  1. Patch notes are posted in German, no English yet.
  2. Well, it's what was posted in the UStream...
  3. In case you aren't seeing it, here is the link to the patch notes:

  5. Ill/Time Troller, and a Dark/Dark Blaster. Still undecided what I want to pair Beam with, so that will wait for the moment.

There is no problem involved in becoming your own father or mother that a broad-minded and well-adjusted family can't cope with. There is no problem about changing the course of history - the course of history does not change because it all fits together like a jigsaw. All the important changes have happened before the things they were supposed to change and it all sorts itself out in the end.

"The major problem is quite simply one of grammar, and the main work to consult in this matter is Dr. Dan Streetmentioner's Time Traveler's Handbook of 1001 Tense Formations. It will tell you, for instance, how to describe something that was about to happen to you in the past before you avoided it by time-jumping forward two days in order to avoid it. The event will be described differently according to whether you are talking about it from the standpoint of your own natural time, from a time in the further future, or a time in the further past and is further complicated by the possibility of conducting conversations while you are actually traveling from one time to another with the intension of becoming your own mother or father.

Most readers get as far as the Future Semiconditionally Modified Subinverted Plagal Past Subjunctive Intentional before giving up; and in fact in later editions of the book all the pages beyond this point have been left blank to save on printing costs.

The Hitchhicker's Guide to the Galaxy skips lightly over this tangle of academic abstration, pausing only to note that the term "Future Perfect" has been abandoned since it was discovered not to be."

---- Douglas Adams, "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"

Gotta love the classics. I made sure to spend some time in Galaxy yesterday, as my own farewell to her. Here's hoping that a new lvl 50 trial / zone opens up in the now Shivan run Galaxy City, where we can try to take it back!

Don't have to wait, already whining occurring in the Official Discussion thread.

Although if you ever intend to play as a Premium then you should absolutely not do this, obviously.
JUst an FYI: a previous response from Freitag in another thread:

So, there are more invasions that what's listed. No need to feel left out at this point by anyone. No call for needless panic; there's plenty else to panic about, move along, nothing to see here.

IMO, re: MARTy: Farmers will hate this, people who hate farmers will love it. The world will keep turning.
  10. They also are showing a Barbarian costume pack as well, but no details on it. Some of the weapons look nice.

    The Underground

Too true. I'm going to try a couple runs tonight, just to start working towards those badges.
  12. I can appreciate that there's a last minute bug that can't be fixed, but I am a little disappointed. Would have filled tier 8, and I would have bought enough points to fill tier 9, but I guess I'll have to wait for it...
  13. Yeah, I vendored a purple once. Luckily, it was just a Fortunata recipe, but still. I'm always a lot more careful now.

    DooOooOoooOooM?

Seriously though, CoH has maintained a fairly steady amount of paying accounts since its inception. Some people have multiple accounts, and that needs to be factored in, but I'm guessing that the majority of players do not have multiple accounts. (I myself have an inactive second account, so it counts as half?)

I've seen these kind of arguments over the past several years about how the game is dying, etc., but I've yet to see it happen. Going F2P to me is a good step for CoH. If you view LoTRO and its transition to F2P, they experienced a growth in both subscribers and revenue. Is it hard to believe that CoH can't experience the same? Not really.

You are partially right. They may not be able to change player opinions all the time, but the flipside is true as well. We may not be able to change the dev's opinions either.

The devs need to walk a balancing line: on one side are the consumers, who need to be kept happy; the other side is the company, who needs to have good revenues. The devs are trying to keep a happy medium, but it isn't always going to make us perfectly happy. You don't like not being able to respec a powerset, but it doesn't bother everyone else. Devs have to manage based on the majority, not the minority.

QFT. I was running it on my 2nd badger, and having a devil of a time finding all 12. Read this tip, and switched on names; got it on the first try afterwards. It works.

My main has run Binder of Beasts as well as various arcs with Legacy Chain in them. The minion gladiator is set for 100 defeats, but the lt. is set at 200. It just takes time to get them, especially if the rest of the team doesn't want to kill all.

One set of these, the ones guarding the little vortices, are mission-critical, and should thus respawn very quickly. That's going to make those badges much quicker.
My main badger is staying a rogue until I21 for this and the low level villain badges.

I had been considering running Vincent Ross' arc again for Legacy Chain; you can defeat a bunch in the last mish. But, with I21 coming soon, I'm waiting to make it easier.
  18. You may want to wait and leave your character in Praetoria to experience the First Ward content as a Resistance/Loyalty member.

Pretty much an admission that they're real, unless the dev be trollololololing us by putting them in their for their EVIL ways!
There's a video of the 9 powers in the Staff Fighting set. May be taken down any time now...

    Tiers?

(This changes when you are long time Vet).
    To clarify further:

It only changes with the first, and not the second. You can access Super Speed (or other travel powers) earlier at level 6 with the 60 month reward badge, but it does not affect Whirlwind (or other tier 4 travel pool powers). They still require 2 previous powers to obtain.

Of course, the travel pool selections are being updated in I21, so this will change in 2-3 months anyway.
  22. Buying Going Rogue gave access to the Demon Summoning and Dual Pistols powersets, so there is a precedent. (Yes, GR also gave other things as well, I acknowledge that.)

I guess it boils down to how much they'll cost. It'd be nice if they were unlocked on the Test Server to test, before purchasing them on Live. Who knows?
  23. Anyone else just forcibly disconnected? What a tease!

At $15 a month, and an average of 30 days in a month, comes to 50 cents a day. As this is less than a day's worth of downtime, would you like the 25 cents as a check, or just a quarter dropped in the mail?

But not in the industry? Programming is full of surprises, especially with something this complicated. Look how often Windows gets patched; introducing new content can change how existing content worked. Just nature of the beast...

As for the extended maintenance, it can cover a lot of ground: new hardware, replacing existing hardware, reboots, defrag, etc. A good network admin knows that any job can take longer than expected. You can try to plan as much in advance as possible, but you can't plan for the unexpected; it's just that, unexpected.
