  1. By the way, mayhem missions are complex. You might fail them, if you're new to the game. That's ok, you can still go back to the broker and get a new contact. (If you succeed you get a shiny temp power. That's the only real difference.)
  2. Now then, kidengineer, we have enough to pick on with what the OP actually DID without inventing character flaws.

I mean, I'm sorry you destroyed hundreds of millions of inf, ryancowboy6. But it was an avoidable mistake.

I give you the money, you roll the recipes, you give me whatever you roll. I'm taking the bet that you'll roll something like a LoTG; you're taking the bet that you WON'T.

(By the way, I had my first ever guy back out of a deal last week. Global is "The Great Rock." Ruined my like 27-and-0 record. )
  4. I'll admit it. My second simplest explanation was the same as my simplest explanation, but with more gratuitous personal abuse. I'm a bad monkey.
  5. Approx 96 slots on a L50 character. Plus 10 "inventory."
If you had a level 50 (normal) set IO in every slot you'd get back approximately 500K per
= 53 million inf. There is no way I'm aware of to get more than that.

If you had a level 50 SO in every slot you'd get back about 5.5 million.

Simplest explanation is, you misread a zero.

DO you have about 16 million inf?
  6. Yeah, pretty much the cockroach thing.

I've been buying and generating sub-level-40 recipes for Midlevel Crisis, personally. I've got about fifteen ready to go !

But hey, if fanboys say there's no problem, then no need for any fixes, right? All's quiet on the Paragonian front? If it ain't broke don't fix it? Still workin' on that novel after five years? The one with the protagonist? And the antagonist? Where events happen? /stewie OK, now I'm just funin'.
Say what you want, but any time you go more than three sentences you're probably bitter.
  8. Broke? Desperate? See my sig for help! (note that you get 5 merits PER ZONE for getting all the location badges in that zone. That's new.)
  9. Nethergoat: I don't like it when eryq2 speaks his mind.

That's BECAUSE he's full of it, but he's not technically wrong.

Does that mean the person who lands the killing blow is more likely to get a drop? I have always suspected this, but I've never been able to confirm it. It makes me want to focus my playstyle more toward blasters and scrappers.... rather than defenders.....
I believe you're interpreting this backwards. If you are in a duo with an AFK force fielder who has you on follow, for instance, you will be committing 100% of the killing blows. Dropstats will see the "you have killed" and the "you have drops" messages, and do the division. Because your friend the forcebot is getting half the drops, though, dropstats will think you are getting half what you "should" have gotten.
  11. If you need any level 45-50 common IO's lemme know.I had a lot of level 45 backlog sitting around at one point...
  12. It's all that piping and uneven stuff on the bottom of the car. Try it with something smoother...
    ok, that won't work either.
  13. Was this a task force ? Because TF difficulty is fixed again, so you may have been fighting unexpectedly high level enemies.

I know, I'm asking the stupid questions like "Is it plugged in?" But sometimes the stupid things are the ones that are wrong.
  14. Is there really a newbie at the bottom of this dogpile anymore?

Hi. Welcome to City of Heroes. I agree that wallwalking would be cool (maybe even for more than the first 15 minutes.) It was really cool the VERY FIRST TIME I played this game when I jumped over a bus stop, lengthwise, without touching it. It "put a smile on a geek's face." I don't notice it so much six years later, but I remember.

But I don't want people to have to reprogram every vertical surface in the game. We've got a really good physics setup in this game- we almost never get guys stuck in/behind the walls and floor anymore- and I don't want to mess with this particular good thing. It took years of hard programming work to get there. I was the guy with Teleport Foe, joining teams to pull that one last guy out of the wall and then go back to my own stuff. I don't want to go there two hundred times more with Recall Friend when some superspeeder gets stuck in the groin of some vault in Oranbega somewhere. Again.

