I think if you can't get your SG members to wear their SG costume..then maybe they are not cut out for an SG. I mean....I earned 3k prestige just last night doing a few missions...many people in my SG have around 10k now.

    [/ QUOTE ]

They don't even have to change their costume colors if they don't want to. After all, the player chooses which parts of their costume to recolor for SG mode. I have a toon where the only difference between her regular and SG costumes is the symbol on her chest.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And you don't even have to have that these days!

On the contrary, at around 1.5m you can have a fully functional base with medical bay and crafting tables, a total of 5 added rooms. A little farther to 2m and you've got a fully equipped PvE base.

    [/ QUOTE ]

A full team of 75 level 50 characters should have a bit more than a tiny PvE base.

Not to mention, my tiny SG with less than 10 members will take a year just to get the prestige to make a functional PvE base.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You get a quite a bit of prestige just for your first 15 members and you earn prestige pretty quick if you play most of the time in SG mode.

    Blech. Typical fascist propaganda.

Nothing like applying the “mob rule” mentality that’s been enforced in Paragon to a completely different country with a different legal system where he has no jurisdiction. Freedom Phalanx initiative? I wonder what possible justification there was for the Statesman to set US foreign policy and attack a sovereign country? Talk about over reaching one's authority.

Not that obeying the law has ever stopped him from anything else he's wanted to do before. Must be nice to have the strongest super powers around and to be able to force everyone else to do exactly what you want them to do.

Statesman and his jack-booted thugs were handily repulsed last night… sent back to the Amerika who’s ideals they’ve twisted and distorted into their own tyrannical pseudo-democracy. It’s now exceedingly obvious that the Statesman and his cronies have no respect for Truth, Justice, or the American Way.

    Nice write-up though, Arctic_Sun

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, to be quite truthful, invading the United States to "liberate" known criminals would be considered an act of war.

So the United States has/had a few options to respond. They can convene Congress to see about declaring war and using the military or seek alternate "peace keeping" initiatives (which the president could probably pull off faster.)

The military option may be something that they can't pull over very well in a super-powered world.

I mean Statesman survived a nuke after all. It's been postulated that superpowers by their nature are weapons of mass destruction.

So do they go nuclear over a glorified jail-break or use their equivilant ability to "strike back" at the Rogue Islands and the leader?

This could become *very* complicated. Recluse will try to say he did nothing to instigate an invasion of this magnitude, but Statesman would say that he did.

    International Law at its murkiest!

And, while Jack says now that PvP will always be optional, a little over a year ago he was saying no PvP.

    [/ QUOTE ]

FYI - I never, never, never said that there would be "no PvP." Never.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yup! PvP was mentioned way back in CoH beta as going in *sometime*.
  5. [ QUOTE ]
OK - here's the most likely outcome...

If you own both games, you get all options - the new CoV sets will be accessible for your heroes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You have just made my friends day! She really wanted them all in both games, as she wanted more options. She wasn't too happy to find out that you couldn't get them all.

PLEASE add some or all of the great new options that Villains are receiving to Heroes' costume creator, at least for those players who own both CoV and CoH.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Noted. We'll see what we can do...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Um, Jack, you *have* to have this implemented somehow for when you have the redemption/fallen CoV to CoH and back.

I mean, maybe you have to use a face maker in a trial zone or something and a Icons in the Isles, but what are you supposed to do as a hero that "falls" to villainy? Just not ever change your costume again?

Ditto for "monstrous" villains that redeem themselves.

With Enhancement Diversification comes a benefit for ALL City of Heroes powers.

Every power, across the board, is getting a 13.33% reduction in its Endurance cost.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is actually equal or slightly less than the lost amount of a 6-slotted Stamina.

Do you plan to likewise increase all damage, resistance and defense across the board too? To try and keep a bad idea afloat, even though we've got many, many points on why it is bad?

    [/ QUOTE ]

A "bad idea" that people have yet to have a way to test. I'm skeptical too, but people really need to stop jumping the gun here and assuming its going to be a horrible game destroying nerf based on the numbers alone.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Liquid, I know that 20-30% resistance loss on my tanker means I will not be able to tank for a team against 75% of the damage types.

I *already* run like a screaming little girl from Fire Thorns that are more than two levels above me. I still haven't had the opportunity to get Resist Elements, but losing 1/4 or my *current* fire resistance and 1/4 of my defense is going to make those encounters even worse.

I don't think the developers actually believe that we are challenged, even when we get wiped out on rugged or heroic.

    CoH/CoV Teaming

    [ QUOTE ]
    Not at this time.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I would guess that this is because they don't share anything but PvP zones between the games. Finding out that you can't go with your "team" to a proscribed zone would be unfun.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
Just letting you know I have read this, and will be addressing the valid issues.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Could you give us an update as to which is which, and why some aren't "valid"? I'm pretty sure the disorient bug isn't a Defender issue, but others might be a bit murkier.
  11. [ QUOTE ][*] PVP: Darkest Night debuffs base damage rather than enhanced damage, crippling it in PvP. A power with a base damage of 100 would do 265 damage with 5 SO damage enhancements. Using Darkest Night would only reduce this damage to 235, a decrease of 11% rather than 25%. (LastHumanSoldier, wording by Quason)

    [/ QUOTE ]

I wonder if all debuffs are calculated this way? -ACC debuffs would basically be useless if that is the case.

Stealth, Grant Invisibility, Invisibility,Combat Flight, Weave, Maneuvers, Vengeance, and Combat Jumping will grant a Defense bonus to Smashing and Lethal Attacks in addition to Melee and Ranged attacks.

I added the same to Controller/Illusion/Group Invisibility.

