Ah, number one is hilarious! Nice use of costume pieces there.

Quote:I believe that the OP is asking if there is any reason why there would be solo only content, not if there was some. There are some special solo-only missions in the new DA content where you get to play as an NPC and go "behind the scenes" of the main story - they're very cool.
Besides the morality missions, which Bill already mentioned, almost all missions convert easily enough from solo to team. The only mission I can think of that might be strange is the mission from Sondra Costel in Atlas. It's the mission where you have the perspective of the reporter going in to talk to the Skull boss. Has anyone done this mission while on a team? -

Quote:I wouldn't be surprised if they did. Every apocalyptic movie/series I've seen always has someone go crazy because of all the stress. We already have Carol in the comics set a precedent for this; she has even more reason to do so, because of what happened to Sophia.Sorry, didn't mean to kill the thread with a short agreement comment. For folks who saw this last week's episode, did anyone get the impression TV-carol might be headed down a route somewhat parallel to comic-Carol? If not in her approach, but in the underlying festering pool of crazy?
Of course, they could go the completely other way, and she becomes a zombie killing machine. See "Tallahassee" in Zombieland for an example of this.
Anyone find it kinda funny that Shane b*****d at Lori for leaving the farm alone, when he did the same thing to bring her back? -
So, if the LRSF is updated to reflect the new FP, will the LGTF be updated in regards to Penny and Hero 1? (If indeed they are part of the FP...)
Will Glacia and Infernia be a part of the new groups as well, seeing they have returned from the Rikti world? (Despite many heroes ensuring that they die off?)
Will there be a new TF, hosted by Manticore, in a new neutral ground? It'd be interesting to have a vigilante style TF that allows you to make moral choices, similar to the Praetorian choices. Each player gets a choice, the majority winning, with ties decided by the leader's vote. I could see DJ Zero allowing Manticore to hang out there, giving out tasks.
Why isn't there a CoH equivalent of the Injustice League? Arachnos is a great group, but it'd be nice to see a gathering of some of the other villains form a group as well. Mangle, Hollow Point, Critical Mass, etc., would be great as opponents in a TF. (Just a thought while musing on the new Freedom Phalanx...) -
Yay! Good news indeed. Smart, well written show; it should be brought back, at least for a fourth season, for them to graduate from college.

Getting 4 blind invites from the same person in a 10 minute period? Yes, /hide is a good thing. It may not always be a social reason; there can be many reasons for using it.

Yeah, I noticed the time change as well. Maybe the brightness in the bar was due to a setting sun, coming in the windows? I don't know, it did seem weird.
And I found the case of Randall to be a little strange. First, Rick does in the two guys to protect him and his own, but then it's okay to bring one who's wounded back to the farm? It's a little contradictory, especially considering that Randall had been shooting at them just a few minutes earlier. So, his excuse for why he killed the other two seems a little flimsy with his treatment of Randall. Maybe it's the right thing to do, but it seemed a weird time to feel conscientious about it.
As for Herschel's daughter, either she has the slowest case of zombie-ism on the planet, or it's something else. I was thinking of something that can cause fevers and the like, and I came across another possible solution: Is she pregnant? Shock plus being pregnant could have caused her to collapse. Just a thought... -
Watched this weekend. Overall, I enjoyed it. I just found the League take-down a little un-Batman. What made the original storyline very believable (Bats experimenting with kryptonite, with Scarecrow's fear gas, etc.) didn't really show through here. Yes, they did get the Martian Manhunter's right, and more or less Wonder Woman's as well, but the rest seemed kinda contrived.
A Kryptonite bullet? Yes, Vandal Savage did modify Bats' plans, but a bullet was his best solution? The Flash one was interesting, but it was Speed all over again. Green Lantern seemed kinda weak as well. Also, if Wonder Woman was really seeing people as Cheetah, wouldn't there have been a bunch of dead and seriously wounded people around her?
Like I said, overall I enjoyed it. I just found it to be a bit far from the source materiel. If I had never read the Tower of Babel storyline, I'd probably be okay with the movie. As I have, I found it a little lacking. -
Saw this last night, and it is funny!
It does make a really good point near the end; Superman's rebirth was the start of the resurrection ball rolling downhill. Before that, if we had a dead character show up again, it was always a clone/shape-shifter/disguise/illusion. For example, Jean Grey: she was brought back in 1986, but it was explained that it was the Phoenix Force who lived in place of the real Jean Grey, who was in a cocoon in a lake.
Now, we don't have to make a weird reason why it wasn't really them; we just make a weird reason why they didn't really die in the first place.(I took a time bullet to the knee!)

