So which would I benefit more from as far as DPS is concerned, 2 Chance for BU procs, or one Mako damage proc and a Chance for BU proc? As of the moment I have 2 BU procs, but I can easily switch one out for the Mako.

Just did a quick run-through on what you had, and tried to squeeze out as much defense as I could. You're soft-capped to Melee and Ranged, and AoE is pretty good.

Quote:Yeah, because an extra 8% regen is sooo much more noticeable than an extra slot for run speed in quickness. If you're going to suggest he remove that slot for more useful purposes, I'd only do that for an extra defense or recharge boost or something. In the long run, 8% regen really isn't noticeable... I'd probably put it in something like Quickness for the sake of fun. Running around maps super-fast is super-fun. Unless there's something he wants to move around, and needs that slot for a better set bonus.Notice I put one in brawl, which sounds stupid, (it may be) but I am getting +8% Regen out of it.
I am sitting at 21.xx hp/sec right now. Nothing to scoff at.
Don't mean to sound mean, sorry if I come across like that -
I just made a quick run-through, and noticed basically everything people have already mentioned, so I won't go through specifics. Here's another build to think about in addition to those others.

So I was told that the most accurate representation of DPS would be to take on a tough target and time yourself, so I did that with a pylon. How do I go about figuring in the Regen from the Pylon into that calculation to find my DPS?
-
I have both a 50 Claws/SR and a Claws/Regen, both IO'd to the gills. I'd say the /SR is more powerful (obviously), but there are few sets that are as fun to play as Regen. Since Claws' animations are so quick, they go well with the heal activations (or at least in my mind, that's how it works).
The advice above is great. Follow Up, Slash, and Focus are absolute must-haves. On mine, I don't have Eviscerate/Shockwave/Spin, just the latter. I find that with the amount of recharge I have (which is quite high, to be honest), I don't have time to use a second AoE before Spin is up again, so I just hit Focus in between Spins... but anyways, enough of that rant.
I'd recommend Regen to anyone who's not looking to do insane-o crazy stuff unless IO'd out the @$$. it's great fun. -
On my /SD, I have around 16% set bonus defense, and I'm at least 45% defense to all position. So, yeah, around 15.5-16% should get you there.
EDIT: That's running CJ and Weave by the way. I know you said you had Weave, but if you don't have CJ or Hover, then you're going to need about 3% more. -
My thanks, Demo. I was wondering why there was a random 3.75% drop without the last two pieces of that Mako's set... >.>
-
Hey guys. I have a DM/SD build I have laid out, but to get my ranged softcap in, I have to sacrifice a 6% heal on Siphon Life (comparing it to what I'd to with the slotting without the Mako's set I have in there now). I was wondering if you could give me some tips on how to avoid using the whole Mako's set, and move some other slots around to get the ranged defense up?
I'm trying to avoid that PvP +Def IO at all costs, so don't use that one please :P
Here's the build:

Quote:You're an Ice/ Tank, and PA helps you with what? I hope it's not aggro control.I agree with this. I have a lvl 50 Ice / Energy Tank and I love having help from PA. Knockback isn't an issue unless it's on the mob I'm working down. And that isn't a problem because I have both Chillbane and Block of Ice from my Epic Pool just for those peskie runners. Even well before epic powers though, I've never had an issue with a runner or knockback. I remember setting auto follow a lot of times when I knew KB was going to be part of the group mix. In most cases, they come running back to the tank once they get up anyway (as long as the tank is managing aggro well).
He may be one of those tanks that just like to sit in one spot and hit with little effort.
Don't let it get you down. -
My favorite so far is the Claws/SR I have built. It's the first toon I've been uber-survivable on, and Claws is just such great fun. Second would be Claws/Regen. I love that one because, while my particular Claws/Regen is that survivable, he's extremely fun to solo with, due to the more interactive secondary.

This is what I had laid out for a Kat/Elec Scrapper. Take what you will from it.

You could always splurge big time and get the Panacea and Performance Shifter procs in there :P

Yeah, What Worcupine said. Another thing I've noticed about the new Mid's is that some of my builds say that I made a power selection that is not possible within the parameters of the game when it's not. Like it says that choosing Strike first (one of the first power choice options) is impossible to do, and then it will not let me select any of the powers from my primary so I can try to remove/fix them.
-
So when I was making my build on Mid's before St0n3y released his updated version, I somehow put Adrenaline Boost in to hold a spot for Physical Perfection. However, now that I can put Physical Perfection in for real, and actually see the Regeneration and End. Mod. boosts, I want to switch it out. Can anyone instruct me in the ways of getting Adrenaline Boost out of my power slot? I can't figure out how.
-
Re-submit it with the php/Zetaboards format. We can't read anything here.

I don't know how you play, but I actually dropped Shockwave on mine to pick it up, and moved 4 slots over to boxing for the Absolute Amazement set, so I keep the recharge, and then put another damage proc somewhere. I leave PhysPerf. with only the Performance Shifter proc.
-
The best part about the Absolute Amazement set is that it gives all the same bonuses as Apocalypse or Hecatomb, with 1/4 the cost!
-
Nihilii, you basically just summed up all of the insecurities I had about the build. Thanks for your help. You're right about the Armageddon set, I don't know what I was thinking. Also, as far as the Impervium Armor sets, I don't really know what I want to slot for with the resistance powers. Do you have any suggestions? This is my first time building a res. based toon.
-
I wanted to roll a Kat/Ela Scrapper once i16 rolled around. I wanted to focus on getting him to the melee soft cap with two applications of DA, and then pack in as much recharge and regen in as possible. Any suggestions on alternative slotting methods to make him even better?
Here's the build:

Your build was pretty good, but I made some editions to it. One of which was to take out that entire Razzle-Dazzle set and put in an Absolute Amazement. I put one extra slot in SJ for the AoE defense in the BotZ set.
I also six slotted the Obliteration set instead of 5, and then I took out the Touch of Death set and put Crushing Impact in, same on Slash. That's an extra 10% recharge. I also freed up some extra slots for damage procs. Also, I moved one of the slots from Slash I think down to Brawl for the Pounding Slugfest duo you were going for, for the 8% regen. That way, you keep the regen, and then can use an extra slot to give it the Achilles' proc.
Oh, and I also put the Regenerative Tissue proc in Health. That brings you to 347% regen.
And to top it all off, you're still soft-capped.
I'm sure Umbral or Bill Z or someone can do a better job than I can, but this is what I noticed right off the bat. Here's the modified build I have if you want to take a look.
