will admit that the dodge they gave for the drop date of Issue 19 was funny, but I think they could have chosen better questions to answer.

Honestly, I think most of us would be happy if we had a little more detail on what or when things are planned to come about in the game. If they had said “PvP is in the works, but not until at least Issue 20”, I think most would have been happy with that kind of answer. While some would have complained, most would say “Ok, we have a guess-timate at least”. And if later on they had to move it back for reasons of complexity or other game content again, the grumbles would happen, but I believe overall people could accept it.

I will tell you a lesson I learned in my 13 years in the U. S. Marines. Any information was better than nothing or vague ways of the hand, and changes are expected. Either Marketing or the Devs (maybe both) seem to have not learned that lesson yet or forgotten about it.
  18. Happy Birthday to the Game and all the Players out there that are enjoying it. I have to say the update is very welcome and a specific day no less . . . AWESOME! The link is even working now so even better. All in all I am a very happy player today.
  19. Well, Samuel_Tow, it is fairly obvious that you don't like this idea and I can see your point. I however would like to see a little flavor added to the game in this way. We have enough missions where "we just run to the door", "go talk to this guy and and do what he tells you", or "find this many of XXX and kill/arrest them". It might be kinda neat to get some more viarety than that.

I agree that the word games might be difficult for non-native english speakers, but that is why I (and some others) suggested allowing players to return to the contact if they can't figure it out. If they can figure it out on their own then give them a merit or two as a bonus.

In a way we already have something similar in some Strike/Task Forces in that we are to to go to a certain area of a zone and kill 20 of XXX. Only problem is you are not told what zone it is and any kills outside of that zone don't count. Personally I like that kinda stuff.

This idea would just add some more variety to the game and that is not necessarily a bad thing.

I think this would probably be the best solution to adding some change to the game. It still allows you to take the easy way out by returning to your contact, but also lets you earn a little extra reward for being self sufficient.

It would have the added benefit of not needing to return to the contact in those first few missions as well if set up properly.

You have some very good points and that is why I have been complaining a lot about the CoH website lately. It is completely realistic to expect to find accurate, up-to-date, and relavent information there. Which makes the lack of information appalling. You would think that as THE website for the game, that at the very least you could get a basic description of the powers for each AT. I'm not talking the actual numbers for the powers, but a basic description of the various sets and their powers would be nice. Some basic builds would be a good idea too and maybe some hints for making the game play learning curve faster.

New players should not have to come here to the forums for information about the game. Let's be honest, some people have made some really good recommendations on the forums and one or two issues later they were horrible recommendations (6 slotting haste and the deminishing returns comes along). And ParagonWiki can be just as bad.

Simly put, if the guides were incorporated into the website and the website updated as new patches/Issues come out, the new players would have a much easier time learning this game.
  22. Ok, no silver bullets is a let down, but I have to agree with Myriad. The real problem with Dual Pistols is that it looks so awesome. Not that I mind that, it just makes the looks of the other powers so ho hum. I do wish that incendiary bullets were red though and not green like the toxic bullets(or is my monitor screwed up?).

I agree with you there Dispari, increasing available character slots to 48 and giving current players four slots would seem to be appropriate. But it still costs the company money in the long run to give out free slots. I do believe however that if they do ever decide to start merging servers (I know it is just a rumor right now) that they will do this in order to appease players. We shall see though, since nothing has been mentioned yet I think we can see the writing on the wall.

Now I'm not saying that's necessarily a bad thing as games are businesses like any other, but let's not delude ourselves into thinking it's anything other than what it really is.

Once you understand the purpose it then becomes very clear why there are no regulations or controls. This is because in a game economy inflation is your best friend. The more out of whack the economy the more time and effort is required to obtain what you want, and that again translates into more subscription revenue.

So if you speak of dev intent, the market exists solely to keep people playing and paying, nothing more, nothing less. The more things cost, the more farming, um, playing you need to do to earn more inf to buy more expensive stuff which further raises prices; lather, rinse, repeat. The market is set up exactly the way the devs want it as it completely fulfills its goal. Why mess with what ain't broke?
Depressingly enough, what you say here actually makes a lot of sense and my view of the Devs just dropped a notch or seven. I am going to reserve judgement though for a little while longer. The pessimistic side of me agrees with you, but the optimistic side keeps saying that something is in the winds since changing this system will keep more people happy and playing. We'll see.
