  1. I'll just reiterate my idea for how to "fix" the claws.

    Make a set of invisible claws that can be selected as a custom weapon, as usual. These claws are completely invisible and don't draw anything.

    Now we can pick one of the existing spiked gloves, or one of (hopefully) several new spiked gloves which will be created to be used specifically for this purpose, some with animalistic claws growing from the knuckles, some with other kinds of claws. These gloves will look perfect when the hand forms a fist and is used with claw attacks.

    We can also just use any old hand we want and use Claws as a "punchy" form of Martial Arts.

  4. I will agree with this. The delay used to be cool. Now it's mostly annoying. Makes me want to skip those powers, really.

    Except that nobody in the arc mentions anything that can summon Scrapyard, but they do mention a wedding ring.

    People have complained about not seeing any change to the game world despite Tin Mage, Apex and Sutter showing great destruction in Kings Row, Steel Canyon and Skyway. Now we're finally seeing some effect of the invasions.

  9. When you finish Captain Petrovich's arc he tries to bargain for his life by giving you Scrapyard's Wedding Ring.

    I think this should grant villains a temp power exactly the same as the Wedding Band that heroes can get from Maria Peebles in Striga.

    That is all.

    Not a no-magic, a low-magic, or perhaps magically drained world. Cole himself has a Magic origin. I still think he is sucking the magic out of that world to grow more and more powerful, possibly through the aid of the Well. And I bet it started when he murdered Stephan Richter. I bet the Well took notice of him right then and there, and the power that had been granted to Stephan was instead siphoned over to Cole. Once he had that first rush of extra power it would only be a matter of time before he wanted it again, and again, and again.

    The whole "invade the multiverse" plan is probably just so he can find more supers to murder in order to gain more power. At least that would make some kind of twisted sense, instead of the silly idea that it will improve the safety of Praetoria somehow.

  12. There is very little magic in Praetoria.

    The Circle of Thorns complain about the difficulty of casting spells there in the special Halloween tip mission.

    The Transmuter was a magical hero who was depowered and now spends his time as a contact for Power Loyalists.

    I think Aria is a member of the Powers Division with magical powers but she might be a mutant.

    Cole seems to be hogging all the magical origin-juice for himself.

    Vanessa de Vore should still be using magic though. She and the rest of the Carnival of Light. Wherever they are.

The current situation with the MA (see here for a discussion: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=259226, basically a whole lot of arcs are left broken and unplayable because of strange "copyright" errors) might warrant an extension of this month's contest. In any case I would like to point out that the arc I entered into the contest ("Arena") is currently unplayable because of this sudden and mysterious change in the profanity/copyright filters.

  16. It seems like if I create a custom critter and give it the same name as an npc, for example I created a custom Castle and called it "Castle", it will think I'm breaking some copyright.

    Since Castle doesn't exist as a normal fighting critter in the editor I have to create a custom version, which fortunately I can make to look exactly like the trainer Castle in Peregrine Island, since he's not using any unique costume pieces.

    I bet that if I used the existing Castle model, an npc who can't fight and probably doesn't exist outside of the contacts list so can't even be used as a critter inside missions, and called it Castle, I could get away with it.

    This is all incredibly stupid.

    I'm having another problem with a mission not letting me enter, instead giving me a popup that says "MADoorInvalid" before auto-quitting the arc. The mission has no errors and will start fine, letting me talk to the contact and everything. Someone said that it might be because it's a doppelganger mission, they had a similar experience.
  17. A fear effect would be awesome. I'd love that. It would have to be powerful enough to affect pretty much everything, though, even if it only lasts for something like 8 seconds. It should be just as powerful as the stun in Soul Transfer, at least. And I think it would fit both powersets.

  21. These two are the only self-rez powers I know of that don't provide a period of invulnerability/untouchability during the activation. This makes them almost useless in my opinion. Would it really be overpowered to put 4-5 seconds of untouchability on our characters when we use these powers so that we can at least finish the animation before we are instantly killed again?

    The regen version of the power was maybe not intended to be used in mid-combat, I don't know, but the WP version comes with buffs that indicates that it was supposed to be used immediately upon dying in order to bring the power of those buffs back to the fight and perhaps win. Instead we are forced to watch the same enemies that killed us the first time gleefully turn around and wipe us out before we can even use an inspiration for protection. I would be better off using a stack of awaken > break free > luck > luck inspirations, because that would actually give me a chance to do something.

    I think people watch the playthrough video and then when they see that you have posted another video that looks similar they think "I already watched that one, no reason to see it again." So your playthrough videos get more views because they show up first.