The result of this is that ALL defense builds will benefit from Pool powers. Previously, Ice Tankers suffered somewhat because the Pool defenses did not stack with their defense powers. This is now rectified.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What about Defender powers that give a boost to defense like Shadow Fall? Or the Illusion powers for Controllers?
  17. [ QUOTE ]
    From the Stratics chat:

<Brannoc> *Dinshu* What exactly is Prestige and how can you earn it?
<[CS]Zeb> Prestige is what your SG needs to build and pay for a base. You earn it by defeating foes similar to earning influence. However, you have to be in SG mode to gain it.
<[CS]Zeb> And yes, we're looking at allowing you to turn off your SG emblem for those folks who don't want to ruin a costume.
<[CS]Zeb> One thing about Prestige is as you get higher, it becomes a trade-off betwee Prestige or Influence. As you get more of the first, you get less of the second. So there are times you'll want to change to or from SG mode instead of being in it all the time.

Which answers the issue of why you would ever NOT want to be in SG mode. Great news on the emblems too.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Hmmm....

I think I see a serious problem here. Up until 30-40 Influence is not easy to get and not *everyone* has a sugar-daddy for INF later on.

The balance numbers to allow you to get your enhancements without ruining getting a base are going to be important.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
    This is fantastic !

Now whats the command to disable all this extra imbedded info, for those people who just want to take a regular screen pic again for whatever their reason for wanting to.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It *is* a regular picture, it's imbedded into it sight unseen, unless you use a program to see it, I *believe*.

So you can normally only see it in a program or on a web-site that discerns the tags so that you can "search" for it easier on web pages.

It would also make figuring out who broke the NDA on a Beta Test too, but I don't think that is the primary purpose.

Citadel was changed in issue 3. It's actually quite short and fun now.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Really? I'll have to look at redoing that one then. I hadn't heard or seen a update that it was changed.

    [ QUOTE ]
As for Shard TFs, I find them all to be fun and, for the most, easy XP. Especially Augustine. The delivery missions alone could next a non-50 a half a level. Augustine should only take even a pick-up team 3-4 hours at most.

Quarterfield could be daunting, but I did it 3 times before the idea of a badge for it was even hinted at. Hell, I did it twice before I even got the souveneir for it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've personally tried to do the first two Shadow Shards a couple of times. Very irritating. Especially when you ran into the bug that got you stuck at one mission.
  20. I would still like to see the Freedom Phlanx TF Badge at some point, just because it would be cool.

Just because TFs are going to be getting looked at due to this issue, I'll chime in here.

Shadow shard TFs. Way, way too long. The Talos one (barricade?) one is also very "grindy" as it has nothing to it but a couple of hunt missions and the *same* base time for the council over and over again.

Positron's TF can be overly tough for the first TF. The number of bosses can be very overwhelming at the DO level. Ruin Mages are brutally tough, especially when you can agro multiple spawns.

Moonfire is very nice and neat, until you get to the AV at the end. She has a self-heal power (that I think costs about 45 END for PCs) that she can *spam* that heals about 1.8k for each melee person. Any scrappers and tankers become absolute liabilities. Heavy Defender/controller teams with scrappers for damage didn't work at all.

All of the other TFs are a good challenge without being overkill time sinks, from what I can see.

    [ QUOTE ]
SG need more room. LOTS more room. Yes, the majority of SGs may be smaller, but some of the most loyal groups in this game are simply too big to fit in one SG. Our alts should all be contributing to the same base, not 4 different bases because of the arbitrarily low limit of 75 per SG. Never have I seen a good technical (or any other) reason why 75 must be the limit. Raise the limit, preferably by a factor of at least 5, or even abolish it altogether. This is major obstacle to Prestige being a workable system.

    [/ QUOTE ]
On the subject of which: perhaps change the limit to 75 accounts. This means that an absolute maximum of 75 characters from the SG can be active at once, but also means that alts are a non-issue in terms of space used.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hey! You rediscovered my idea! Of course, someone might have had it first!
  22. [ QUOTE ]
Bungee, in the post I quote, there is this :

    [ QUOTE ]
You CAN (in the settings) make your supergroup mode costume exactly the same as your normal costume.

    [/ QUOTE ]

with the word exactky and no mention of the chest emblem, if you have to swap your chest emblem, your costume is not exactly the same as your normal costume.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The emblem is the only thing that has to change. And you don't even have to use the SG's colors, if you had colors on that slot.

My scrapper does *not* do the SG colors, but he's always in SG mode if the SG is together. His chest symbol changes from a diamond to the rampant lion.

    That's the only difference.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
To add something similar to the Lone Stars problem, let me talk about the New Breed. This team was decided between vrious members of our main SG and added some outsider players to us.
We started in outbreak wearing Similar uniforms. These uniform where made since the beginning, one design common to all but Colours unique to each individual.

We ALWAYS play only together, we are around level 26 and do all the available TF as we reach their level ranges and we've do the TV respec together.

Problem is, we never go in SG colours, we already have a SG uniform, but it's also our individual uniform, on the opposite of many SG, at level 20 we created individual outfits, which we barely use.

    [/ QUOTE ]

SG colors are nothing. You can leave them defaulted to the costume. My SG's colors are bright red and orange.

For example, my level 50 uses the blacks on her default costume color, brighter reds from the SG mode and a very small dash of the orange. (belt and logo.)

My level 30 BP uses almost all yellows and some oranges from the SG.

My level 24 scrapper uses the symbol, red colored from the SG mode. *EVERYTHING* else is his black default.

You just have to be a bit creative.

Now I've got the most basic question in the world. Has any system specs at all been release for CoV? I've heard that the graphics are going to be a improvement on the CoH design. But does anyone know any system specs?