There are things I never thought I'd see that are, in fact, now in the game. Animated tails. Colored powers. But those things make a REALLY BIG difference to a WHOLE LOT of players, or they're relatively easy [sic] to implement.

What you're asking for is, I'm given to understand, a lot of work. It's 15 minutes of fun for almost everyone, and then they go do a mission.

In other words: What they said.

I also feel it cheapens the achievment for those of us who got to 50 to unlock their EAT.
You know what I feel cheapens the acheivement?

    Patrol XP.
    Lowered XP 10-20 and 40-50.
    Half debt in mission.
    Half the debt cap, period.
    No debt till level 10.
    Huge team multipliers for XP.
XP in ouro, XP exemplared, XP redoing TF's for the tenth time with a 5-level-higher set of powers.
Jetpacks at 6, jump packs at 10, anyone can get a jetpack earlier if they really want it.

It took me 300 hours to get my second level 50 and I thought that was pretty fast. for someone who never got PL'd.

    Now a fast 50 is ... what, 50 hours?

    There. Is. No. Acheivement. There.
  16. I'll give you 240 million inf for 12 random rolls at level 40.

    What server are you on?

(Edit: That should be about the cost of a LoTG. I don't know what'll happen when the market comes back, though.)
  17. From my very old guide:
    Quote:

Almost all of you know almost all of this but I wanted to go over it anyway. If you miss one of these things, you could burn a million influence on something that doesn't work in your build.
    * Enhancement Diversification means anything over 90% is pretty much wasted. That's three SO's or [after level 25] three IO's.
    * You cannot slot the EXACT same enhancement ["Mako's Bite Accuracy/Damage"] twice in the same power. You can slot two Mako's Bite- one acc/damage, one damage/endurance- in the same power. You can slot two acc/damage if they are from different sets( Mako's Bite and Crushing Blow) in the same power. You can slot two Mako's Bite acc/damage in two different powers.
    * Pay attention to what an enhancement tells you it goes into. When you hover over the picture of the enhancement, you will see something like "Ranged Damage".
    * You want at least one SO of accuracy in each attack power; for most powers I like 1.5 .
    * If you slot two or more of the same set ["Mako's Bite Acc/Damage" and "Mako's Bite Acc/Damage/Endurance/Recharge"] in the same power, you get a little bonus for each thing you slot . Five slots? You get a bonus for 2, different bonus for the 3rd, different bonus for the 4th and different bonus for the 5th. You get all four of those bonuses.
    * You can add the same "little bonus" up to five times. No more than five, even if they're from different sets. 3% Resistance and 3.11% Resistance are different little bonuses!
    * "Recovery" means Endurance Recovery, like Stamina gives; "Regeneration" means HP Regeneration, like Health gives.
    * IMPORTANT : price out the salvage before you buy the "set IO". If something says it needs "Pangaean Soil", at the moment you have to be a 3-millionaire to get it.
Later in that guide I say that you can, very roughly, treat a multipart IO like each part is "half an SO" if you don't want to do fine-grained math. (so an acc/dam is "half an SO of acc, half an SO of dam.")
  18. Really, can't say any more than that. I ran a Spine/Dark before inventions, but I had a kin on the team ALL the time. With inventions and SB you've got nothing to fear.
  19. Well, still, that's 4 each on average. . .
  20. I don't listen to rumors from people I have on /ignore.
  21. The various positronic tasers, envenomed daggers and so forth are dropping WAY more frequently than I would have expected. I got, on a three hour Sister P (we did a LOT of killing) about as many deadly gadgets as common IO recipes. That may be off- I had to delete commons- but I got 7 items.
    Plasmatic Taser
    Envenomed Dagger x2
    Revolver
    Hand Grenades
    Recovery Serum
    Power Analyzer Mk II

Does this match anyone else's experience?

Now look at the ridiculous prices for IO's under those levels, only people with 50's can afford them. If that's not over inflated i don't know what is, no amount of farming at low levels is going to get you the IO's until you're higher.