41
2. What is your gender?
male
3. What nation(s) are you a citizen of?
USA
4. At what age did you first read comic books?
7
5. Do you presently read comic books?
Yes
6. Have you ever read an online superhero comic?
Yes
7. How have comic book heroes affected you personally?
How to take responsibility for what talents you have (thanks Spider-man!), seeing that we can make the world a better place
8. Do you value the abilities/powers of a comic book superhero or the character/story development of the superhero?
Both, but more so the character/story.
9. Do you think superhero comic books have had a significant impact on society?
Yes
10. What value(s) do superhero comic books bring to modern society?
A way to express societal problems and solutions, a good look back on previous problems
11. Do you think the value(s) superhero comic books provide has changed over the last 20, 30, 50 years?
Yes, as they evolve to address actual events vs. just a villain of the week
12. What era or decade do you think superhero comic books had the greatest impact on society?
Probably the 60s - the start of the Silver Age. This era introduced so many of the comic books that we still see today, and helped inspire the next generation of artists and writers.
13. What have you thought about the movies in recent years that are based on comic book superheroes?
Like all movies, some are good and some are bad.

Yes. If anything, it's brought more potential readers to the table.
15. What, if any, new superhero publications have you seen in the last two years?
Last two years? The new 52 from DC? Other than those, the "youngest" titles I am currently reading are Irredeemable and Incorruptible, which are between 2-3 years old.
Optional Additional Comments:
I think that it's great that some of the most favored comics are coming out of vendors that aren't one of the big two (Marvel, DC). Even though some of those have become more mainstream (Dark Horse, for example), it's nice that these smaller companies are experiencing success in the medium. -
Quote:Yeah, how Dale managed to live to the zombie apocalypse, much less beyond it, is a mystery. He was the kid who opened their mouth too often, and got the tar beaten out of them as a result.I just hope somebody shoots or bites Dale. I hate whiny passive aggressive people like that. I have to work with one.
Quote:And my thought is that the daughter was only scratched, not bitten so with the help of some antibiotics she will fight off the infection. Part of the remaining plot line will revolve around the possibility of being able to synthesize a cure or immunization from her blood. Ok, it might not happen but I know how much television shows tend to fall into cliche patterns once the budget is cut and cheaper writers are hired.
Based on the fact that there are only 5 more episodes this season, I don't see them moving from the farm, unless it's the last episode. The introduction of this new group plus the rescue of Lori will take a few episodes, and then we are at the end. Based on the bonfire plus the noise from the new group, I'm guessing that the farm will be overrun by zombies, and they will have to leave it. It's their pattern; they only leave a place when it's really no longer available to them.
As far as the comics vs. the series, having read the comics since close to the beginning, I am glad that they are veering away from the comic storyline. I like being surprised by what may happen next. I am trying very hard to not to compare the two, but it can be hard. You sometimes wonder if T-Dog is taking Tyreese's place, or if Merle is destined to be the Governor. Then, I realize: we may never have the Governor in this series. Or maybe the Governor will be different, or called something else. I'm more concerned that they have a good storyline and good character development. So far? Some of the characters are nicely fleshed out, but some really don't have much purpose there. -

