Quote:This I had not heard of, but it makes me think.I read about research being done to splice spider silk-spinning genes into goat lactation anatomy at least 12 years ago and the agenda was for it to be used in production of reinforcing mesh for connective tissue, and other structures with some speculating it would be used preventively to reinforce at-risk joints in promising or currently successful athletes. And what's the first thing I hear about it's being used for, freaking bulletproof skin.
One of the issues with steroid use is that the muscles become stronger faster than connective tissue, so there are joint injuries.
Now, as an evil scientist, this makes me think that we could treat the joints on a subject, have him on a very demanding physical training regimen combined with steroids, and then treat his skin to make it bullet proof. Bullet proof and super strong. I finally have a back story for a SS/Wp Brute! Woohoo! -

While happy, I am honestly happier about the Deadpool video game.
-
Energy melee is terrible for farming. The only AoE it has, whirling hands, is generally considered to be the worst in all of the brute primaries.
-
On my phone, but one thing I noticed is you grabbed invis instead ofmanuevers. I would recommend against this. For one, stealths def is cut in half once you attack or get attacked. Secondly, you can't attack when invis is on.
-
I forget, what does ageless look like? Does it put a barrier on you?
To the OP, I have an 2 Inv brutes, and end reduction isn't much of an issue. I mostly ignore sappers. The only place where it has been an issue for me is when soloingArachnos x8. A group full of Mu can hurt. During those times though, I have plenty of inspirations, since I rarely ever use them. -
Ok, was just curious. This is the first toon that I have had in a long time with no DDR, So I was looking for, I guess you'd call it a cushion, that way when the def does get debuffed I'll have some wiggle room. Thx guys.

I'm marking this page as a reference. I've been playing a long time, and just never understood the intricacies of the market. This will be a big help. Thanks!
-
When building defense into a set with no def debuff resistance, is there a safe point? If I hit 56% def do I need to worry about cascading def failure?

Found a few of these on youtube. Just a funny little 2 minute thing. I love Hulk.

Quote:I think I'm going to do this to everything I post from now on, lol. When you want to talk about things that could spoil something for others, you can easily hide it (at least for those, that are using the hero skin).
Highlight to read:
Use the color #364D5D and your text will be invisible until marked... as you´ve just seen for yourself -
Think this will make Bio armor even better. And some of the squishier sets a little more resilient in the earlier levels.
-
Because I stopped playing him about a week after the Alpha slot came out, and have gotten I think, 3 toons to 50 since then.
-
Supergirl/Powergirl?
Why yes, I have a kryptonian themed build handy. Has Cryonic to simulate the frost breath, lbe, and afterburner to fly at supersonic speeds.
For my Captain Marvel/Wonderman toon, I went Peacebringer.

Quote:You know, I honestly never thought of this.I run Jab-Boxing-Haymaker-KOB.. I never seem to have an issue with my chain- the only time my damage suffers is when Rage crashes naturally. And I dipped into the Precense Pool for that.... "Oh yeah? If I can't attack for a few seconds...NEITHER CAN YOU!! FEAR!!!"
Hmmm.... -
WEll, I have the next three days off, and I have my current main as powerful as he is going to get, so it's time for a new project. Last time was an unbeatable mountain that could solo hard targets. This time, I think I'd like something with a little more AoE.
Now, before everyone yells for ss/fa, please understand that I have tried it three different times, and I just don't like it. Are there any other recommendations? I have tey to try TW, or even /Ela. Maybe a ss/ela?
Edit to add: This will be for general gameplay, i.e. TF's, trials, so should be survivable, able to put out respectable st dps so bosses don't take forever. Only set I am not open to is KM, mostly cause i dislike the animations. And staff, I don't have that one. -
Mr. Cipher is right. Building for s/l first, with e/n being a second priority is normally the way to go. Rectified reticle in focused accuracy, the brute ATE set split evenly in two is a great way to get it. I made a similar to yours in power choice and slotted how I personally would do it. This is just how I would go about it, but just as an example.

It has all the same powers, with the exception of focused accuracy. -
Quote:It isn't that def is worthless, it's that the enemies have higher tohit, so you would have to compensate with higher def. I believe the iCap is 59% def.Hey guys,
I'm an old player returning and enjoying the many changes I've seen.
I left shortly after the incarnate stuff was starting so I'm a little lost as to the status of old builds.
Thus, my question. What is the current flavor of the month for Brutes?
I have an old SS/SR that I was working on but last I heard Def is worthless in the incarnate trials.
Is this still true or is Def still the best choice?
Thanks, -
Quote:Wow, I mispelled doesn't, lol.Getting to S/L softcap on Inv isn't the issue. Any idiot can do that.
Getting your defenses on the other defense types up to acceptable ranges is where planning comes in. And using Kin Combats to boost S/L frees one up to make other choices for the exotics.
Agreed. Maybe I should have said that I have s/l/e/n soft capped with f/c at around 32%.
Also, I feel I should clarify. I wasn't trying to seem boastful, I was just remarking to the OPs statement about building inv around kin combats. In my defense, I did advise him to listen to you, as I know you know your stuff, and are a helpful member of the community. I just don't seem to have the ability to explain myself very well at times. -
I really should be sleeping, but.
My Fm/Inv brute is softcapped to s/l and doesnkt have a single kin combat set in it at all. Plus, these other two guys know there stuff. Follow there advice and you should do well. Ok now me go sleepy bye. -
I'm not big on football, but who is David Beckham? Wasn't he a Spice Girl husband?
Kidding. -
I think it should be pointed out that within the various films set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as well as in the animated series The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, the acronym stands for Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division.
Sounds more like a U.S. force than a U.N. force. -
Not sure about price wise, as I don't really watch the market and buy things instead of sitting on bids for days.
As far as what to build for, s/l is best as most attacks, as I understand it have one of those to components to them. Few attacks in the game are pure energy (iTrials being an exception) or pure fire. After s/l def, max hp, as the amount of hp regenerated is based off of this.
Alpha slot wise, I think Agility would be a decent choice, as it can help get you closer the softcap. There is another one that boosts def to, but it's my bedtime, and I can't recall what it is.
With fitness now being inherent, there is more choices in power pools. Alot of people now pick up manuevers, again to help with reaching the softcap.