Quote:Sorry if I stepped on toes; it was not my intention. Yes, he was a hero in his own right, but he realized that the world needed Batman more than Nightwing. The same goes for Bucky Barnes; the world needed the symbol (Captain America) more than the man (Bucky).Dick Grayson assuming the identity of Batman was not a promotion.
Plus, I like the idea of a role being passed onto future generations of heroes. It's a cleaner version of continuity than retcons and revisionism that is rampant in comics. -
Sad. Mar-Vell's death was a poignant one; it showed a way to embrace death (both figuratively and literally) that was as important as embracing life. The scenes in the graphic novel were very powerful. In my opinion, bringing him back would pretty much nullify the power that the story of his death had.
Overall, I can't say I've been too pleased with how both DC and Marvel have treated dead heroes in the past few years. I thought that the promotion of Dick Grayson and Bucky Barnes to their respective roles as Batman and Captain America were great; it was a chance to see that the role was more important than the man. But apparently death doesn't really occur there, unless your name is Ben Parker or Gwen Stacy. (Or Dr. and Mrs. Wayne, I suppose.) -
Quote:Yep, I remember the route between all the Talos stores really well for just that reason. I wrote up an article for my SG at the time, outlining to sell the SOs at their individual stores, but they didn't believe me. I had to screenshot the prices differences to assure them that I knew what I was talking about. >.>Buying and selling in the right place back then could mean a difference of a million or two by your mid-thirties, which was serious SO funding.
As for the friendly contact store? At this point, it'd probably be best to just do away with them selling enhancements. With the Shining Stars tutorial giving information on getting enhancements, and with the abundance of places selling enhancements, it's just not needed. -
Last 2xp weekend, I ran a character through all 6 Freedom Phalanx TFs. It's was great; I started at lvl 12 or so, and managed to hit the level needed for the next TF in the current one.
This time? Like Rosa, I'm a few ATs shy of getting a 50 in each one; I need a Peacebringer (16), a Stalker (18), and a Bane(15). I'll be working on those and other lower levels that weekend. -
***POSSIBLE SPOILERS***
I loved the original Tower of Babel storyline. The idea that Bats kept such thorough information on all the League members and how to take them down is so in character for him.
I can see why they went with Hal Jordan vs. Kyle Raynor, as they really want to promote Hal Jordan as Green Lantern, with the recent movie and possible JL movie. However, I had to puzzle out why they included Cyborg, who only recently became part of the League in the new 52. They left out Plastic Man and Aquaman; yes, they are both unpopular, but they both had memorable ways that they were disabled.
Also, Vandal Savage vs. Ra's? I've always found Ra's to be a more formidable opponent; he seems more like Batman, in that he is far more prepared for possible outcomes.
Of course, the DCU animated movies have so far been far better than the Marvel ones, so hopefully this will still be good. I really don't mind the changes, as long as the story is good. We shall see soon enough. -
A few of my many villains:
Rogue Necromancer - Really goes by his given name, Xanthos. He is mostly Misguided Idealism, as he views any monetary gain from the sacred art of necromancy as intolerable. In his senility, he has included the entertainment industry in this, and actively uses entertainment figures as his minions.
Radiant - Radiant is a mix of Personal Gain and Megalomania. She is a fallen angel, having been divested of her power after a brief attempt to overthrow the paradise she once lived in. She now uses Arachnos as a means to the end she desires most: to come back and defeat those who humiliated her.
Stygian Revenant - Partly Higher Purpose and partly Pure Malice, she was a Hellion groupie, who found herself trapped in a burning building while the Hellions battled it out with a group of fledgling heroes. She died in the fire, but was brought back by an Oranbegan mage, who wanted to wield her as a weapon. She feels a driving need to destroy the living, and has come to love the feeling when others fear her. -
I figured that the two guys were scouts for a larger group. They were asking too many pointed questions, and were too observant about what was going on. It seemed to me that this wasn't the first time that they've done that, so I expected them to be the first contact for a larger group. Get in, find out what you can, go back and report. Yes, they were a little too aggressive, which ended up getting them killed. Maybe they've had better luck with previous groups, who were more trusting.
Now, I have to wonder, will Shane change his opinion of Rick based on what Rick did in the bar? Will it quieten him down for a bit, so that he's no longer on everyone's list? -
I recently got Coldhearted on my Vigilante by hunting Cap for Hordelings, approximately 2 weeks ago. So, unless it's a really recent patch, I don't think this is it.

Just re-affirming that it is definitely a 'must' to re-run Ganymede/Scratch, and then do the talk to Dj Zero mish. Tried for a half hour to get V-tips today, until I got the helpful hint to run it again. Once I did, DJ Zero attuned me, and they started dropping like mad. Got 14 V-tips (7 for each badge) in less than 45 minutes today.
